Twelve Years Ago Today

George W. Bush Sept 11, 2001 11:14 PM EST

Good evening.

Today, our fellow citizens, our way of life, our very freedom came under attack in a series of deliberate and deadly terrorist acts.

The victims were in airplanes or in their offices — secretaries, businessmen and women, military and federal workers. Moms and dads. Friends and neighbors.

Thousands of lives were suddenly ended by evil, despicable acts of terror.

The pictures of airplanes flying into buildings, fires burning, huge structures collapsing, have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness and a quiet, unyielding anger.

These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat. But they have failed. Our country is strong. A great people has been moved to defend a great nation.

Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.

America was targeted for attack because we’re the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining.

Today, our nation saw evil, the very worst of human nature, and we responded with the best of America, with the daring of our rescue workers, with the caring for strangers and neighbors who came to give blood and help in any way they could.

Immediately following the first attack, I implemented our government’s emergency response plans. Our military is powerful, and it’s prepared. Our emergency teams are working in New York City and Washington, D.C., to help with local rescue efforts.

Our first priority is to get help to those who have been injured and to take every precaution to protect our citizens at home and around the world from further attacks.

The functions of our government continue without interruption. Federal agencies in Washington which had to be evacuated today are reopening for essential personnel tonight and will be open for business tomorrow.

Our financial institutions remain strong, and the American economy will be open for business as well.

The search is underway for those who are behind these evil acts. I’ve directed the full resources for our intelligence and law enforcement communities to find those responsible and bring them to justice. We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them.

I appreciate so very much the members of Congress who have joined me in strongly condemning these attacks. And on behalf of the American people, I thank the many world leaders who have called to offer their condolences and assistance.

America and our friends and allies join with all those who want peace and security in the world and we stand together to win the war against terrorism.

Tonight I ask for your prayers for all those who grieve, for the children whose worlds have been shattered, for all whose sense of safety and security has been threatened. And I pray they will be comforted by a power greater than any of us spoken through the ages in Psalm 23: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me.”

This is a day when all Americans from every walk of life unite in our resolve for justice and peace. America has stood down enemies before, and we will do so this time.

None of us will ever forget this day, yet we go forward to defend freedom and all that is good and just in our world.

Thank you. Good night and God bless America.

Given all that is going on in the world I thought we needed a reminder.

According to a Rasmussen Survey only 31% of Americans believe al Qaeda is weaker:

While the debate continues over the presence of al Qaeda fighters among the Syrian rebels, Americans’ confidence in the weakening of that terrorist organization has fallen to levels not seen since before the killing of Osama bin Laden. Most Americans also continue to worry more about a domestic terror attack than one from outside our borders.

It’s difficult to think about how much the influence of America, the values we hold and the principles we stand for, have been diminished at the hands of the current administration. It pains me to think that we must endure this administration for another three plus years. This period represents one of the lowest points in our country’s short but brilliant history.

But I have faith that The United States of America will not only endure but will rise again through the enduring faith, love, and commitment of her people.

Please remember it is WE THE PEOPLE who are the true representatives of the United States of America. It is we who stand for freedom and the rule of law. It is we who believe in the principles outlined in our founding documents. It is we the people who make America strong and will see to it that America once again shines as a beacon of freedom and justice to the world.

I hope American’s are satisfied knowing Obama, Kerry and Biden are prepared to meet this nation’s enemies head on with an appeal to Vladimir Putin to help us.

Two Million Bikers will roar through Washington DC today in remembrance of the attack that occurred twelve years ago today:

Thousands of bikers with the group “Two Million Bikers to D.C.” are snarling traffic on the Beltway with a ride honoring the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, and the members of the military called to serve after the attacks.
On their Facebook page, in all caps, the group said they will stand by the Constitution and Bill of Rights, adding that they’re “against any fundamental transformation of America.”

  3. Tina says:

It isn’t often that a world leader abrogates responsibility, undermines his position and steps aside to let another take his place. Could be another first for this administration and America.

  4. George T Miller says:

Today is a day to be an American, deal with the ugly facts. We were not attacked by a country, but a group of terrorists of only a couple hundred.

While the USA is looked down on by the world for our crime of the Iraqi war, we now have a chance to show we will not stand down, we are not interested in the civil war among a people who are ALL committing war crimes, and we can correct the wrongs of our past.

Our military Industrial Complex needs to take a break from their tax payer paid contracts and reflect on the results of the last 30 plus years.

I know Americans will reflect today, look at the facts and make a move towards taking our country back.

No there will not be a world bank and court that disassembles our sovereignty by overriding our decisions as states and a federal gov for the purposes of a world corporate rule as suggested in the TTP trade agreements in discussion.

There is not an Admin from the right nor the left that has not surcomed to the pressures of our military Industrial complex.

A moment of silence for those who have fallen and a day free propaganda.

A true patriot does not play the party game but cares about the truth, and Humans the real people.

To blame the current president for the failures of a time before his administration is in my mind disrespect to those who have fallen.

Today’s problems are a result of hate. Let there be peace and respect for one day to remember those who have fallen.

George with all due respect, I don’t think Obama is getting any flak that he doesn’t richly deserve. And there can be no peace, not even for one day, as long as Al Qaeda exists and there are radical Muslims want to kill us. Never forget – Never fogive.

I am confused, so I’m going to ask you experts out there to help me understand what is going on.

Last night before millions Obama talked about attacking a country that has not attacked us. Today I read we are now sending “lethal aid” to the Syrian rebels that are made up of the same terrorist group al-Queda that attacked us on 9/11/01.

I’m thinking something just isn’t right here so I look up treason per our Constitution and I do believe we have, or I should say Obama has a big problem here if I’m understanding what I’m reading.

Am I right or am I wrong? Check out the below.

‘Major Escalation of the U.S. Role in Syria’s Civil War’ as CIA Begins Delivering Weapons to Rebels:

“Rebel forces in Syria are now officially receiving CIA-delivered weapons from the United States government, the Washington Post reports, citing U.S. officials and Syrian figures.

Following months of delay, the lethal aid promised to the Syrian rebels by President Barack Obama began trickling into the war-torn country over the past two weeks. The opposition forces have also reportedly received vehicles and other gear from the State Department, marking a “major escalation of the U.S. role in Syria’s civil war,” the Washington Post observes.”

    From Wikipedia:

“The September 11 attacks (also referred to as September 11, September 11th, or 9/11[nb 1]) were a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks launched by the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda upon the United States in New York City and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area on Tuesday, September 11, 2001.”

Article 3 – The Judicial Branch
    Section 3 – Treason

“Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

The Congress shall have power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.”

  7. Tina says:

George a little information is a dangerous thing.

It is also dangerous to confuse hatred with a sincere desire to restore civility and to end murderous terrorist acts.

The Iraq war was justified; to believe otherwise is to believe that the treaty Saddam signed with the US was meaningless. It is to believe that the countless unresolved UN resolutions regarding WMD, the chemical weapons crimes committed against the Kurds, the brutal and ruthless tyranny against the Iraqi people, and finally Saddam’s support of terrorist leaders and terror organizations did not warrant a swift and decisive intervention following the events in New York, Washington DC, and Pennsylvania on September 11, 2001. These things all came together after words and patience had failed to finally warrant action. To believe otherwise is to believe that there is no such thing as good and evil or the necessity for human beings to adhere to the basic truths thatform the basis for our laws.

Today’s problems are a result of evil thinking and zealotry and a blatant disregard for truth and justice…or peace!

Since human beings are fallen in nature, talking about peace, begging for peace, or pretending it is possible to live in peace with those who say they come in peace but instead demand subjugation on threat of death or who plot to frighten and murder innocent people for an evil cause…sometimes even using women and children as their instruments of murder… for the purpose of personal gratification and the cause of religious world domination is delusional. It is wrong headed.

Terrorist acts makes the religion counterfeit…a shame for those who think it a religion of peace.

The President has been in office for nearly five years. He is responsible for the decisions he has made and what has happened while he has been President. His failures are his own. Right now his policies seem to have created a worse situation for people all across the globe. He has made America weaker and, like it or don’t, the world is not better off when America appears weak.

Sometimes support comes as an uncomfortable message. I only hope President Obama has the humility to learn from his mistakes and seek council that will guide better decisions. He has not goven much indication that this is the case.

  8. Peggy says:

Now this makes sense to me and why Ed Asner has turned against Obama and Hollywood has gone silent.

    =======

The Big Cover Up – Why Obama Really Wants to Go to War in Syria:

“So what does a President, who couldn’t find a job if it hit him in the head, do to keep the masses of his own voters from revolting and rioting in the streets? Go to war.

Create a distraction. Make people look away from the scene of the tragedy. Create a “situation” that induces patriotism. Make the masses rally around the President. And if that “situation” happens to help unemployment by sending unemployed young people and minorities off to war, BINGO- you’ve just hit the lottery!

That is the answer to the questions “Why Syria? Why now? How does this benefit America?” Obama’s war is a desperate attempt to keep his own most loyal supporters from noticing that his policies have ruined their lives and set their economic progress back decades. His policies have sent black Americans in particular hurtling back to the days of poverty and racial inequality.”

Ed Asner Tells O’Reilly Hollywood Doesn’t Want to ‘Damage’ Obama by Speaking Out on Syria:

“Asner noted how the majority of the public is against Syrian intervention, suggesting Hollywood doesn’t feel they need to add their voice to the debate. On the “anti-black” comment, he said, “It does appear in many liberals’ minds about how far to condemn a particular action by this president.”

  9. Peggy says:

It’s stunts like this that are waking people up to take our country back from a lying media, our elected representatives and this administration.

Check out the pictures from the traffic cams. Did you know there was snow in DC last Wed. during the 9/11 Two Million Biker Rally?

“Others watching the traffic cams were shocked by the lack of bikes and the presence of snow.”

A Real Sleeping Giant is Awake:

“On September 11, 2013 a group of bikers dared to show the government, Washington, and America that the American Patriot is still alive, well, and now wide awake.

The group 2 Million Bikers to DC managed in less than a month, with little to no press coverage, or interest from the mainstream media to converge an Iron horse mounted Army of American Patriots on Washington’s doorstep.

    The Big Picture
In the past few days I have heard a number of people say “it could not have been much of a rally, it did not even make headlines”. At that point I just want to bitch-slap the person for not realizing the magnitude and the corruption that exists in the American propaganda machine (mainstream media). So, for all of you that do not quite understand the magnitude of this monumental event, I will be glad to lay it out for you.

In January 2013 the number of active duty US Armed forces in the US and abroad was estimated at 1.4 million. September 11, 2013 1.2 million bikers stormed DC.

    The Illusion
Now if the powers that be do not understand the magnitude of this event, then they are even more daft than I even imagined. And if they did not understand it, then why blank out most of the DC traffic cameras during the ride?

I personally went to the traffic cams and was completely confused when I did not see anything but loops and camera down screens. There is no way the DC traffic cams are that bad. By the way I have checked daily since and they are all up and operational. Any conspiracy theorists out there that want to hop on this band wagon are more than welcome to leave comments and discussions.

Others watching the traffic cams were shocked by the lack of bikes and the presence of snow. Now if that is not one hell of a slap in the face to the intelligence of the average American, I do not know what is.”
