As Chairman of the Butte County Republican Party, I am pleased to announce that Lars Larson will be this year’s guest speaker at our annual Lincoln Reagan Dinner. Based in Portland, Larson is a respected conservative radio talk-show host known for his love of west coast individualism and the outdoors.
Larson is a long-time journalist with experience in many media genres. Growing up in the small town of Tillamook, Oregon, Larson began his career at 16 when he worked as a radio show host for KTIL 1590 AM. With a small group of listeners, Larson made the start of a promising career.
After leaving KTIL, Larson moved to Eugene, Oregon to attend the University of Oregon and became a DJ at the college radio station. After college, Larson worked for multiple television stations including KPTV News in Portland. In 1990, his station won a Peabody Award for the documentary: Mount St. Helen’s: A Decade Later.
While working as a television news reporter, Larson maintained his presence on the radio. He created his own radio show on 750 KXL focused on political topics in the Pacific Northwest and became a popular news commentator. His popularity led the Lars Larson show to be syndicated in 2000.
Today, Larson enjoys a large audience across the nation, particularly in Oregon, Washington and in the North State. Keen for reporting details the liberal media refuses to report, Larson gives his listeners both sides of the story and lets them make their own decisions.
While in town, Larson will be broadcasting live from the historic Diamond Hotel in downtown Chico during the show’s normal airtime from 3 to 6 p.m. on KPAY 1290 AM.
This year’s Lincoln Reagan Dinner will be held at Feather Falls Casino in Oroville, February 18th at 6:00pm. Other speakers include Assemblyman Dan Logue, Senator Doug LaMalfa, Congressman Wally Herger, and of course, the Chairman’s Report from yours truly. Tickets are only $35 for a full service dinner. We look forward to seeing you there!
