End of conflict. The fall of Sirte ends and the death of Gaddafi mark the end of a two-month siege and the end of the civil war.
Pictures of Gaddafi are shown on the following website…warning, its gruesome.
Note the new US Army uniforms issued to the rebels? One of the uniforms in the center back was British, all the rest are of US origins. It was either a US drone or NATO jet that blew up Gaddafi’s convoy. One wonders how this would have worked out without direct US assistance. President Obama dispatched Special Forces soldiers to Libya early in the revolt to provide tactical assistance and the Navy and USAF provided relentless strategic bombing of Gaddafi forces.
I just heard they opened a new 7-11 in Ottumwa Iowa being run by a nice middle eastern man.
Ah ha! Good find Toby.
Now Libyans can concentrate on more important things like oppressing, suppressing, terrorizing, and murdering what few Christians are left who haven’t fled the country.
You know, like is happening to Christians in Egypt and Tunisia.
Its the Arab Spring. The Islamic Easter.
By the time the shit hits the fan and we find out what a true mess has been unleashed on the world, Obama will be well out of Office and the Left will have forgotten how they got us into it.
Why do I get the feeling that Toby is frequently less-than-civil to the entrepreneurial small business owners along I-5?
Toby, anybody with half a brain can read between the lines of your post some really … unpleasant … stuff.
Now, Pie … he just comes right out with it.
Wow. Now Libby insinuates that I have a problem with business on I-5 based on … um … er… what?
Libby, you are an unabashed, mindless bigot packed full of unpleasant stuff. Are you under professional care?
Just more drive by snot from Libby.
Substantial rebuttal?
Toby: “…Obama will be well out of Office and the Left will have forgotten how they got us into it.”
And don’t forget spinning reasons why the Republicans did it.
Dude, read what you wrote.
Like I said, the rhetorical skills of an eight-year-old boy.
And boogers to you too.
ROFLMAO at Libby. I-5 really?
Re Libby’s Substantial Rebuttal: “Dude, read what you wrote. Like I said, the rhetorical skills of an eight-year-old boy. And boogers to you too.”
Wow, more of the drive by snot that Libby is famous for. Zzzzzz.
Libby, I don’t have to read it. I wrote it. To repeat —
“Now Libyans can concentrate on more important things like oppressing, suppressing, terrorizing, and murdering what few Christians are left who haven’t fled the country.
You know, like is happening to Christians in Egypt and Tunisia.
Its the Arab Spring. The Islamic Easter.”
The Islamist party is poised to win Tunisia elections —

Local Egyptians react to violence against Coptic Christians

Libby, substantial rebuttal? I am waiting.
(Actually, I am not waiting. Libby has nothing and is nothing outside of being a minor annoyance. I am not even waiting for another big fat zero from Libby. I have come to expect them.)
I was not sure why Obama went to war in Libya but know I can think of 200 billion reasons why Soros sent Obama into Libya.
Actually I think the way Obama has handled Libya is one of his successes. He kept us out of it for the most part, (no significant boots on the ground) and a despot is taking a dirt nap.
But what is coming down the pike is no picnic and will likely not be much of an improvement.
I projected that, since the death of Gaddafi, Libya can now “concentrate on more important things like oppressing, suppressing, terrorizing, and murdering what few Christians are left who haven’t fled the country.”
Mustafa Abdul Jalil, Chairman of the National Transitional Council of Libya, has announced Islamic Sharia law will be the “basic source” of legislation for the new government. Legislation that, presumably, will be the foundation of the Libyan government.
What do you have to say to that, Libby? Or should I start calling you Libbya?
Do you have a substantial rebuttal? I mean anything substantial besides your declaration that I have “the rhetorical skills of an eight-year-old boy.”
C’mon Libbya, Give us your considered analysis of the situation.
I am waiting.
(Actually I am not, neither am I waiting for hell to freeze over. That was just a little rhetorical joke using Libbya’s favorite drive-by non-sequiter.)
Re Libby’s Substantial Rebuttal: “Dude, read what you wrote. Like I said, the rhetorical skills of an eight-year-old boy. And boogers to you too.”
Wow, more of the drive by snot that Libby is famous for. Zzzzzz.
… Well, I tried.
It really is stickin’ in your craw, ain’t it? … the fact that the thing seems to have come off without too much grief. Another foreign policy success for the O-man!
But you are quite right. The removal of all these “strong-men” (some of them, most of them, in fact, installed at U.S. coniving) is likely to be very problematic to people who drive Hummers.
But here’s the deal: either you believe all the people on this planet are entitled to manage their own affairs as they democratically see fit … or you do not.
If you do not, admit it.
Regarding Libya specifically, the fact that one of the key guys in the transitional government is intimately acquainted with CIA policies and procedures does not bode well for our future relationship, but we will just have to deal with things as they come up.
(And there isn’t a single biological excresence named in any of these paragraphs.)
Re two posts: blah, blah, blah … It really is stickin’ in your craw, ain’t it? blah, blah blah.
Libbya,
Evidently you missed me crediting Obama for his approach in Libya. (In another thread.)
As for “substantive rebuttal” …
“But here’s the deal: either you believe all the people on this planet are entitled to manage their own affairs as they democratically see fit … or you do not.”
Straw man, Libbya. Boy howdy, are you tough on straw! have you tried windmills yet?
I never said anything that even resembled that. However, you seem to imply that “either you believe all the people on this planet are entitled to manage their own affairs as they democratically see fit even if they oppress, repress, terrorize, and murder women, homosexuals, Christians, and any others who cross Sharia, or you do not.
Yep, not for that, Libbya. A big yep. I’m agi’n it. And there is the difference ‘tween you and me. In a nutshell.
I sort of feel sorry for you Libbya. You taint got nothing but incoherent confusion. I expected no less. Maybe you should start wearing a Burka and join your sisters in the Middle East. (That is if any of then would even want to have anything to do with you. At least the more enlightened and independent ones who are not Muslim chattel.)
Libbya’s Grade: FAIL
Oops. Just back to check for a substantive rebuttal from Libbya and saw an error (or rather ommission).
In the above it should have read —
False dichotomy and straw man, Libbya. Boy howdy, are you tough on straw! Have you tried windmills yet?
No substantive rebuttal yet and likely none will be forthcoming. At least I got two fallacies for the price of one out of the old girl. Caaaa-chinggg!
“Re two posts: blah, blah, blah … It really is stickin’ in your craw, ain’t it? blah, blah blah.”
Shall I … or anybody else … read further?
No.
Oh, dear. Have you heard the latest? Gadaffi is not merely dead … he is raped and summarily executed.
I’m not a big fan of the menfolk. No. I’m not.
Substantive rebuttal, Libbya?
Still waiting …
Nothing?
LOL
Libby: “Oh, dear. Have you heard the latest?”
Do you suppose they marandized him first?
Why was he not arrested and tried?
My oh my what a tangled web.
