eMAIL CHICO COUNCIL ASAP

Posted by Jack

As you may already know, following the most recent city council election, we still have one unfilled seat. This is because Councilman Larry Wahl had to be elected to Supervisor before he vacated his seat on the council. He was elected and now the seat is open, but the current council seems reluctant to appoint the next runner up from the election.

Had Lazrry’s seat been open at the time the ballots were being counted Bob Evans would have been duly elected by the people. Instead of accepting the election process, the council put it up for bid and sought other applicants over the last 30 days.

We believe the the only reason for this was because the runner up was a conservative and the majority of the council are liberals. If you oppose this kind of political tactic to subvert the will of the people, please let them know: You may email them at:

It doesn’t have to be long, just a simple message like: We support Bob Evans for appointment to the vacant city council seat.

    Thanks! Just did.

“Instead of accepting the election process . . .”

Why should they? The neoconned got up there and said they had NO PROBLEM with an appointment.
If the Right has no problem with an appointment, why should the leftists on the council have a problem with an appointment?

Coming in fourth in a three-way race does not make you a winner. Bob Evans does not DESERVE anything.

Q, many people feel otherwise. Bob Evans finished short a mere 127 votes, or there abouts. He was next in line by the vote count and to a lot of people who bothered to vote, well, they would like to see their vote count. And for you and the other candidates, should you all not be in line as seats become open? Time has its limits, but this is right on the heels of the main election.

If you had been the one finishing just out of the money and a seat came open I would be demanding you be appointed. Fair is fair. You should be supporting this Quentin. Who else besides yourself would you rather see get it?

  4. Quentin Colgan says:

I would NOT want to see myself appointed. Therefore, there is no answer to your question.
    An appointment is WRONG.
Though I would work for Bob’s election.

  5. Post Scripts says:

Well that’s graciious of you Quentin, but unfortunately the cost of another election is over $80,000 and it comes at a time when the city can’t afford spending anything they don’t have too. That cost and the fact that the election was just held wouldn’t make a lot of sense to people to hold another so soon. .
