Budget: If We Could Just Sprinkle a Little Pixie Dust

President Obama’s new budget proposal is out and its filled to the brim with the same brand of tax and spend policies the President favors. The proposal is being called a political document and indeed it is designed to create resentment and win votes as he once again insists we must stick it to those who produce and invest to timulate the economy and make life fair. This covetous Keynesian plan hasn’t worked to improve conditions for Americans over three long years, in fact it has done just the opposite with more Americans needing a hand out, few job opportunities and inflation biting at our heels. Given the frustration most of us have I thought it might be interesting to talk about what would happen if we could sprinkle a little pixie dust and empower Republicans to enact their budget and tax proposals for growth in the economy and a smaller, more efficient government. The folks at National Review provide information that suggests Americans would experience a totally different, very dynamic recovery. The GOP proposal would:

…repeal Obamacare; place a firm limit on how much in taxes Washington can take from our paychecks; require federal bureaucracies to think before they regulate; restore considerable authority and decision-making power to state governments; and alter the structural DNA of two of the Big Three entitlement programs — Medicare and Medicaid. (Fundamental overhaul of Social Security, it seems, will have to wait.).

I’m ready to try it, BUT…reality intrudes! It’s true America needs a different path to prosperity than the Democrats have offered but pixie dust won’t get the job done. We do have an opportunity to change the widening spiral of high unemployment and big government spending, irrational regulation, and punishing taxation next November. The fate of the nation is in our hands. How will it turn out? Are we Greece or are we the proud American republic our founders envisioned…free people working to improve ourselves and our posterity.

What will America do? Will we continue in this death march to become exactly like Greece or will we pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and make the choice to turn around and free ourselves from bloated bureaucracies and stifling government taxation and control so that prosperity and opportunity can return for all Americans?

The GOP believes that empowering the American people to act in their own self interest, will create a thriving economy with plenty of jobs for everyone and enough revenue to fund a smart, efficient government. We’ve seen it work before in the 1960’s under Democrat President John F. Kennedy and again under Ronald Reagan (see chart at right) in the 1980’s. The choice is clear: On the one hand we have a bloated unsustainable government controlling our choices and making promises it cannot keep and on the other a plan to free the people and reduce the bloated government.

Vote smart America, our future depends on you.

One Response to Budget: If We Could Just Sprinkle a Little Pixie Dust

  1. Post Scripts says:

Barrack Obama, “I will cut the deficit by half in my first four years” Hmmm…well, that’s what he said and what did he do? He’s about to add another trillion and a half and he’s bumped the deficit up over 5 trillion on his watch.

If we re-elect this guy we’re more stupid than EVEN I could imagine.
