While strolling the aisles of Cost Plus World Market (btw: did this name ever strike anyone else as unfortunate? It sounds like the store is advertising that its prices get jacked up. However, a plethora of goodies are to be had, and at fairly reasonable prices. Anyhoo—), Bjorn let out excited yelps: “Daim! Daim!”
As the name sounds like “dime,” I was puzzled to see neither small silver coins nor an attractive woman with a big booty (as rappers seem fond of calling them).
Bjorn explained it’s a Swedish candy and as it was 55 percent off (making it $.67) I obligingly bought him one (and as of a rather brutal and messy juggling contest held in the aisles of the Michaels crafts store, I have to buy him another. Let this be a lesson, kids: Never be fooled into “Best of 3” contests.)
It tastes like another candy bar: Skor. It’s chocolate-covered crunchy toffee. Tasty, and except for the toffee getting stuck in my teeth, a perfectly serviceable snack. I can honestly say, “DAIM, you’re fine!”
(I make myself laugh sometimes).
