California Court Strikes Down Ammunition Law!
In an important victory for California gun owners, the Fresno Superior Court ruled today that California’s new ammunition regulation law is unconstitutional, and blocked further enforcement.
The law, passed last year as AB 962, would have banned mail order ammunition sales and required all purchases of so called “handgun ammunition” to be registered. In an unwritten ruling from the bench, Judge Jeffrey Hamilton found the law unconstitutionally vague on its face and issued an injunction against its enforcement. For now, at least, mail order ammunition sales to California residents can continue, and ammunition sales need not be registered under the law.
(there is more to the above article, but in the spirit of cut and paste less, for some readers, I opted for this snippet)
My thoughts; At least this is a step in the direction of Constitutionally correct legislation. This ban was nothing but a politico move and DID NOTHING to keep us safe. The ammunition ban would not have prevented criminals from purchasing or importing ammo in California. It would have put a big problem on the backs of legal gun owners who need practice time to keep their proficiency up. This bill signed by Arnold was in effect a joke as even the Dept of justice (DOJ) have not even attempted to figure out a way to keep the information of sales or apply it to weapon. A government afraid of private gun ownership is a government to be worried about. The second amendment gave us rights, the Liberal Progressive socialist are hell bent in taking them away. If you have time call your local Calif. Assembly person or Senator and tell them to wake up once more the peoples will, and stop imposing these draconian laws that usurp out given rights. This is not over, not by a long shot!
