(Protestors block the streets to prevent illegals from deportation at a federal detention center in Broadview, Ill.,)
Last Friday Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer signed a bill into law that is almost word for word what the federal law says and yet many in the federal government are calling it racist. (Its a good thing that hypocarcy can’t kill or else we would easily lose over 99% of the bureaucrats in Washinton.)
The reason the State passed their own version of the federal law was because the federal government was not enforcing theirs. Arizona was being overrun by illegal aliens and narco-terrorists. They had petitioned the federal government numerous times for assistance and reimbursement for costs and they were simply ignored.
The people of Arizona understood that passing this new immigration law was akin to treating the symptom, not the disease, but they were forced into this because the disease (unsecured border between the US and Mexico) was beyond their control. This was their only option.
For 8 years under the Bush Administration the problem of illegal immigration grew, because a certain element of influence within the GOP wanted to take advantage of cheap Mexican labor. For them it was all about money and for the Mexicans, well, it was all about money too.
On the other side were the Democrats and they saw this as an opportunity to increase their voter base through amnesty programs. Many Hispanics are being elected into high government offices and they saw illegal immigration as a way to maintain and expand their control, and expand Hispanic influence at every level of American society. At the same time they could raise the status the average Hispanic to new highs and finally achieve equality among white America. They were also motivated by their own racist feeling and a need for payback, lets us be completely candid now. Racism cuts both ways and to amplify this, many white liberals desperate to assuage their own guilt sought to champion a faux cause for the downtrodden. They also became co-conspirators, useful fools, for holding open our southern border, despite the all the obvious risks.
So it was that this strange mix of Republicans, Democrats, lawmakers, Hispanics, Pro-Hispanic organizations, white liberals and 22 million illegal’s came together in a common goal of self-serving interests.
The Mexican government has been teetering on the edge of collapse for many years and they needed that open border too! They use labor exportation like a safety valve to vent off their internal pressure, that at times has been heading towards a full scale revolution. Sending their unemployed north has been a huge help, and so has the dollars they send back to Mexico. This may have been the only thing that has saved Mexico from economic collapse during this great recession.
Currently Mexico’s unemployment is a remarkably low 4%, while the US unemployment hovers around 11% nationally and as high as 25% in some areas.
Caught between the GOP and Democrat special interests for open borders and amnesty were states like Arizona and California. Only Arizona has not be quite as emasculated California and they choose to resist this flood of illegals in the only way they could. They passed a virtual copy of the federal immigration law. This was to send notice to illegals they would be apprehended and deported and equally important it was intended to root out narco-criminals that have caused Phoenix to become the kidnap capital of the West.
A crime wave of murders, robbery, extortion, home invasions and more have followed the illegal immigrants coming up from Mexico.
For having the courage to take a stand, Arizona’s new immigration law has been deliberately misrepresented by the media and politicians with a hidden agenda. The citizens have been attacked and charged with racism akin to Nazi’s. The President of the United States has accused them of being misguided. Their former governor Janet Napalitano Department of Homeland Security Secretary, testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday that she had “deep concerns” with the law and said it could siphon resources needed to target criminals. U.S. Atty. Gen. Eric Holder said he was considering “the possibility of a court challenge.”
“I think that that law is an unfortunate one,” Holder said. “It is, I fear, subject to potential abuse. And I’m very concerned about the wedge that it could draw between communities that law enforcement is supposed to serve and those of us in law enforcement.”
has . Sanctuary cities like San Francisco’s Mayor Gavin Newsom have imposed a boycott on city travel to Arizona. San Francisco Supervisors have taken under consideration a county wide boycott of Arizona.
On Tuesday, seven members of the Los Angeles City Council signed a proposal for a boycott, calling for the city to “refrain from conducting business” or participating in conventions in Arizona. Councilman Ed Reyes, who coauthored the proposal with Councilwoman Janice Hahn, said he wants city officials to spend the next 90 days assessing the financial relationships that exist between various city departments and businesses based in Arizona.
“If Arizona companies are taking our money, I want to sever that,” he said.
Gov. Jan Brewer cast the law in terms of public safety, saying, “We cannot sacrifice our safety to the murderous greed of drug cartels.” Brewer said she would order the state police training agency to formulate guidelines for law enforcement officers. But, it’s not just about the crime, its about the drain on Az resources, in education, healthcare and social services. It’s impacting the quality of life in Arizona and it threatens to turn their state into the same kind cess pool of corruption that haunts Mexico’s states.
