Special interest groups exist for many good and some not so good reasons. That’s just politics as usual. But, whether they are good or bad, is not the issue. I have some reasonable concerns about the influence these “special interest” groups weild, like the C.T.A. Union who is spending tens of millions to defeat certain propositions. Their single source of “big money” can overwhelm and dominate an election, as we are now witnessing. Once again, we have “deep pockets” big money, special interest groups, deciding the outcome of an election, not the issues as it should be.
This is a problem; how we solve it is apparently an even bigger problem, because neither Dems or the GOP have come up with any meaningful ideas.
