In what can only be described as a “WTF is going on here” sort of story, we’re just learning by foreign news agencies (not controlled by the Obama Administration like they are in the USA), that our Marines are deploying along the Syrian border inside Jordan.
A small contingent of about 1000 Marines in full combat gear is setting up on the border. Why? That’s hardly enough for an invasion, it’s not nearly enough for even a good defense, should Syrian forces come at them. But a 1000 Marines, isolated in the desert, in a country where radicalized Muslims would like to see them dead, is enough to get themselves into a real bind!

“Over 1,000 US troops, who had arrived in the Jordanian port of Aqaba via Israel earlier in the week, have headed toward the kingdom’s border area with Syria under heavy Jordanian military escort, Israeli sources reported on Friday.
The troops are reported to be members of the 26th Marine Expeditionary Force.
Washington and Amman have imposed a news blackout on the deployment of US troops on Jordanian soil.
US sources have confirmed that the presence of the Marines in Jordan has nothing to do with military drills set to be held between American and Jordanian troops later this month.
In April, US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said Washington is sending 200 troops to Jordan to help contain the violence in Syria, increasing speculation that US is setting the stage for intervention in the Arab country.
At the time, Russia criticized the deployment of US troops to Jordan over the Syrian crisis, describing the move as an unconstructive step that threatens to expand the conflict.

What kind of irresponsible, unsanctioned battle plan is General Obama doing here? And what’s up with the media blackout and where’s our Congress on this? Are we being run by a dictatorship now or what?

Kerry Quietly Skirts Law Put in Place by Congress, Sends Muslim Brotherhood-Controlled Egypt $1.3 Billion Gift:
Secretary of State John Kerry last month secretly sent $1.3 billion in U.S. military aid to Muslim Brotherhood-controlled Egypt, waiving the restrictions put in place by Congress to withhold such aid unless the country could meet certain democracy standards.
“Under U.S. law, for the $1.3 billion to flow the secretary of state must certify that the Egyptian government ‘is supporting the transition to civilian government, including holding free and fair elections, implementing policies to protect freedom of expression, association and religion, and due process of law’,” Reuters reports.
Kerry’s quiet decision came before an Egyptian court this week sentenced 43 democracy workers, including 16 Americans, to up to five years in jail for working in NGOs not registered with the government. Critics of the restrictive government see the action as a crackdown on pro-democracy, non-governmental organizations.
In a May 9 memo, Kerry said that “we are not satisfied with the extent of Egypt’s progress and are pressing for a more inclusive democratic process and strengthening of key democratic institutions.” Yet the new secretary of state still decided to push the aid through.

Commenting on Peggy’s post. When debt is in the trillions who’s going to miss a lousy billion or two?. Combine that with there is nothing that holds you accountable and your able to spend it AS YOU FEEL THE NEED, as with current established patterns, you’ll never stop this administration from overspending, or in this case overreaching its limits. The mer fact that Egypt is a friend of the US (in the same vein as Afghanistan) NOT! should not be considered a limiting factor either. After all, Obama never really said that his idea of socialism should be limited to the USA. The only limit he needs to concern himself with is when America will run out of CREDIT money.
I guess the guys who give away the “peace prize” have their own definition of peace. Are we not talking about the NSA story? I would think it would be front and center at PS, odd.
