Headlines in the News Today!

by Jack Lee

There is a lot in the news today! It looks like a huge number of GOP voters are saying they wish a new candidate would enter the race for president. We have about 9 months to go before we will have a nominee, however about 33% of the GOP voters are saying, we want none of the above. This according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll. Meanwhile Newt Gingrich continues to gather backers and strengthen his lead over Mitt Romney.

Last night President Obama delivered his State of the Nation address and it was perhaps one of his best speeches ever. He looked poised, confident and forceful. If ONLY his soaring rhetoric would match his actions even I would be voting for him! But, everything Obama said could be dismantled by asking one question, a question first posed by Ronald Reagan, “Are you better off now than you were four years ago?”

As the president’s speech came to a close the news was already breaking that the same Seal Team that took out bin Laden had just rescued two hostages from Somali pirates. One of the hostages was an American. All nine armed pirates were killed and the hostages were removed safely by helicopter.

It was a picture perfect rescue and the timing couldn’t have been better for Obama, then again the timing was not accidental.

I wonder how many of the “republicans” in the NBC poll voted for Obama? If Newt were not doing so well, this poll and its results would have never seen the light of day.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — More American adults lacked health insurance coverage last year than in any year since Gallup and Healthways started tracking it in 2008. The uninsured rate has been increasing since 2008, climbing to 17.1% in 2011./blockquote>

According to a Kaiser Family Foundation study of employer-provided health insurance plans, the ObamaCare health reform law could have accounted for as much as 50 percent of the spike in insurance premiums in 2011.

The Employer Health Benefits Survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation, which specializes in health care issues, found that health insurance premiums had jumped by 9 percent in 2011, up from a 5 percent annual increase since 2007.

The man who goes to extremes is full of emotion but lacking in facts.

But all your leading lights! Ms. Coulter, Mr. Limbaugh, they are all saying such mean things about the Newt!
