Isn’t This Odd?

The Criminals must have misunderstood the responsibly they had in preventing crime. Possibly just a glitch by WELL intentioned big Government in getting their message across, a glitch that someone else pays the ultimate price for.
Liberalism is full of what I call “one dimensional thinking”. They seem to think that everything is just simple “cause and effect”. Simple thinking like getting rid of guns will cause crime to go down. Unfortunately common sense tells us it isn’t that simple. It is cause and effect, and the effect is the cause of another effect, and that effect is the cause of another effect, and so on. There are examples of this short-sighted thinking all through the liberal agenda.
It isn’t.

I used to think that it was odd for people to use faulty data to draw a conclusion that doesn’t even logically follow from its own false premises, without doing any fact-checking for their claims at all, simply because a claim validates their preconceived beliefs. But after reading this site for the past five years, I’ve learned that it is all too common.
Harold,Tom, spot on!
Police officers can not get to every scene where they are urgently needed. That is a fact that can not be challenged, unless your in complete denial and lack common sense.
relatively few people have the information that can reasonably estimate how often people use guns to fend off criminal attacks. A fact that is often missing from all Anti gun people positions
If policymakers are truly interested in harm reduction, they should pause to consider how many crimes — murders, rapes, assaults, robberies — are thwarted each year by ordinary persons with guns.
The estimates of defensive gun use range between the tens of thousands to as high as two million each year.
Even when you adjust figures for violent crimes in the USA verse Britain It seem the gun rights in the USA do have a effect of reducing violent crimes in America verse anti gun Britain, and that is more of the point, than how to report unrelated numbers correctly.
As a side bar, if people really took the time to study the actual related points, verse the consequence of his generous vote gathering welfare handouts Obama would not have been re elected!
As Harold says, police are mostly reaction oriented and like the old joke when seconds count the cops are just minutes away. In a small town it takes at least 3-4 minutes for an emergency responder to reach you. In a large city it could 10 minutes or more.
