I wonder if U2s still practice “touch and go” at the Chico airport.
I work near the airport Pie, I haven’t seen the U2 in quite awhile but that’s happened before.
The U2 is still around, but it’s role has been dramatically scaled back thanks to drones with the same mission that do it cheaper, faster and with no risk to a pilot. That U2 was an amazing aircraft, especially when you consider it is a 50 year old design. No other military aircraft has lasted this long, not even the venerable B52.
