Rumor has it that the City of Chico misspent $961,000 of RDA money it received in January of 2012. Allegedly the money was spent on items forbidden by the State under the strict terms and conditions of RDA funding and the State wants their money back.

This City has literally lost millions over the recent years due to bad decisions/management and now here we go again. Well like they say in Washington, a million here and a million there and suddenly we’re talking a lot of money. Does Chico even have an extra million laying around to give back? Maybe they could have a garage sale?

Geez, just when you think we’ve seen an end to the string of financial disasters that have rocked this City and then something like this pops up! Whats next?

——————————————————–

We REALLY need a new City Council!!!!! in Nov. here are the people we need to elect… please take note. They are in no particular order, EVANS, SORENSEN, SCHINDELBECK, MORGAN and COOLIDGE.

So, Jack … you gonna run?

We need to get some commitment out of Evans, a simple statement that he will require Tom Lando to bring in a petition with the required number of signatures before his sales tax increase measure is place on the ballot. That’s all I’ve asked of Bob – a simple pledge – and he won’t answer.

Bob, I’m asking you here again – we know Tom Lando is planning to ask council for a special election in 2013 to bring forward his sales tax increase measure – will you require him to bring forward the petition before you vote to hold that election?

Evans has been in on conversations about this measure down at the Chamber, and he’s not talking. All I’m asking for is a simple statement.

As for Morgan and Coolidge – they need to get out there and run a campaign. They are acting like puppets right now, with no real ideas of their own, just a lot of little sound bytes intended to make them sound as though they know the issues. They’re not showing me anything Jack.

If it doesn’t get better, I’m going to launch a write in campaign, and you don’t want to know who I intend to dig up. But he’s always been a pretty decent vote getter. And don’t forget, Herrera didn’t do too bad last time either, he’s still around.

    don’t make me do it.

Interesting that Vallejo, Stockton, San Bernadino are going bankrupt or on the verge and all are run by democrats. Hopefully Chico can avoid it.

  4. Bill says:

Rumor? Where is your proof? And where is your proof that bad decisions have cost the city millions? What are you talking about?

It sounds like you just want to smear the good progressives that have made this city great!

  5. Jim says:

This woulden’t surprise me a bit considering the incompetent fiscal management we have here in Chico. However more details would be helpful.

  6. Post Scripts says:

Jim, the details will be arriving soon I’m sure, but for now this is all that we know.

  7. Rick Clements says:

Bill do us all a favor, why don’t you ask the Council for the proof and see how fast they oblige you, better yet, how fast they ignore you.
