The L.A. Times released several old photos showing a few US Army and Afghan personnel holding up body parts of suicide bombers created yet another investigation into military conduct.
The immediate response from most of our citizens was a resounding, so what?
If the world wants to be outraged, then maybe they should give some attention to the Taliban that recently tried to poison the drinking water of 150 little school girls. The reason: They didn’t want them going to school, can you believe these savages? This is one sick, demented country and leading the pack of ultra-nitwits are the ultra Muslim zealots. Fortunately, no deaths were reported, although at least one girl was hospitalized in very serious condition, many others required overnight hospitalization or were treated and released before the poison could do permanent damage.
The pictures of the suicide bombers were 2 years old and not a thing can be done about it now. Dragging it into the headlines does nobody any good, except for the Taliban and the L.A. Times knows that.
The soldier who ratted out his brothers said he was merely trying to show the breakdown in discipline 2 years ago, but that has no bearing on anything today. However, its another morale killer for the troops tasked to serve in that rat hole. It was not disclosed how much the L.A. Times paid for the pictures, (if any) but I’ll bet they paid plenty. No doubt our soldiers in Afghanistan will also pay…now, thanks to the rat and the L.A. Times. I would like to know the name of that soldier, far more than the names of anyone holding up a body part.
“I would like to know the name of that soldier, far more than the names of anyone holding up a body part.”
Ah, yes … death to the snitch … and the code of the schoolyard prevails. Who’s the savage, again?
Seriously, Jack, I think this attitude is beneath you. Do you really think it’s better for the American public not to know when our military does things like this? The “rat” as you call him was doing his patriotic duty. Of course exposing incidents like this is helpful; it motivates military personnel to make extra sure that things like this don’t happen again.
“If the world wants to be outraged, then maybe they should give some attention to the Taliban that recently tried to poison the drinking water of 150 little school girls.”
But of course, we hold our soldiers to higher expectations. It’s shocking when our military dishonors their code of ethics; it is not at all shocking when the Taliban continues its abuse of human life and human rights. And of course we’re outraged about them too–we’re at war with them, are we not?
When are we going to get those soldiers home? How long are we supposed to wait? When Bush ran against Kerry we were told we had to vote for Bush because we were in the middle of two wars and we needed consistency. Now what is the answer? Keep Obama in place so more of our soldiers can die or come home broken?
War creates the men who do these things. Why the rush into it and the failure to rush out?
And I agree with Libby on this one, enough with the attacks on whistleblowers. We already know that these same things and worse are happening today. What do you think has changed in two years that would indicate there is more discipline over there.
If things like this make the American people wake up and demand an end to the war then bring it on. Just bring them home.
So where are the pictures of what the enemy has done to our service personnel and their own countrymen? If the media can post pictures of a young and innocent looking Treyvon Martin why couldnt they find even one file picture of our soldiers the Taliban burnt and hung upside down. Possibly the real story here is the stress and related effects this war has placed on our soldiers. The lopsided bias of the media that spends more time discussing the latest road rage incident then they ever would accurately reporting the mutilation of our people fighting to preserve American freedoms. War is one terrible side effect of peoples need to flee from a tyranny that eliminates personal choice of freedom we Americans so often take for granted, even though we earned through the very same process, right or wrong oppression cannot always be eliminated with false promises of ruthless dictators and hopeful diplomats. History has proven this time and time again.
If you missed retired Lt. Col. Ralph Peters on America Live with Megan Kelley yesterday it is worth watching. He makes very valid points against LA Times printing the pictures and the lack of support for the troops from our leaders.

Don’t you just love the “outrage”? I am just glad to see Chris has help carrying that water, wouldn’t want him to hurt himself.
Chris don’t be so naive. Why do you assume he was doing his patriot duty when he sold the pictures to the times? I think he was an opportunist trying to make money. If he was really that concerned he would have reported the incident to his C/O immediately, he would have said something when it might have done some good, but he didn’t. He waited a long, long time until he came forward and then he didn’t go to the Army…he SOLD the pictures to a big news paper.
Hi Princess, I agree. The American people don’t want to sacrifice their sons and daughter and money to an endless, pointless war for some rat hole of country that will never, never love us and has a culture as backward as any on the face of the earth. Why are we still screwing around there? Why? It’s a sink hole. The people are Muslims, hardcore Muslims, and they have been for 800 hundred years and they basically hate us. There is nothing we can fix there that will undue that.
If that rock pile was vaporized in by a huge meteor the world would have lost nothing. Actually, we would be better off. This is another Sodom…let the brimstone fall.
As always, excellent comments Pie…You are right on.
Need to know? Hardly. Some military personnel cut up some dead Taliban dirt-bags they killed in a battle. Not a good idea, but, you know, war is hell. Some dopes posed for photographs. Perhaps they were a bit pissed off that day, or week, or month. I won’t hold it against them, but I would advise against such behavior. At least don’t photograph it.
The only people who care about this are people who, at their core, hate the US military and hate the US. It is useful to them. You know who they are.
Should we hold our soldiers to higher ethical standards? Perhaps. But before some soft, brain-dead, namby-pamby, Progressive pansy-ass, milksop, mommy’s boy, knee-jerk punk goes spouting off about battlefield “ethics” he or she should spend some time in the battlefield with his or her ass on the line 24/7.
Beware, the following video might give Progressives diaper rash —

Good job LA Times in aiding and abetting people who love to hate the US!
From the LA Times story —
The soldiers felt a sense of triumph and satisfaction, especially after learning that the insurgents had been killed by their own explosives, he said.
“They were frustrated, just pissed off their buddies had been blown up by IEDs” improvised explosive devices the soldier said. “So they sort of just celebrated.”
The photos were taken during a tumultuous period in the brigade’s deployment.

It was inaccurate of me to have written: “Some military personnel cut up some dead Taliban dirt-bags they killed in a battle.”
For that I apologize.
The Taliban had been killed and dismembered by their own device and some rat bastard, back stabbing, Progressive slut merely captured some photos of his fellow grunts amidst the body parts and then sold them (two years after the fact) to make a little scratch.
OH, THE ETHICS, THE ETHICS!
I have to wonder, how does it feel to betray the very people you relied on to cover your sorry ass, Private Dirt-Bag? Some buddy. All for a few dollars.
What I can’t believe is the Pentagon has launched a “full investigation”. It is like they want to take a giant crap on the very people on the ground doing the job. Talk about a morale killer. How are those recruitment figures going? No doubt there are more than a few Progressives entrenched in the upper echelons of the Pentagon.

Hamid Karzai reacts —
Taliban trophy photographs ‘disgusting’ —
“It is such a disgusting act to take photos with body parts and then share it with others.”
“The only way to put an end to such painful experiences is through an accelerated and full transition of security responsibilities to Afghan forces.”
Pie: “How are those recruitment figures going?”
Not well…just read last night they are pulling national Guard off the southern border because of the low recruiting numbers.
The young people who choose to serve this country deserve our thanks, our prayers, our reverence and respect…and our dollars as many of them come home only to face more stressful challenges.
The dirt bag already has his reward and it includes a lot of contempt from those who support our troops.
I have to tell you, if I were twenty years old again, I wouldn’t join the military until Obama was long gone from office. What is the point of joining knowing I would be on the $hit list for speaking my mind about my corrupt, incompetent, dangerous, amateur leader?
Jack: “If that rock pile was vaporized in by a huge meteor the world would have lost nothing.”
Except for, you know, the millions of innocent human beings who live there. People who are suffering far worse than you ever have or ever will because of the evil scumbags who want to keep Afghanistan in the dark ages forever.
Your anger at the Taliban may be huge, but I assure you it is DWARFED by what most of these people are feeling. Your callous disregard for the lives of those people, your assertion that they should just be collateral damage and nothing more, is disgusting and unjustifiable.
Chris you talk with a good deal of authority on Afghanistan, that’s great I’ve been waiting to talk to someone who knows all about this country. How long were you there? Do you speak Pashtun? Could you tell us about the 10 klans and some of their customs?
What do you know about the Zeidnat Hazaras? How about Haqqani network and Hezbi Islami, what do you know about them and their politics? Like em or no?
I did not mean to speak with a “good deal of authority” on Afghanistan, Jack–I don’t think it takes much factual knowledge about the country to understand that there are millions of innocent people there whose lives matter. You didn’t seem to realize that when you wrote your little annihilation fantasy, and you still don’t seem to realize that now.
I’m not terribly impressed that you can throw around a few different names of tribes and languages in Afghanistan, when you just publicly wished that all of the members of those tribes and all of the speakers of those languages would be killed by an act of God.
