By Wayne A Root
There are 2 major political parties in America. I’m a member of the naïve, stupid, and cowardly one. I’m a Republican. How stupid is the GOP? They still don’t get it. I told them 5 years ago, 2 books ago, a national bestseller ago (“The Ultimate Obama Survival Guide”), and in hundreds of articles and commentaries, that Obamacare was never meant to help America, or heal the sick, or lower healthcare costs, or lower the debt, or expand the economy.
The GOP needs to stop calling Obamacare a “trainwreck.” That means it’s a mistake, or accident. That means it’s a gigantic flop, or failure. It’s NOT. This is a brilliant, cynical, and purposeful attempt to damage the U.S. economy, kill jobs, and bring down capitalism. It’s not a failure, it’s Obama’s grand success. It’s not a “trainwreck,” Obamacare is a suicide attack. He wants to hurt us, to bring us to our knees, to capitulate- so we agree under duress to accept big government.
Obama’s hero and mentor was Saul Alinsky- a radical Marxist intent on destroying capitalism. Alinksky’s stated advice was to call the other guy “a terrorist” to hide your own intensions. To scream that the other guy is “ruining America,” while you are the one actually plotting the destruction of America. To claim again and again…in every sentence of every speech…that you are “saving the middle class,” while you are busy wiping out the middle class.
The GOP is so stupid they can’t see it. There are no mistakes here. This is a planned purposeful attack. The tell-tale sign isn’t the disastrous start to Obamacare. Or the devastating effect the new taxes are having on the economy. Or the death of full-time jobs. Or the overwhelming debt. Or the dramatic increases in health insurance rates. Or the 70% of doctors now thinking of retiring- bringing on a healthcare crisis of unimaginable proportions. Forget all that.
The real sign that this is a purposeful attack upon capitalism is how many Obama administration members and Democratic Congressmen are openly calling Tea Party Republicans and anyone who wants to stop Obamacare “terrorists.” There’s the clue. Even the clueless GOP should be able to see that. They are calling the reasonable people…the patriots…the people who believe in the Constitution…the people who believe exactly what the Founding Fathers believed…the people who want to take power away from corrupt politicians who have put America $17 trillion in debt…terrorists?
That’s because they are Saul Alinsky-ing the GOP. The people trying to purposely hurt America, capitalism and the middle class…are calling the patriots by a terrible name to fool, confuse and distract the public.
Obamacare is a raving, rollicking, fantastic success. Stop calling it a failure. Here is what it was created to do. It is succeeding on all counts.
#1) Obamacare was intended to bring about the Marxist dream- redistribution of wealth. Rich people, small business owners, and the middle class are being robbed, so that the money can be redistributed to poor people (who vote Democrat). Think about it. If you’re rich or middle class, you now have to pay for your own healthcare costs (at much higher rates) AND 40 million other people’s costs too (through massive tax increases). So you’re stuck paying for both bills. You are left broke. Brilliant.
#2) Obamacare was intended to wipe out the middle class and make them dependent on government. Think about it. Even Obama’s IRS predicts that health insurance for a typical American family by 2016 will be $20,000 per year. But how would middle class Americans pay that bill and have anything left for food or housing or living? People that make $40K, or $50K, or $60K can’t possibly hope to spend $20K on health insurance without becoming homeless. Bingo. That’s how you make middle class people dependent on government. That’s how you make everyone addicted to government checks. Brilliant.
#3) As a bonus, Obamacare is intended to kill every decent paying job in the economy, creating only crummy, crappy part-time jobs. Why? Just to make sure the middle class is trapped, with no way out. Just to make sure no one has the $20,000 per year to pay for health insurance, thereby guaranteeing they become wards of the state. Brilliant.
#4) Obamacare is intended to bankrupt small business, and therefore starve donations to the GOP. Think about it. Do you know a small business owner? I know hundreds of them. Their rates are being doubled, tripled and quadrupled by Obamacare. Guess who writes 75% of the checks to Republican candidates and conservative causes? Small business. Even if a small business owner manages to survive, he or she certainly can’t write a big check to the GOP anymore. Money is the “mother’s milk” of politics. Without donations, a political party ceases to exist. Bingo. That’s the point of Obamacare. Obama is bankrupting his political opposition and drying up donations to the GOP. Brilliant.
#5) Obamacare is intended to make the IRS all-powerful. It adds thousands of new IRS agents. It puts the IRS in charge of overseeing 15% of the U.S. economy. The IRS has the right because of Obamacare to snoop into every aspect of your life, to go into your bank accounts, to fine you, to frighten you, to intimidate you. And Obama and his socialist cabal have access to your deepest medical secrets. By law your doctor has to ask your sexual history. That information is now in the hands of Obama and the IRS to blackmail GOP candidates into either not running, or supporting bigger government, or leaking the info and ruining your campaign. Or have you forgotten the IRS harassed, intimidated and persecuted critics of Obama and conservative groups? Now Obama hands the IRS even more power. Big Brother rules our lives. Brilliant.
#6) Obamacare is intended to unionize 15 million healthcare workers. That produces $15 billion in new union dues. That money goes to fund Democratic candidates and socialist causes- thereby guaranteeing Obama’s friends never lose another election, and Obama’s policies keep ruining capitalism and bankrupting business owners long after he’s out of office.
Message to the GOP: This isn’t a game. This isn’t tiddly-winks. This is a serious, purposeful attempt to highjack America and destroy capitalism. This isn’t a trainwreck. It’s purposeful suicide. It’s not failing, it’s working exactly according to plan. Obama knows what he’s doing. Stop apologizing and start fighting.
Oh and one more thing…Conservatives aren’t “terrorists.” We are patriots and saviors. We represent the Constitution and the Founding Fathers. We are the heroes and good guys. Unless you get all this through your thick skulls, America is lost…forever.
I’ve told you … as soon as I hit “Saul Alinsky”, I go … “pleeease” … and quit reading.
Then you missed some good points.
Mr. Root is in agreement with Charles Krauthammer who has also been pointing out ObamaCare is set up to bailout the insurance companies too leaving the taxpayers to pick up that tab along with the subsidies.
There is no way a middle-class person/s can pay $15-20k a year for their own health care plus the new higher taxes to pay for the bailouts and subsidies.
Oh, all right …
1) Medicare may be “marxist”, but all those seniors seem very happy with it. It will be expanded.
2) We already know that the ACA is nothing like “affordable.” It’s a half-way point. Single payer, aka expanded Medicare, it where we are heading, and we’ll get there … someday.
3) We can’t do anything about stingy employers who’d rather screw their staff than pay healthcare premiums … except expand Medicare to cover everybody, including part-time workers.
4) I refuse to consider, let alone debate, such partisan, paranoid speculation. (And if he really thinks that a political campaign is of higher priority than his employees’ health … well, he betrays the real problem … doesn’t he? This is why we have to make laws to FORCE employers to do the decent thing.)
5) I hate to tell you this … it will come as a blow … but the IRS is already all-powerful.
6) Again, I don’t know where this guy’s been the last 30 years, but the megolythic, ever-expanding SEIU is already crammed full of clinic assistants. He might have ideas about reversing this (and other things), but it’s not happening.
Forward! … to Single Payer!
Libby you are a despicable person if you can be gleeful about what it will cost all of us just so you can get single payer. What’s your big plan for paying for that healthcare?
I’ve asked you to explain this time and again and all I get is crickets.
Peggy its much worse than that…read the article again!
The left thinks its so brilliant going along with this criminal act to bring America to her knees…and with gleeful idiots (see above) applauding all the way! It doesn’t occur to them that they will end up as bag ladies (and gentlemen), scrapping their dinner off the pavement and peeing behind the bushes in their retirement.
Tina: “Libby you are a despicable person if you can be gleeful about what it will cost all of us just so you can get single payer. What’s your big plan for paying for that healthcare?”
England has managed to pay for its single payer system for over 70 years. Why do you believe America is less capable than England?
Chris… Actually we are working on it, I heard America is no longer even in the top 10 most business free countries of the worlds top 130 economies. That sucks!
Chris: “Why do you believe America is less capable than England?”
Stupid question.
I’ll respond by first asking you, a few questions:
1. Do you thinks it’s acceptable that this law was passed without bipartisan support and with bribery, deception, and lies?
2. Are you comfortable with this method especially since the result has been chaos?
3. Are you proud that large numbers of people still are without insurance and that insurers may need a bailout because it isn’t working the way we were told it would?
4. Is it right that people who had insurance are now ending up on medicaid or paying premiums that are considerably higher with higher deductibles and co-pays?
5. Is it acceptable that people have lost the insurance, doctors and hospitals that they were happy with before this was foisted on them?
6. Does it make you feel good that a large percentage of doctors are considering retirement rather than be subjected to the regulations, extra work, and costs associated with this law?
5. Does it make you proud that the party you support was willing to put America through all this under false pretenses just so they could get to single payer?
Cause that’s why I said Libby is despicable…she doesn’t give a rip about the deception and lies or the harm its caused…the end justifies the means! She’s tickled pink.
Now let’s look at England’s 70 year “success” story.
A. England, like a lot of other nations, has not had to spend much on defense of their nation…that gave them wiggle room for their healthcare program but it will change now that Obama has put this nation on the road to complete ruin.
B. England, like America, is facing enormous, growing-by-leaps-and-bounds debt brought on by too much consumption (healthcare and welfare) spending.
C. Their massive debt and the economic downturn have cause a crisis which has meant big budget cuts and reduced quality of care. See here.
The problems we had in our healthcare system were brought on, in part, by our own government’s intrusion in the form of Medicare and Medicaid.
The other problems could have been addressed with a few simple changes in the law without completely destroying one of the best healthcare systems in the world.
Our goal should be the best possible care at the most reasonable prices. We have moved in the exact opposite direction. America was able to do healthcare better than Eland and a lot of other countries. It’s one reason so many doctors have migrated to America to practice medicine. We are now dumping our system so we can be as inferior as every other socialist nation.
“… going along with this criminal act to bring America to her knees ….”
Do I hear a chirping?
Chris: “Why do you believe America is less capable than England?”
Tina: “Stupid question.”
No, it’s not. Tina, this is how you respond to everything when you have no argument to offer. It’s thoroughly feeble, and you should quit it.
A certain amount of “deal-making” is inherent in law making. Always has been. If you’re asking us to accept the proposition that Repug deal making is somehow more virtuous than the Dem version … we won’t.
And we’re not having chaos, we’re having disruption, which is only to be expected, and we’ll get past it. Can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs, as the ancient wisdom has it.
And I’ve told you a million times: no system operated by human beings is going to run perfectly … or even well. But under single payer, at least everybody is in the game.
And you will answer this point … you will say how a for-profit medical establishment will accomplish this (when it never has in the past) … or you will admit that you are 1) wrong, or 2) do not think everybody should be in the game.
I love it when I go to the MSM, and find my opinions in print! Apropos of deal-making, I would be interested to hear what you all think about this:
http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/politics/2014/01/bridgeghazi_chris_christie_and_corruption_american_politics_should_be_dirtier.html
Libby: “No, it’s not. Tina, this is how you respond to everything when you have no argument to offer…”
?
The response I gave was quite lengthy with evidence that England’s HHS is falling apart and has been creating massive debt. Chris said it has worked for seventy years but it hasn’t worked as well as our system and it has slowly crumbled in terms of care and undermined economic opportunity over those seventy years. this is the model we champion?
What’s even more incredulous is the Chris/Libby notion that a big government controlled monopoly (single payer) will be better and less corrupt, wasteful, or expensive than unencumbered private businesses competing with each other for individual citizens dollars…as if politicians and bureaucrats in DC were more saintly.
We already had government safety net insurance for people who need insurance and can’t afford it. We needed to eliminate denial of insurance based on preconditions…we didn’t need single payer to achieve that. Most of the rest of the people you think should be “in the game” simply choose not to be in the game. Its the same group that isn’t signing up for Obamacare now. They are young healthy people who see no reason to pay for health insurance when they need money for the ridiculously high tuition they are paying because of greedy democrats in academia…and when the possibility of finding work sucks. It’s called manageable risk, its having priorities, it’s called freedom and personal choice.
It’s a lie that there ever was a time when everyone was in the game. There was a time when everyone got treated at much lower prices and the poor were treated anyway because of the goodness and charity of the American people.
If you call waiting two years for a heart bypass operation or being denied cancer drug treatments to save the government money is being “in the game” then you are nuts, lady. Like most progressives you feel superior for championing healthcare for everyone but the best you can do is to offer inferior care for everyone but the likes of Obama, Reid, Pelosi who will still get the very best and a big fat tax bill that never quite pays the tab.
Single payer isn’t a game that serves the people. It is a game that serves greedy Democrat politicians, feeds government coffers and racks up massive government debt. It is a game that damages the economy and helps America on down the road to ruin.
Let’s all jump on the poverty wagon where at least we’ll have free contraception whether we need it or not.
Libby who cares what Slate has to say about Christie when they would never apply the same criticism where it is needed most?
From elsewhere on the web:
What ObamaCare is Really About
I’m a 54 year old consulting engineer and make between $60,000 and $125,000 per year, depending on how hard I work and whether or not there are work projects out there for me.
My girlfriend is 61 and makes about $18,000 per year, working as a part-time mail clerk.
For me, making $60,000 a year, under ObamaCare, the cheapest, lowest grade policy I can buy, which also happens to impose a $5,000 deductible, costs $482 per month.
For my girlfriend, the same exact policy, same deductible, costs $1 per month. That’s right, $1 per month. I’m not making this up.
Don’t believe me? Just go to http://www.coveredca.gov/ , the ObamaCare website for California and enter the parameters I’ve mentioned above and see for yourself. By the way, my zip code is 93940. You’ll need to enter that.
So OK, clearly ObamaCare is a scheme that involves putting the cost burden of healthcare onto the middle and upper-income wage earners. But there’s a lot more to it. Stick with me.
And before I make my next points, I’d like you to think about something:
I live in Monterey County, in Central California. We have a large land mass but just 426,000 residents – about the population of Colorado Springs or the city of Omaha.
But we do have a large Hispanic population, including a large number of illegal aliens, and to serve this group we have Natividad Medical Center, a massive, Federally subsidized county medical complex that takes up an area about one-third the size of the Chrysler Corporation automobile assembly plant in Belvedere, Illinois (see Google Earth View). Natividad has state-of-the-art operating rooms, Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging, fully equipped, 24 hour emergency room, and much more. If you have no insurance, if you’ve been in a drive-by shooting or have overdosed on crack cocaine, this is where you go. And it’s essentially free, because almost everyone who ends up in the ER is uninsured.
Last year, 2,735 babies were born at Natividad. 32% of these were born to out-of-wedlock teenage mothers, 93% of which were Hispanic. Less than 20% could demonstrate proof of citizenship, and 71% listed their native language as Spanish. Of these 876 births, only 40 were covered under [any kind of] private health insurance. The taxpayers paid for the other 836. And in case you were wondering about the entire population – all 2,735 births – less than 24% involved insured coverage or even partial payment on behalf of the patient to the hospital in exchange for services. Keep this in mind as we move forward.
Now consider this:
If I want to upgrade my policy to a low-deductible premium policy, such as what I had with my last employer, my cost is $886 per month. But my girlfriend can upgrade her policy to the very same level, for just $4 per month. That’s right, $4 per month. $48 per year for a zero-deductible, premium healthcare policy – the kind of thing you get when you work at IBM (except of course, IBM employees pay an average of $170 per month out of pocket for their coverage).
I mean, it’s bad enough that I will be forced to subsidize the ObamaCare scheme in the first place. But even if I agreed with the basic scheme, which of course I do not, I would never agree to subsidize premium policies. If I have to pay $482 a month for a budget policy, I sure as hell do not want the guy I’m subsidizing to get a better policy, for less that 1% of what I have to fork out each month for a low-end policy.
Why must I pay $482 per month for something the other guy gets for a dollar? And why should the other guy get to buy an $886 policy for $4 a month? Think about this: I have to pay $10,632 a year for the same thing that the other guy can get for $48. $10,000 of net income is 60 days of full time work as an engineer. $48 is something I could pay for collecting aluminum cans and plastic bottles, one day a month.
Are you with me on this? Are you starting to get an idea what ObamaCare is really about?
ObamaCare is not about dealing with inequities in the healthcare system. That’s just the cover story. The real story is that it is a massive, political power grab. Do you think anyone who can insure himself with a premium policy for $4 a month will vote for anyone but the political party that provides him such a deal? ObamaCare is about enabling, subsidizing, and expanding the Left’s political power base, at taxpayer expense. Why would I vote for anyone but a Democrat if I can have babies for $4 a month? For that matter, why would I go to college or strive for a better job or income if it means I have to pay real money for healthcare coverage? Heck, why study engineering when I can be a schlub for $20K per year and buy a new F-150 with all the money I’m saving?
And think about those $4-a-month babies – think in terms of propagation models. Think of just how many babies will be born to irresponsible, under-educated mothers. Will we get a new crop of brain surgeons and particle physicists from the dollar baby club, or will we need more cops, criminal courts and prisons? One thing you can be certain of: At $4 a month, they’ll multiply, and multiply, and multiply. And not one of them will vote Republican.
ObamaCare: It’s all about political power.
