NPR Official, Caught on Tape, Insults Republicans, Jews

By Steve Thompson, Chairman of the Butte County Republican Party

At a time when Americans want government to tighten its belt, and when Congressional Republicans are wondering why taxpayers are forced to subsidize a left-of-center newsgroup, this has to be a huge setback for NPR.

One of their top executives was caught on tape pandering to potential donors. If that was it there wouldn’t be a story.

The donors were posing as Muslim philanthropists, with possible ties to the radical Muslim Brotherhood.

The NPR executive slandered Republicans, TEA Partiers, and even Jewish people. Either to win favor with the potential donors, or simply because it’s what he really believed.

He even stated that NPR would be better off without federal funding.

National Public Radio is a favorite for those intellectual elites who consider themselves just a little more culturally advanced than the rest of us. I get that, and I don’t begrudge those on the left having a favorite radio station. I’m in favor of you being able to listen to whatever you want, just not at my expense.

You can hate Rush Limbaugh all you want, but he’s not federally subsidized. If you’re a liberal, your tax dollars aren’t being spent against you. Our federal government is already deep in deficit spending. We can’t afford to pay for every little pet cause out there. It’s time to do some serious cutting.

And now an NPR executive calls Republicans and TEA Partiers “racists” and “radicals”.

Just because we want our country back.

I think NPR just made the list.

At least we have to be scammed into embarrassing ourselves.

Just set the mic down in front of Ms. Bachmann, and off she goes! Not even a nudge does she need.

  2. Tina says:

Oh please Libs…Biden and Obama have made major gaffs, you just choose to ignore them…little snobs that you are.

  3. Quentin Colgan says:

    I listened to the tape.
I missed the attack on Jews.
He attacked the TEA party–and by extension the Republicans. But he also attacked those Democrats who belong to the TEA party as well.
He made reference to the out-there christians who aren’t really Christian–by virtue of being in the TEA party. As a Christian myself, I don’t see those whackos as Christians. MOST Christians see them that way. We’ve seen their fruits–We can tell them.
I think you–and all the other Tories–are trying to stir things up against things getting stirred up. NPR is the only messenger still talking about Liberty is Wisconsin–so, attack the messenger
As the fellow in the tape so correctly points out, the Republicans are trying desparately to dumb dowm Americans. Smart Americans–well moral, smart
    Americans don’t register Republican
And Rush IS federally subsidized–oh yes, sir.
Every day towards the top of the hour he’s got The FBI minute or This Week at the FBI, or something else paid for in cooperation with the ad council–a federal funding agency!!! This week they brought back a classic Library of congress commercial. Three commercials in a row, three times a day–every day. Yeah, Steve, my money IS being spent against me!
BUT, then you probably wouldn’t call Doug LaMalfa’s $4.6 million in welfare payemtns welfare payments!
At least I don’t call you a radical, Steve. Radicals go for new ideas. This TEA Party is just a rehash of the John Birch Society: Find the stupidest people you can, fire their anger AND STEER IT AWAY FROM US–WHO ARE THE REAL CAUSE OF THEIR PROBLEMS TO BEGIN WITH.
    Nope, you’re no radical.
And, I doubt you, yourself are racist. However you know there are plenty of them in your area. You, yourself know that there are plenty of less-than-well-educated people who call themselves Republican and conservative (’tis interesting to note the most conservative state in the US is MIssissippi)! You know that many of your constituents are not smart enough to realize that the man you have been telling them to vote for is responsible for 8 trillion of the 12 trillion dollar National Debt that Obama inherited.
People that ignorant are usually racist too–as it takes brains to not be a racist. You are not a racist, you are a race baiter. You bait the racists with hot-button words and images designed to inflame a less-than-well-educated mind.
    You’re destroying my country, Steve.

  4. Steve says:

Sorry Quentin, but I’m one of the good guys.

You can go around calling everyone who opposes the erosion of our freedoms a traitor, or a tory, or a (gasp) destroyer of “your” country. But that don’t make it so.

I’d accuse you of being a commie leftist who is destroying my country, but you’re not that effective.

And no one is listening to you.

    Bye Quentin.

  5. Tina says:

Q: “As a Christian myself, I don’t see those whackos as Christians. MOST Christians see them that way. We’ve seen their fruits–We can tell them.”

As a Christian, or as a person, you don’t “see” them at all. You judge each of them on the messages of a few and then you presume to speak for “most Christians” as you condemn them as well.

“NPR is the only messenger still talking about Liberty is Wisconsin”

What exactly is NPR saying about Wisconsin that isn’t being said elsewhere?

Are union (democrat) activities in Wisconsin this morning, rioting and broken windows, indicative of more-than-educated liberty loving Americans?

“Republicans are trying desparately to dumb dowm Americans”

How? If you’re going to make charges against Republicans at least back it up with an example or two…otherwise you are just bearing false witness.

“Every day towards the top of the hour he’s got The FBI minute or This Week at the FBI, or something else paid for in cooperation with the ad council…”

These are not EIB (Excellence in Broadcasting) advertisements. They are federally mandated announcements that stations must play BY LAW! They have nothing to do with the shows the radio station host and “most people” probably know that…if not they do now. Your tax money is not used to promote or pay for Rush’s show!

“At least I don’t call you a radical, Steve.”

    Well….unless he’s a Chritian Tea Partier!

“there are plenty of less-than-well-educated people who call themselves Republican and conservative…”

There are plenty of people who are less-than-well- educated who call themselves Democrats and progressive liberals…probably some that call themselves “classic liberals” too…so what’s your point?

“’tis interesting to note the most conservative state in the US is MIssissippi”

    And?

“many of your constituents are not smart enough to realize that the man you have been telling them to vote for is responsible for 8 trillion of the 12 trillion dollar National Debt that Obama inherited.”

And the many trillions that Obama has spent to “fix” that?

“People that ignorant are usually racist too”

Do you have a source for this accusation or are you just channeling?

“You bait the racists with hot-button words and images designed to inflame a less-than-well-educated mind.”

What hot button words would those be? Hmmm…”philanthropists”…”radical Muslim Brotherhood”…”slandered”…gee Q, those words just describe what happened. So where’s the bait?

The man reveals himself to be a bigoted snob with less-than-ethical grounding. It’s amazing that anyone would find him intellectually superior. After the way Juan Williams was treated I suspect this may be an endemic problem at NPR.

Education is no guarantee of brilliance.

  6. Post Scripts says:

Tina I absolutely and 100% agree with you. When people make a wild or inflammatory accusation to disparage a whole group, for example “Republicans are trying to dumb down America,” this needs to be accompanied by some proof. Otherwise its seen by everyone as just pure baloney! Wild statements absent any facts to back it up is just a low smear, undeserving of our attention. But, if there is some basis for it no matter how remote, they should share it with everyone. If they can’t do that then they are wide open for ridicule.
