The Heritage Foundation Has a Plan for the Future

Posted by Tina

By immediately reducing government benefits to the wealthiest Americans, our reforms immediately begin reducing deficits that threaten the economy.

Saving the American Dream is a Heritage Foundation plan to fix the debt, cut spending and Restore Prosperity. Their plan is highlighted by the following:

A tax system that is simple, stable, fair, and pro-growth

Government assistance only to those who truly need help

A permanently balanced federal budget within 10 years

Government reduced to its constitutionally authorized powers

Health coverage for American workers and families through tax credits and premium assistance

A guarantee that no American will have to live in poverty

A commitment to reduce the growing debt that threatens our children and grandchildren

If you want to expand your knowledge and consider new ideas this is a great resource. What I like most about the plan, besides the fact that it is both economically sound and humane, is that it encourages personal responsibility, investment and savings. Wouldn’t it be incredible if thirty years from now the number of people living at the subsistence level was greatly reduced and citizens had a shared experience of being contributing Americans living the American dream?

Or as they said in my day, “Can you dig it?”

What I like best is their plan to raise the median wage to a whopping $31,000 per year by 2020.
Why this is almost three whole percent more than the median wage in 1980!
Three percent in forty years! Not bad. Until you consider that house and cars and fuel etc all cost 100-200% more!
Yup, I’m glad you billionaires have someone watching out for you, Tina. But who watches out for us REAL Americans?

Q: “What I like best is their plan to raise the median wage to a whopping $31,000 per year by 2020.”

Unless you’re willing to give me a page number where it says that I’m going to go with my gut and assume you made that up. You’re such a whiney, disingenuous guy.

How do you suppose the majority of people who make more than $31K do it? Not by waiting for someone else to hand it to them I can assure you.

How many jobs have you produced and how much do you pay?

You also skipped right over the quote at the top didn’t you: By immediately reducing government benefits to the wealthiest Americans, our reforms immediately begin reducing deficits that threaten the economy.

I’m beginning to think there isn’t anything REAL about you. You’re just a great big grumpy, phony balogna, plastic banana kinda guy…with nothing much to offer yourself.

    Child?
Don’t you EVER call me a liar again!
    EVER!
    NOT EVER!
I don’t make stuff up and I don’t cut & pate other crap that’s made up.
I have been listening to their BS commercials all week. they are telling me how wages will go up a $1000 bucks a year in the next ten years–a whopping 3%. Now, Tina, if you’re the one who is so all fired up over these clowns, Why aren’t you listening to what it is you’re all so fired up about? You don’t even know what it is you’re selling! Typical dumas TEAbagger!
Once Again, child, don’t EVER call me a liar again!
    NOT EVER!

Quentin why don’t you calm down and make an attempt at educating our readers on this topic? I don’t know what you heard on the radio but I do know your remarks don’t represent much about the plan. So I’ll ask again, what page of the plan addresses wage increase averages over ten years?

This post is not about a commercial you heard on the radio. The HF plan is broad and far reaching. But let’s pretend a 3% increase is accurate. Does it matter? According to the plan workers would take home more in their paycheck because of the lowered tax rate. Their ability to accumulate wealth through savings and investrment is also greatly improved. That means American ciotizens will be more likely to depend on themselves and take greater resoponsibility in their own lives. It also means the kess fortunate will have a greater chance to improve their conditions or start a business. that would be good for America.

And…3% still beats the stagnation and massive unemployment we are experiencing now!

Since you seem to think it’s so damned easy to pay high wages answer my question, please…How many jobs have you produced and how much do you pay? I ask because, like the idiot in the WH you seem to think wages for people can be pulled out of the bosses a**!

The Heritage Foundation has ideas. You don’t like them. FINE AND DANDY. But why the name calling and contention? From my perspective its because you are incredibly threatened by Heritage…and for some reason ME…WHY? We’re just talking here. You can argue and you can sell a plan you think would be better. Ideas can’t hurt you…what are you afraid of?

Finally sir…you know what you can do with your orders. You are a guest here. I’d appreciate it if you would contribute rather than using this blog as an excuse to harass me.

Please settle down Quentin, nobody is insulting your honor. Look, this is supposed to be a safe place to discuss opinions and we want to keep it that way. If we can’t agree on anything else we certainly should be able to agree on that.
