Lessons Not Learned from 9/11/2001

by Jack Lee

I’m telling you folks this Benghazi incident has legs, this is big. I knew it when it first went down and as the facts come out, it gets worse with every passing day. This is bigger than Watergate and I don’t care what the MSM says, nobody died because of Watergate! This is a scandal and the White House owns it!

I am absolutely convinced this was a cover up for political reasons, some of the “why” may never be fully known, but it was a cover up none the less. And this means there are people who need to be held accountable, how else can we be sure it will never happen again?

We must establish deadly serious rules for engagement, so there are no delays when help is required to save lives. We had them in place, but apparently some people in high places thought they were just suggestions. This is what must change! To do that we must turn that CYA business that Jerry Hargrove talked about, on it’s ear and make the cowards pay dearly for their deception and failure to protect America.

We must make those CYA oriented bureaucrats accountable. We don’t want/need such timid people in those positions!

We need to send the message to everyone, starting with the staffers in Washington: We are Americans and we are the strongest nation on earth, you don’t attack American Ambassadors or our people without an immediate response! We want everyone to know there will be Hell to pay, starting with our own leaders who let it happen on their watch and failed to do their duty!

Strange that “All the President’s Men” was on TCM last night. In addition to being a good movie, it gives great insight as to how Watergate unraveled.

The alphabet networks seem unwilling/unable to ask questions about Benghazi. And as more info is uncovered and released, mainly by Fox, the similarities to the Watergate cover-up are chilling.

Fox News seems to be to Behghazigate what the Washington Post was to Watergate. Thank you, Fox News.

I believe that the main reason this has been covered up is because of the current election. There are those that maintain Obama’s foreign policy has been wonderful for our country. I dont buy into the theory that by being passive it makes our country safer.
I am not a hawk, however, I do believe that we need to defend our citizens, property, and interests from those that would harm us.
I also believe that saying the Ft. Hood attack was simply workplace violence was a major stretch. It too was an act of terrorism with the culprit associating with a known terrorist prior to his assault. By not calling it an act of terror, Obama’s supporters can say there havent been any under his watch.
Unfortunately, our ambassador and three other Americans lost their lives while our administration watched in the situation room.
We have lost respect of other countries by our unwillingness to stand up for and defend our citizens from these attacks. It is unfortunate that those in a position to be able to act have been neutered by this administrations policies.

The situation in Libya prior to the murderous deaths of these brave Americans was so dire that England pulled their embassy entirely from the country. If money was the big factor here wouldn’t closing the embassy and bringing everyone home make more sense than leaving that poor man there without proper guard?

Retired Lt. Colonel: Obama was watching..

Retired Army Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer said Saturday he has sources saying President Barack Obama was in the room at the White House watching the assault on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya unfold.

    Side Note:

Pete Weber’s memorial service yesterday reflected the love of family and country he held deep within.

Your words Jack and the others told of the wonderfaul man Pete was and just how much he’ll be missed.

A special tribute was made by their attendance and shared grief by Doug LaMalfa, Jim Nielsen, Bob Williams, their staff, Republican Women, Tea Party and BTA members and Mike Ramsey for Pete’s years of service to making our community and state a better place for everyone.

  8. Tina says:

RHT447 reading through the letter I was struck by the many signs that point to weak leadership and I don’t even fully understand all of the fine points being a civilian.

  9. Chris says:

Peggy, the link you posted comes complete with a denial from the CIA that any help was refused:

“CIA spokeswoman Jennifer Youngblood, though, denied the claims that requests for support were turned down.

“We can say with confidence that the Agency reacted quickly to aid our colleagues during that terrible evening in Benghazi,” she said. “Moreover, no one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need; claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate. In fact, it is important to remember how many lives were saved by courageous Americans who put their own safety at risk that night-and that some of those selfless Americans gave their lives in the effort to rescue their comrades.””

  10. Harold Ey says:

People know that weve been lied to about the attacks in Benghazi, but until most recent disclosure of facts (without the help of an bias media) few realized the extent of those lies or the hidden secrets they cover. After all, the lie is different at every level. Recently information from a well placed source with extensive knowledge about the attack; the TRUTH is slowly beginning to emerge.
As we had been told originally (Per White House releases) Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed during a spontaneous protest in Benghazi by a frenzied crowd of Muslims outraged over an obscure internet video., well we now know that to be BS! Just to preserve Obamas re-election chances!
Recently released sensitive but not classified e-mails from Stevens to the U.S. Department of State stated the need for more security at the embassy, The failure to dispatch ANY security personnel or otherwise rescue the men from a firefight that lasted upwards of nine tortuous hours was not the result of any intelligence failure. No this White House could not admit its involvement in the Middle East because of 2012 elections, and they basically sacrificed 4 lives for re-election reasons.
First, it is important to understand that Ambassador Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Dougherty and Tyrone Woods were not killed at a consulate office in Benghazias there is no such office there. They died at one of the largest CIA operations centers in the Middle East, which was located in Benghazi and served as the logistics headquarters for arms and weapons being shipped out of the post-Qaddafi Libya.
The U.S. government insisted that Stevens was involved in securing and destroying the numerous caches of arms and weapons once under the control of Qaddafi, the operation was more than that. The visual accounts of weapons being destroyed were indeed real, but those weapons were not operational. Working weapons were actually separated and transported to US holding facilities for their eventual use in Syria. Russia was fully aware of this operation and warned the U.S. not to interfere! It is because of the discovery of this US activity by Russian intelligence the White House is trying to reinvent and distance itself from the Benghazi attack.

    From FB Post.

Call the Networks – Melt Their Phones Down until they report on the Benghazi cover-up

    NBC Phone: (212)-664-3720
    ABC Phone: (212)-456-7777
    CBS Phone: (212-975-4321

  12. Peggy says:

More interesting then the left-wing slant written by Yahoo News is the comments condemning Obama and holding him responsible.

  13. Libby says:

Yes, we are getting a fairly strong impression that you prefer commentary to fact. That makes you a very dangerous citizen, I have to say.

  14. Libby says:

“We must establish deadly serious rules for engagement ….”

Jack, these are embassies, not army bases. You are insisting on stuff that is not diplomatically, legally or even, physically possible in real time.

And this “we are the biggest dog on the block” mentality is just … so not relevant to the real world. You need to chill.

  15. Peggy says:

The danger is ignoring the facts like you choose to do. You need a bigger bucket to carry for Obama.

Notice you keep posting during work hours. Do you really get paid to play on the web or do you just feel entitled to instead of earning your salary?

  16. Chris says:

Peggy: “Notice you keep posting during work hours. Do you really get paid to play on the web or do you just feel entitled to instead of earning your salary?”

Now this is just uncalled for, not to mention hypocritical. Jack and Tina post and comment at all hours of the day, but I’ve never seen you imply that they are somehow shirking their societal obligations. You don’t know what Libby’s or anybody else’s work schedule is like, so it would be wise to not resort to petty assumptions like this.

So far all claims of wrongdoing by the president in regards to Libya have been dubious. The CIA says that FOX News was wrong, and that no help was denied. Obama called it an act of terror the day after. While much was made of the video, the administration never said it was the only cause of the attack, and there was evidence that some of the mob had gathered in response to the video. I do think the administration should have been louder and clearer in their reaction to this tragedy, but I think claims of some kind of cover-up are overblown and without basis. What motivation could the administration have had for intentionally lying about any of this? It doesn’t make sense to me.

  17. Peggy says:

Ok, Libby lets see you attack the father of Ty Woods.

Charles Woods: ‘Cowards’ in the White House ‘murdered’ my son

    http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/hannity/2012/10/29/charles-woods-cowards-white-house-murdered-my-son

  18. Libby says:

And I have noticed that resentment, in all its multitudinous forms, is a key component of the “conservative” character.

(That took 15 seconds, and put me a very cheerful and productive mood. The employer can see the value in this)

  19. Libby says:

FoxNews would not prey on grief stricken people if you, Peggy, did not make a market for it.

(And there’s another 15 seconds shot to hell.)

  20. Peggy says:

The “grief stricken people” have a right to be heard too. Where was your prodigious haranguing of the Cindy Sheehan coverage. Shes even earned a page on Wikipedia. Note shes, a vocal critic of President Barack Obamas foreign policy. But its not deemed news worthy since shes speaking out against the BO. She got dumped by the democrats when she couldnt be used any more to promote their agenda which was guaranteed to be picked up by the MSM.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peace_Mom

    Cindy Sheehan
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

“Cindy Lee Miller Sheehan (born July 10, 1957) is an American anti-war activist whose son, U.S. Army Specialist Casey Sheehan, was killed by enemy action during the Iraq War. She attracted national and international media attention in August 2005 for her extended anti-war protest at a makeshift camp outside President George W. Bush’s Texas rancha stand that drew both passionate support and angry criticism. Sheehan ran unsuccessfully for Congress in 2008. She is a vocal critic of President Barack Obama’s foreign policy. Her memoir, Peace Mom: A Mother’s Journey Through Heartache to Activism, was published in 2006.”

Libs, Youre just a typical progressive left-leaning, drank the Kool-Aid, water carrier who believe the First Amendment only applies to those you approve.

Mr. Woods has as much right to speak out as Ms. Sheehan did whether you like it or not.

  21. Chris says:

Of course the grieving father has a right to speak. No one said otherwise, so why are you baselessly accusing people of not believing in the First Amendment, Peggy? That’s completely unwarranted.

I feel for this man. His son was a hero. But as far as I’m aware he does not have any information the rest of us don’t have. And he may be getting his information from the very same sources who are wanting to exploit him for political gain. I think the administration needs to clear up the issues and rebuke the false rumors as soon as possible so that he can get the answers he deserves.

  22. Peggy says:

“FoxNews would not prey on grief stricken people if you, Peggy, did not make a market for it.”

Others Chris on this blog seem to feel differently. With the MSM NOT covering this deeming it NOT news worthy Mr. Woods is speaking out in the only media willing to cover it.

Mr. Woods spoke out first on a radio talk show and it was picked up by Fox after. With the MSM finding Sandra Fluke and Cindy Sheehan news worthy where were they for Mr. Woods? No need to answer. The answer it obvious.

My only point being it IS news worthy as much as any of the above and many more if individuals want to know about it, and the selective coverage for political agendas should not be condoned. News is news, report it and let us decided what we want to hear.

Repeat, a lie by omission is still a lie.

  23. Peggy says:

Another example of censorship and an attack of our First Amendement to protect the BO.
