Just wanted to let you know the Butte County Taxpayers Association has elected a new Board of Directors. The BTA’s Mission Statement says they exist to help us keep government fair, honest and accountable to the people. A challenging and worthy cause for sure, however, they also help educate the voters as they take positions on local legislation and hold candidate forums.
According to their new President, Rev. Laurel Tower of Chico, the BTA intends to be very active in 2012 elections. They will be acting as a non-partisan, but conservative voice, for the taxpayer and as a voter resource on fiscal issues.
Here is a link to their new website. BTA. Check their Hot Issues tab and you’ll find several of our political articles there.
We wish them much success – they’ve got a real tough job ahead of them for 2012!
Tough indeed!
Jack I join you in wishing the BTA much success. It sounds like they are focused, loaded for bear, and off to a good start. I’m glad they found some of our posts useful to their purposes.
Pie and Tina, one thing is they are well funded and have an very experienced Board of Directors. Their are no strings how they spend their money, other than they can’t and wouldn’t, spend money on candidates. The BTA is going to be a very helpful organization with powerful friends in government.
Re Jack’s: “The BTA is going to be a very helpful organization with powerful friends in government.”
Works for me! Best wishes for the BTA.
