A quick look: Politics is a strange game and sometimes it gets downright bizarre. For instance, did you ever think you would see the day when republicans would be introducing legislation for the iconic liberal… Jerry Brown?
It’s true, republicans are actually backing Jerry’s pension reforms. It involves a sort of hybrid plan that includes a 401k. A similar plan was turned down by dems in Congress when W proposed it. It’s a great plan and its much needed – it’s a plan that is enough to make any republican proud, but this time it came from the most unlikely source, Gov. Jerry Brown. Of course every democrat in both houses are determined to oppose it, they are in the hip pocket of those big unions who bought them long ago. Guess, they didn’t buy ol Jerry!
That’s not all, the tax on micro brewed beer (done in wood kegs) has been rolled back to be the same as any other beer manufacturer. Their tax went from $3 a gallon on the really good stuff down to .20 cents a gallon, same as Sierra Nevada pays. Guess dems like their specialty brews, but they don’t want to pay the higher price?
And how about this regulatory reform, baked goods can now be legally sold from the home, so long as you don’t gross more than $50K a year doing it. It’s a little something to help struggling families get through these lean times by earning a little money on the side…you could call it a bake sale break-thru. Did ya hear that Rush, dems are supporting a [bake sale] to encourage small business…amazing!
I swear its all true, I warned you it would be hard to believe.
Just encourages me to think that not all politicians are half baked nor drunk enough to realize small business pays their way. Cheers to common sense!

Amtrak’s $16 burger vs. McDonald’s $1 burger

Well, you guys are just not hip to this organic foodie culture thing that is positively raging down here. You’re not supposed to eat either the McDonalds or the Amtrak burger. You are supposed to buy a $5 jar of pickled beans from you neighbor … eat that with your brown rice and miso all week and get well nourished, but skinny.
Whatcha call yer major paradigm shift.
