Good news! President Barack Hussein Obama and Vice President Joe F. Biden along with other key democrats have been diligently working on the problem of mass murders in defenseless schools. The great news is, they’re actually closing in on a multi-faceted solution! Yes they are! And some of those wonderful ideas are being run up the flag pole here, today, on Post Scripts! Let’s take a look at their research and see how things are shaping up, shall we?
The intense study begins with the first known school shooting right up to 2012. The first shooting was July 14, 1764 when 10 students were shot dead by four Lenape American Indians in Greencastle, Pennsylvania. The study moved forward, scanning the decades and they finally concluded with the shootings at the Sandy Hook elementary school in 2012. This was a global study too!
First knee jerk conclusions based on the available data were: The sales of black powder rifles to the current 3.81 million Indians living in America could be a problem. Consideration is being given to banning either Indians or black powder rifles.
Moving right along…in 1893 killing with guns and swords took the lives of 11 people, including an infant in Osaka, Japan.
Conclusion: Swords can kill people! Therefore some form of legislation is needed to prevent swords from falling into the hands of persons who might misuse them for something other than their original intended purpose, which was believed to be, hedge trimming?
MORE VIOLENT HISTORY TO BE CONSIDERED…..
In 1913, German Ernst Wagoner stabbed to death his wife and four children in Degerloch, near Stuttgart, then drove to Mühlhausen an der Enz where he opened fire on 20 people, killing at least nine, leaving two animals dead and several buildings burned to the ground.
In 1914 in the Italian village of Camerata Cornello, a man with a shotgun killed 7 persons.
In 1927, South African farmer Stephanus Swart shot dead at least 8 people and injured 3 others in Charlestown, South Africa, before committing suicide.
In 1938 almost half of the population of the rural village of Kaio, near Tsuyama city in Japan, was murdered as 21-year-old Mutsuo Toi killed 30 people with a shotgun, sword and axe, injured three others and then shot himself to death.
Between 1954 and 1957, William Unek murdered a total of 57 people in two separate spree killings in the Belgian Congo. He first killed 21 people with an axe, then shot dead ten men, eight women and eight children, slaughtered six more men with the axe, burned two women and a child, and strangled a 15-year-old girl.
More recently in the bloody timeline of shooting sprees, some of the most dramatic incidents include the 1987 Hungerford massacre in England, where Michael Ryan shot 16 people dead and wounded another 15 before committing suicide, the 1996 Port Arthur massacre in Australia, where 28 year old Martin Bryant killed 35 people and wounded 21 before being caught by police, and the 1996 school shooting in the Scottish town of Dunblane. The commission duly noted that had gun bans not in been place in England and Australia, it likely could have been much worse!
Conclusion: Something is amiss with people. The commission is not exactly sure what it is, however the banning of deadly things has not been ruled out. They suspicion that most of these tragic events could have been prevented had deadly things not been so readily available. “Perhaps a waiting period before purchase is in order”, suggested Nancy Pelosi, noted gun expert and kung fu master.
BACK TO MASS MURDER IN THE USA….
In the United States, two mass murder waves characterized the 20th century. One appeared in the 1920s and 30s and another in the mid-1960s, following a tranquil period in the 1940s and 50s.
The two waves, however, were qualitatively different, according to Duwe.
The author of “Mass Murder in the United States: A History,” Duwe researched 909 cases of mass killing that occurred in the United States between 1900 and 1999.
“The first mass murder wave in the 1920s and 30s was comprised mainly of familicides and felony-related massacres, which, then as now, are less likely to garner extensive media coverage,” Duwe said.
On the contrary, the second mass murder wave from the mid-1960s through the mid-1990s consisted of a greater number of mass public shootings, similar to the recent Aurora movie theater shooting and Newtown school shooting.
These incidents “have always captured a great deal of interest and concern,” Duwe said.
Conclusion: The media is not to blame and absolutely not complicit in any way.
However what should be noted is since well over 2% of these mass killings were committed using a black colored weapon that generally fits the description of an [assault rifle], an assault weapons ban is warranted! President Obama is now pressuring Congress to come up with an assault weapons ban. (It’s okay to render applause among yourselves) This critically important ban appears to be imminent, given the heavy pressure from democrats and low information voters, but then I repeat myself.
A few questions remain, such as, should this blue ribbon commission of experts investigate ways of confining mentally ill persons more easily or prohibiting them from owning swords, knives, axes or firearms, including the deadly tomahawks and black powder rifles, that have been so popular among American Indians to commit mass murder?
The commission’s initial response was banning bad things is always a good idea, but confining the dangerously mentally ill against their will is a huge step that they’re not quite prepared to take. Much more data needs to be reviewed and considered if this sort of thing would even work. “I’m not sure this is where we should be looking while deadly assault weapons are running around loose.” VP Joe F Biden pointed out.
The question of arming defenseless schools, as suggested by the NRA, was posed to the commission and it was rejected immediately as completely preposterous! The Vice President was quick to note, “You can’t pass a one size fits all kind of legislation and expect good results. This is why we are focusing on banning assault rifles for everyone.” A polling of low information voters says he’s right too!
Some of the legislation the Vice President said he would like to see in addition to an obvious need for the assault weapons ban would be, make it illegal for insane people to (1) be insane and (2) use deadly weapons to kill people.
“There’s no reason why we can’t legislate against this sort of thing, it’s long overdue. People have to know that going insane is wrong.” Said Biden.
There you have it, your government at work solving the problems you can’t because you’re just too stupid.
I just received this true account from another country.
Just a Shotgun!
You’re sound asleep when you hear a thump outside your bedroom door. Half-awake, and nearly paralyzed with fear, you hear muffled whispers.
At least two people have broken into your house and are moving your way.
With your heart pumping, you reach down beside your bed and pick up your shotgun. You rack a shell into the chamber, then inch toward the door and open it.
In the darkness, you make out two shadows..
One holds something that looks like a crowbar..
When the intruder brandishes it as if to strike, you raise the shotgun and fire.
The blast knocks both thugs to the floor.
One writhes and screams while the second man crawls to the front door and lurches outside.
As you pick up the telephone to call police, you know you’re in trouble.
In your country, most guns were outlawed years before, and the few that are privately owned are so stringently regulated as to make them useless..
Yours was never registered.
Police arrive and inform you that the second burglar has died.
They arrest you for First Degree Murder and Illegal Possession of a Firearm.
When you talk to your attorney, he tells you not to worry: authorities will probably plea the case down to
manslaughter.
“What kind of sentence will I get?” you ask.
“Only ten-to-twelve years,” he replies, as if that’s nothing.
“Behave yourself, and you’ll be out in seven.”
The next day, the shooting is the lead story in the local newspaper. Somehow, you’re portrayed as an eccentric vigilante while the two men you shot are represented as choirboys.
Their friends and relatives can’t find an unkind word to say about them..
Buried deep down in the article, authorities acknowledge that both “victims” have been arrested numerous times.
But the next day’s headline says it all: “Lovable Rogue Son Didn’t Deserve to Die.”
The thieves have been transformed from career criminals into Robin Hood-type pranksters..
As the days wear on, the story takes wings.
The national media picks it up, then the international media.
The surviving burglar has become a folk hero.
Your attorney says the thief is preparing to sue you, and he’ll probably win.
The media publishes reports that your home has been burglarized several times in the past and that you’ve been critical of local police for their lack of effort in apprehending the
suspects.
After the last break-in, you told your neighbor that you would be prepared next time.
The District Attorney uses this to allege that you were lying in wait for the burglars.
A few months later, you go to trial..
The charges haven’t been reduced, as your lawyer had so confidently predicted.
When you take the stand, your anger at the injustice of it all works against you..
Prosecutors paint a picture of you as a mean, vengeful man.
It doesn’t take long for the jury to convict you of all charges.
The judge sentences you to life in prison.
This case really happened.
On August 22, 1999, Tony Martin of Emneth, Norfolk , England , killed one burglar and wounded a second.
In April, 2000, he was convicted and is now serving a life term…
How did it become a crime to defend one’s own life in the once great British Empire ?
It started with the Pistols Act of 1903.
This seemingly reasonable law forbade selling pistols to minors or felons and established that handgun sales were to be made only to those who had a license.
The Firearms Act of 1920 expanded licensing to include not only handguns but all firearms except shotguns..
Later laws passed in 1953 and 1967 outlawed the carrying of any weapon by private citizens and mandated the registration of all shotguns.
Momentum for total handgun confiscation began in earnest after the Hungerfordmass shooting in 1987.
Michael Ryan, a mentally disturbed man with a Kalashnikov rifle, walked down the streets shooting everyone he saw.
When the smoke cleared, 17 people were dead.
The British public, already de-sensitized by eighty years of “gun control”, demanded even tougher restrictions. (The seizure of all privately owned handguns was the objective even though Ryan used a rifle.)
Nine years later, at Dunblane , Scotland, Thomas Hamilton used a semi-automatic weapon to murder 16 children and a teacher at a public school.
For many years, the media had portrayed all gun owners as mentally unstable, or worse, criminals.
Now the press had a real kook with which to beat up law-abiding gun owners. Day after day, week after week, the media gave up all pretense of objectivity and demanded a total ban on all handguns. The Dunblane Inquiry, a few months later, sealed the fate of the few sidearms still owned by private citizens.
During the years in which the British government incrementally took away most gun rights, the notion that a citizen had the right to armed self-defense came to be seen as vigilantism. Authorities refused to grant gun licenses to people who were threatened, claiming that self-defense was no longer
considered a reason to own a gun. Citizens who shot burglars or robbers or rapists were charged while the real criminals were released.
Indeed, after the Martin shooting, a police spokesman was quoted as saying, “We cannot have people take the law into their own hands.”
All of Martin’s neighbors had been robbed numerous times, and several elderly people were severely
injured in beatings by young thugs who had no fear of the consequences. Martin himself, a collector of antiques, had seen most of his collection trashed or stolen by burglars.
When the Dunblane Inquiry ended, citizens who owned handguns were given three months to turn them over to local authorities.
Being good British subjects, most people obeyed the law. The few who didn’t were visited by police and
threatened with ten-year prison sentences if they didn’t comply.
Police later bragged that they’d taken nearly 200,000 handguns from private citizens.
How did the authorities know who had handguns? The guns had been registered and licensed. Kind of like cars. Sound familiar?

WAKE UP AMERICA ; THIS IS WHY OUR FOUNDING
FATHERS PUT THE SECOND AMENDMENT IN OUR CONSTITUTION.
“…It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds..”
–Samuel Adams
You had better wake up, because Obama is doing this very same thing, over here, if he can get it done. The UN Small Arms Treaty that Hilary is negotiating would take away our 2nd Amendment rights. And there are stupid people in congress and on the street that will go right along with him.
Just remember – the reason the Japanese didn’t invade the USA is because they knew that most of the citizens were armed.
Hey, Chicago! How are those strict gun control laws you have working out in the Murder Capital of the World?
Excellent investigative reporting. Wow interesting, that black colored weapon used is Just 2% of all that was researched huh! what color did did the rest of the weapons used consist of? or is that some Government protected hue? Wait no, how can that be! Our government is too forthcoming to secretively withhold information(unless by Executive order, because we are not as stupid as they perceive us to be) So anyway Jack, have you have been approached for employment by any the famous alphabet news media agendas, you know the ones, they put forth erroneous and/or fact-less dribble that promotes their self revering opinions that are hastily spewed prior to any reality being presented as or incorporated otherwise into an artistic work commonly referred to as ‘journalized crappola’. Inquiring minds want to know! Really only 2%
I remember when society thought breaking into someone’s home was considered a serious crime. Amazingly we never talked about the need for “gun control” laws then either…I guess that’s because parents better controlled the narrative with their kids regarding criminal activity…and it didn’t matter what class, race, or neighborhood.
What we have here is a failure to communicate. Too many of us lack boundaries; there are no rules.
Progressives seem to think this anything goes behavior comes out of nowhere.
British citizen and CNN host Piers Morgan has launched a vicious, brow beating, and insulting anti-second amendment rights campaign packed with ad-hominem, misinformation, and bogus claims. Last Friday someone had the brilliant notion to stage a symbolic protest in a White House petition to have Piers Morgan deported.
Of course, no one (in their right mind) actually believes that Piers Morgan would be deported over this issue. Least of all by the White House. (There are also plenty of other reasons to deport Piers Morgan, but I digress.)
Now in the UK a petition to their government has popped up to prevent Piers Morgan from being deported to the UK. Evidently they don’t want him back.
The White House petition is a symbolic protest by average citizens who do not enjoy the media power that Piers Morgan enjoys. The petition is a vehicle by which to express displeasure at his extremist, nonfactual, ignorant, and bigoted campaign to attack our 2nd amendment rights.
Please join the fun, express your displeasure with Piers Morgan, and sign the White House petition. The number of signers is now pushing a whopping 80,000. I believe this is the largest ever number to support a petition in the White House run petition program. Send Piers Morgan a message. Tell your friends to send him a message. Join us and sign the petition!

“What we have here is a failure to communicate!” The liberals hear one thing and one thing only, ban assault weapons!!!! And then there are those of us who are not what you might term, low information voters. We actually analyze things and use some good judgement to reach a logical conclusion.
We also didn’t have teens and pre-teens doing Flash Mobs going into a Mom and Pop store and taking everyhting they wanted without any thought to the fact they were stealing or regard to the profit they took from the owner/s.
If kids are not taught, “Thou shall not steal, thou shall not kill, thou shall not commit false witness against they neighbor and the Golden Rule they grow up to be adults who do even worse things without thought for who they hurt.
Without being taught the difference between right and wrong, good and evil they won’t understand the consequences of their actions.
Parents need to wake up, teach it at home, demand it at their schools and sit with their kids in church on Sunday.
Public Puts Mental Health, More Police above Gun Control :
“Despite what amounts to an all-out propaganda campaign in the mainstream media calling for more gun control, the American people remain unconvinced and think there are better ways to avoid massacres like the one that happened in Newtown.
A CBS News poll taken after the shootings found just 26 percent of Americans believe stricter gun laws would have done a lot to prevent the carnage. A Rasmussen poll found only 27 percent think stricter gun control would be the most effective preventive measure. Almost half (48 percent) of those surveyed told Rasmussen that taking better action to treat the mentally ill would be most effective. Another 15 percent think focusing on violent movies and video games is best. An astonishing 86 percent told Rasmussen that they want the United States to take more action to identify and treat those with mental illness.
A recent Gallup poll has the most interesting findings. It surveyed 1,009 adults on Monday night and found that after four full days of media coverage focused on gun control, people felt that increasing police presence at schools (viewed as “very effective” by 53 percent), improving mental-health screening and treatment (50 percent), and decreasing the amount of violence in TV, movies, and video games (47 percent) were the preferred courses of action. Restricting the sale of assault and semiautomatic guns was viewed as a “very effective” strategy by 42 percent of respondents — 61 percent of Democrats, but only 26 percent of Republicans and only 36 percent of independents. Having at least one school official carry a gun was backed by half of Republicans but only a third of independents and a quarter of Democrats.
Those who call for a ban on “assault weapons” or “semiautomatic” weapons are fooling themselves. A semiautomatic weapon is one that ejects an empty shell case and loads the next round into position for firing. And an “assault weapon” is simply a semiautomatic weapon with military-inspired features. CNN’s Piers Morgan claims that they act “like machine guns,” but that is preposterous. Most handguns held today by both criminals and the law-abiding are semiautomatics. A federal ban on some 19 models of “assault weapons” was in effect from 1994 to 2004 and did not measurably decrease the incidence of mass shootings. Overall, the total U.S. homicide rate has fallen by over half since 1980 — which means that, despite the media focus on mass shootings, we are safer as a country than we have been in decades.”

Apparently no so well, Chicago just hit a 2012 milestone of their 500Th homicide. And they accomplished this with one of the highest percentage of firearms murders (Illinois 2011) as a percent of all murders, a staggering 80 to 95%. It would seem the armed criminals in Gun banned Chicago do better and feel safer than the unarmed law abiding citizenry
Ah, and to think this wonderful milestone was achieved with the help of one community organizer and his pals. Sure glad we got him as president.
