Both President Obama and Nancy Pelosi promised the American people that the plan they were going to give us would not take insurance from people who liked their plan and that they would be able to keep their doctors!
“If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your health-care plan, you will be able to keep your health-care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what.” – President Obama
“Keep your doctor, and your current plan, if you like them.” – Nancy Pelosi
That lie is no secret now! People are losing the healthcare plan they like and want to keep. The letters have gone out!
Jonathon Strong at The Corner, National Review, reports that a top Democrat lawmaker admitted today that they knew people would lose their health insurance:
House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer conceded to reporters today that Democrats knew people would not be able to keep their current health care plans under Obamacare and expressed qualified contrition for President Obama’s repeated vows to the contrary.
“We knew that there would be some policies that would not qualify and therefore people would be required to get more extensive coverage,” Hoyer said in response to a question from National Review.
Asked by another reporter how repeated statements by Obama to the contrary weren’t “misleading,” Hoyer said “I don’t think the message was wrong. I think the message was accurate. It was not precise enough…[it] should have been caveated with – ‘assuming you have a policy that in fact does do what the bill is designed to do.'”
Do you see how they massage the lie to make it seem plausable? the President said we could keep our plan…period! He said it over and over again. The Democrats continued to spin this morning in hearings by saying it’s the insurance companies fault! Isn’t that what Democrats always say? Somebody else did that thing that makes you so angry…we just want to help you?
Insurance companies are being forced to drop those plans because they do not comply with what MUST be covered under the new law.
The administration is also attempting to shift blame as this Valerie Jarret Tweet suggests:
FACT: Nothing in #Obamacare forces people out of their health plans. No change is required unless insurance companies change existing plans.
Sorry Ms. Jarret, the reason people are losing their plans is because the Obama/Pelosi plans dictates that they change. The excuse that insurance companies often change their plans anyway is no excuse. The law now imposes rules that can only be changed by government.
The Democrats keep insisting that the new law gives people choices and that people didn’t have choices before. That isn’t true either. The lies just pile up one on top of another!
CBS reports that more than 2 million people are “getting booted from the existing health insurance plans.”
PBS reported that some plans for people with pre-existing conditions are being cancelled:
The main reason insurers offer is that the policies fall short of what the Affordable Care Act requires starting Jan. 1. Most are ending policies sold after the law passed in March 2010. At least a few are cancelling plans sold to people with pre-existing medical conditions.
The President of the United States stood before the people and lied to them. He told this gigantic lie in order to get the will of the people behind his plan to “fundamentally transform” the American healthcare industry. He lied, Nancy Pelosi lied, and every Democrat who repeated the promise that we could keep our insurance if we liked it also lied.
Will you hold Democrats responsible for this lie? Will you hold the administration accountable for the tyranny of this law? Will the media do its job and hold this administration accountable throughout the next year as we approach election day?
We’ve been scammed…do we care?
We know that socialist radicals in the Democrat Party don’t mind a bit! They believe in power being vested in government. They believe in the power of government over the power of individuals. They believe in government power to control decisions and to redistribute our wealth. They do not believe in freedom, in freedom of choice, of conscience, or of personal consideration. Your individual needs and choice do not matter.
And further more…
Obamacare is not health care. It is health INSURANCE. It provides you with a piece of paper. Health CARE you get from a doctor. Given the number of doctors now bailing out of medicine, good luck with that.
Now for the really scary part. This thing is every computer hacker’s dream.

This bears repeating — Ever notice how the progressives who like to toss “liar” at the conservatives who run this forum shut their big fat yaps when confronted with lies from the Liar-In-Chief, his mouthpiece stooges, and Democrat allies?
Beware of those who say, “Were from the government and we are here to help you.” You are about to volunteer your personal and private information and then be hacked.
ObamaCare site crashed and down during Sebelius’ testimony. This would be funny if it weren’t so sad —

Well, as long as the site is down and offline it can’t be hacked.
Funny Covered California is running just fine. The states that did not rely on the feds to run their exchange are doing good!
So exactly what is the problem?
Further proof that you can always tell when a Taxocrat is lying: When they’re making a speech. ANY speech!
The ACA is a Trojan Horse with voter registration for low income individuals ONLY hidden inside.
——
Election Integrity Activists: Obamacare ‘Biggest Voter Registration Fraud Scheme in History’:
“Several election integrity activists have alleged that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), or Obamacare, does not appear to have been an effort to conduct healthcare reform to fix what was described in 2009 and 2010 as a broken healthcare system.
The law passed Congress with just Democratic Party support. Instead of being an honest attempt to fix America’s healthcare woes, “I think [it] is the biggest voter registration fraud scheme in the history of the world,” said Gregg Phillips, the founder of the election integrity group Voters Trust,..
Engelbrecht and Phillips believe that all of those promises about healthcare were never meant to be true. They believe one of the underlying intents is to collect personal data and voter registration information and share it with the federal government, which would in turn share it with left-wing groups—in Obamacare they are called “Navigators”—to conduct what is essentially a taxpayer-funded Get-Out-The-Vote operation for the Democratic Party.
“Approximately 68 million individuals, most of them low-income, will eventually enroll in subsidized health care under the law,” Demos’ Danetz writes in the report.
‘The Congressional Budget Office estimates that approximately 16 million people will apply for health insurance through various subsidized programs in 2014, an additional seven million will apply in 2015 and an additional ten million will apply in 2016. By 2022, Medicaid and CHIP enrollment is expected to reach 43 million individuals, a number that includes those enrolled before the ACA plus those that become eligible as a result of the ACA. Affordable Insurance Exchanges will are expected to enroll an additional 25 million individuals.’
On page seven of the Demos report, Danetz ties Obamacare back to the 1993 passage of the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), colloquially known as “Motor Voter” because it is the law that allowed voter registration at places like the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). “In each state, a Health Benefit Exchange will handle the majority of Covered Transactions for Insurance Affordability Programs,” she writes. “The ACA requires a single streamlined application process for all programs, administered in each state by the Health Benefit Exchange. The Health Benefit Exchange will also handle renewals and changes of address for a certain subset of individuals who obtain health insurance through programs under the ACA.”
Danetz lays out how 17 states and Washington, D.C., have elected to run their own exchanges, seven states have opted for so-called “partnership exchanges,” and 26 states have decided to become a part of the federal exchange. “Under the NVRA, Health Benefit Exchanges are entities that administer public assistance, and, as such, are required to incorporate voter registration services into operation of Insurance Affordability Programs,” she writes. Throughout the rest of the report, Danetz lays out the nuts and bolts of how the left plans to use Obamacare as a voter registration tool.”

Also, hearing Sebelius demonstrate her lack of knowledge about her ability to personally sign up for ACA along with other questions she said she didn’t know or refused to answer was shocking. She’s in charge and she doesn’t know what the law’s requirements are!! She and other Obama administrators are treating the congressional hearings as if they are being called to answer to the hired help instead of our elected representatives.
This administration has to go down in our history books as the most incompetent, lying, and destructive to our country. There’s James Clapper lying about our security and what NSA does, Lois Lerner’s IRS lies and refusal to answer for her actions, and now we have the president acting as a carny barker for his political party’s voter registration scam.
Dewey, there is actually good reasons for the fed to be having more trouble. An individual state system only has to coordinate data between itself and the fed. The fed has to coordinate date between itself and twenty-some states.
I’ve worked through two “systems start-ups” and neither of them went well. One, where this huge law firm decided it was going to conduct business “in the cloud” … over a period of about six months, we were repeatedly down for days, even weeks, at a time.
I think that if people, at desks, were processing these applications, we wouldn’t have nine percent unemployment. I really can’t see why this shouldn’t have been an option. Sigh.
Correct.
My point was the GOP Gov’s that opted out did so to overload the system at the expense of their own people.
I have allot of problems with the fact we have privatized Gov and outsourced this cause we have no talent in our Gov ranks.
Just tired of the untrue Propaganda spread around by those who hate.
Re #4 dewey :
“Funny Covered California is running just fine. The states that did not rely on the feds to run their exchange are doing good!”
Dewey wishes it to be true so it is true. So typical of the left. As usual, the cold, hard reality completely escapes the left.
Here in DemocRat run LaLa Land people are experiencing the same sticker shock and insurance cancellations they are across the country. (Thank you so much Liar-In-Chief and the Rat party.) People accessing the Covered California website have also experienced the same glitches, delays, dropped connection, etc. as the ObamaCare sites, just to a lesser degree. It is not “running just fine.”
At a price tag of SIX HUNDRED AND THIRTY FOUR BILLION DOLLARS the fed could have simply created a national medical savings account for the uninsured.
You don’t have to use the website. You can use the part that is functioning to compare plans and then call the phone number and enroll in the plan you have chosen over the phone. This is all irrelevant for us anyway because the California website is working fine. I wish there would be more focus on this because the state exchanges are working great and it isn’t like millions of people are flocking to them. They are a better indicator of how people see Obamacare and you might notice California has been pretty quiet aboutit.
Charles Krauthammer said the lies told in the ACA will only become more apparent and the deficiencies in the ACA that are being forced on some of Obama’s biggest supporters will take a toll on the democrats for many years to come. He says lets make our case, but we don’t need to get radical to be noticed. The ACA will do that for us, just let the damage spread among the democrats and then we’ll be in a much better position to step in when the time is right and fix it and regain credibility while the democrats lose theirs. These were my words, but that is what I took from what he said this morning.
Jack this reminds me of children who see the pretty colored candy in the candy store window. it looks great but a forced diet of it would be ruinous.
Re #10 Princess : “This is all irrelevant for us anyway because the California website is working fine.”
LIAR! (Sorry I just had a Chris/Libby moment.)
In addition to problems with shut downs, dropped forms, delays, misinformation and other glitches the Covered California website still doesn’t offer a way to find out which doctors and hospitals are included in each health plan.
Small matter. Sign up for a plan and later find out no one locally will accept it. Yeah, right, running just fine!
Sheesh, what is with these stooges carrying water for Covered California?
RE #11 Post Scripts : “Charles Krauthammer said the lies told in the ACA will only become more apparent and the deficiencies in the ACA that are being forced on some of Obama’s biggest supporters will take a toll on the democrats for many years to come.”
Krauthammer is one of my heroes. PBS show “Inside Washington” is unwatchable without his presence. I hope he is back soon from his book tour.
I hope Charles has this one right and the brand damage from Ted Cruz evaporates in the light of ACA failures to come.
Half of New York doctors have bailed on ObamaCare. I wonder what the percentage in California is.
“[Krauthammer] … says lets make our case, but we don’t need to get radical to be noticed.”
Noticed for what, exactly? You got a plan for universal coverage?
I thought not.
Libby if your office is on fire do you go to work anyway? No, you wait until it’s safe to enter, least I hope you would. That’s all the Republican’s were asking when they said delay the implementation for a year, work the bugs out and don’t fine people who can’t access the website to get coverage.
I won’t defend the republicans for their failure to address glaring defects in our healthcare system, but you shouldn’t defend Obama for forcing a bad plan on us. There were ways the holes in healthcare could have been fixed. We didn’t have to scrap the whole system in favor of ObamaCare, but Obama is swinging for the history books and he’s not particularly concerned about the here and now part. He just wants his legacy assured and he thinks ObamaCare is the ticket. So come Hell or high water we’re going to get it no matter what it costs or who it hurts. I would have thought that a caring person like yourself would be at least mildly upset at all the people that are now becoming uninsured because their former policies were dropped and they can’t afford the new ObamaCare policies that include things they don’t need, but must pay for anyway. That doesn’t conern you? Is this all about partisan politics for you Libby or what? Because you sure have your blinders on.
