Gang Attack on CSUC Campus

by Jack Lee

Just after midnight this morning 7 persons attacked a lone student on campus, stealing his backpack and stabbing him in the back after they failed to get his laptop computer. The description was: Seven, 17-year-old males, wearing dark pants and hoodie sweatshirts, several with white bandanas covering their faces.

So I want you all to be on the lookout for seven, 17 year old males, with dark pants and wearing hoodie sweatshirts, a few of them will have their faces covered with white bandanas. When you spot them will you point them out to police?

I’m joking of course, this was an absurd description, why bother to give such a vague description?

Just knowing their [race] would go a long way to narrowing it down. Normally you have the race or races known immediately because it’s one of the first thing the police ask the victim, 1. sex and race 2. age 3. height and weight and in that order.

Unless. . . unless you are from one of those politically correct police agencies that never releases race because its against department policy. They don’t want to risk offending anyone who might be a member of the suspect’s race.

I wondered if this is what was going on here? But, getting beyond that, what about the weight, the height, the facial hair, hair color, or hair length? How about the type and color of shoes, tattoos, type of knife, i.e., folding pocket knife or hunting knife or machete? How about the color of the hoodies? Often times hoodie color indicates their gang affiliation. So much was missing it makes me very suspicious why they wouldn’t want to say?

Now I called them a gang even though the police and new media didn’t, because they are a gang: Seven teens of the same approximate age, all wearing hoodies, carrying knives and the seven just all coincidentally agree to do an armed robbery together after midnight? Whether its an organized gang or not…it’s still a gang attack! This is a bad situation and it deserves more attention to detail than what we are getting.

The only excuse the police have for NOT releasing more detail is if they already know the identities or strongly suspect a group and they want to keep it on the down low. That would make sense and in this case the right way to handle would be to just say, right now the police do not wish to release any further details to the public. Fine, no problem, but don’t treat us like we’re idiots. The public deserves to know more because this is for their own safety and the parents ought to be alerted in case they have their suspicions. How do seven teens go out after midnight and the parents don’t? This is why I am doing a follow up, and if can get a better description I will let you know.
