Why was it that Andy Holcombe, who knows him as a colleague, did not acknowledge this to us at the last Council meeting? What’s Holcombe keeping from the voters that he and Sor lo do not want us to find out until too late?
Sor Lo comments in the Enterprise Record article more than sends up a red flag, in fact they might even be considered racist.
When a non voting, unknown is gathering 3 of the 5 liberal votes for the vacant council seat you can be sure the fix is in and the forth vote is just in the wings to be cast for a 6 to 1 majority again (in my opinion).
Did we not learn that a majority of either side does not work for the people; they just work for their own political ideals? Lets learn from the recent national election, and revisit the results based on all the damage the Democratic Senate, House and Presidency has caused this country so far. With such unbridled control nothing is balanced and only unread half truths are possible. Chico is fast becoming a microcosm of what is so wrong in Politics today, win at any expense, do what you want and let the voter be damned.
If Sor Lo was for real or even concerned for ALL of Chico’s people he would sit this out and run a campaign to win the seat next election, not just have it handed to him in a welfare gesture, so common with Holcombe’s ideology. We the people work for what we want, why is a new politician entitled to a free pass? (And access to our money for their liberal ideals)
This situation calls for a strong response (voice) from ALL Chico voters. This is not right nor left issue, it’s an abuse of the democratic system and it needs to be stopped,
Today’s winners easy become tomorrow’s has-beens when they win through divisive means and in the face of common sense. Sadly though they cause damage while in office.
I encourage everyone to read the article in Fridays the 21st edition of the ER. There should be no place in Chico for this type of corrupt politics, and all voters need to see it for what it is, a shill game!
On the other hand . . .
A MAJORITY of Chicoans did not vote for city council at all.
A non-voter like Mr. Lo certainly reflects the desires of most Chicoans.
Quentin, statistically that is a true statement for most municpal elections, but if a person is uninformed on the issues or the candidates, perhaps it’s best they don’t vote? Makes our vote worth more too!
This is a reply to Q’s comment of ‘A MAJORITY of Chicoans did not vote for city council at all.
A non-voter like Mr. Lo certainly reflects the desires of most Chicoans’
So Q, by justifying blame on ALL the people who do not take part in the election process, you are more than willing to disenfranchise the votes from the rest of us voters. What this current Liberal City Council is doing is eliminating the voters say, and inseminating a unknown or vetted person for their own needs of total control. Also, do not tell me Sor Lo would have been much of a factor in this past election Once he started spewing comments such as those reported, only his closest friends and some out-side fringe factor voters would have voted for him. Chico’s voters are slowly waking up to this group of special interest politicians, hopefully we concerned voters can make a difference and change the balance on the council to reflect the true needs of Chico.
Quentin is incorrect a majority of Chico registered voters did vote for city council. A MAJORITY of them 51% voted for the conservative candidate. No one cares what people that don’t vote think. If they cannot make the time to vote their opinions do not matter to anyone that holds any office. The beauty of our democratic system and representative republic is that the citizens always get the government that they vote for. We will alway have the government that we deserve.
When enough people wake up. They WILL throw all the bums out.
I do not know who came in 4th in the election but why isn’t that person being appointed to the empty seat? Seems to me the 4th place person has as much right to a seat as the 3rd place person.
