Tens of thousands of Sikhs came from near and far to gathered today near the Sikh Temple in Tierra Buena in preparation for a miles long parade that will mark the 34th year of this extravagant event.
There was an abundance of free meals and free beverages during the entire 3 days celebration. The estimated servings easily exceeded several hundred thousand.
The sights, sounds and aromatic smells from the cooking tents made this unlike any festival I’ve ever been too, that’s for sure.
The people I encountered were extremely friendly and could not have been more generous or hospitable. Click on the thumbnail to see the larger picture.
