Another Jefferson Meeting – It Keeps Getting Bigger!

by Jack

Yesterday I was this month’s guest speaker at the Kiwanis Club of Chico and my topic (by request) was the State of Jefferson movement. It was gratifying to see so many interested people, in fact, I’m told they had an usually high turnout.

I’m far from the most knowledgeable person on this subject and certainly nlot the best speaker, but I did what I could. For Statehood to happen it’s going to take a lot of volunteers to inform and answer questions and get the word out. So far, there’s been no shortage of volunteers in Butte County and the two counties that have already approved Statehood.

One of the most asked questions as these events is, “Can the State of Jefferson really assume all the many mandates and costly obligations we have in CA with a greatly restricted tax base?” The short answer was… yes. Most of those costly bureacratic expenses are generated by the Southern half of the state, but then so is the bulk of the tax revenue,so they’ll be fine and so will we. We have less revenue, but we also have far less obligations to meet.

As for the commerce, we have an existing infrastructure, existing businesses and we have a known amount of tax revenue generated. Based on our analysis of the counties that wish to participate, we should have more than enough tax base. And this is without altering the current taxation. However, that is not our intention because we feel we can do much better than the State of California with their hundreds of gov. agencies, committees and commissions. One of the key reasons for a new state is to reduce overhead – so we can reduce taxation!

As businesses return and grow in the North State, so does our commercial tax revenue and this lessens the burden on the individual. We estimate that from it’s inception, people of Jefferson will see about a 10% reduction in overall taxation, however this is just the start.

We have several role model states to base this tax savings on too, so we know it can be done. The bigger question is, not whether we have the money, but do we have the will to become a new state? Have we become so acclimated to paying through the nose to the State of California that we’ve just accepted this is the way it is and nothing we say or do can change it?

Well, the people I’ve met don’t believe this for an instant – they’re ready to push for a new state for however long it takes and whatever it costs, because they are convinced it will be worth. We’ll be setting a new standard of performance for how States should do business and we’ll revive freedom when we do!

Absolutely outstanding address from Senator Ted Cruz on CSpan live today. Will try to find a link to an archive of the segment later. It is a must view.

LOL hey run Ted Cruz! LOL

Dewey I don’t have time to read all of your articles so I picked one from the publication owned and named after Steve Forbes who ran for president as a republican and who champions limited government. I wanted to see for myself that this publication would post an article that was anti Koch as you seem to be. The article includes a quote from Charles:

“Most power is power to coerce somebody,” says Charles, in a voice that sounds like Jimmy Stewart with a Kansas twang. “We don’t have the power to coerce anybody.”

Our government certainly does. The IRS for Example.

The Kochs provide millions of jobs world wide…people actually apply and then accept these jobs without coercion of any kind! They also supply needed products at acceptable prices through these businesses that people actually purchase on their own…nobody makes them…can you imagine the freedom in that?

Conversely…try not paying your taxes and you will soon find out government has the power to coerce payment with interest and penalties added…or throw your butt in jail!

Dewey you think screwy….upside down. Even though I have asked you have yet to explain to our readers what power these fine industrious and charitable men have to harm you. I want specifics. I want to see the bodies.

Oh and what is the Kochs evil plan? Democracy! Freedom for all citizens! from the Forbes article:

The goal has always been, Charles says, “true democracy,” where people “can run their own lives and choose what they want to buy, choose how to spend their money.” (“Now in our democracy you elect somebody every two to four years and they tell you how to run your life,” he says.) Both Kochs innately understand that–unlike the populist appeal of their fellow midwestern billionaire Warren Buffett and his tax-the-rich advocacy–their message of pure, raw capitalism is a much tougher sell, even among capitalists.

So their revolution has been an evolution, with roots going back half a century to Koch’s first contributions to libertarian causes and Republican candidates. In the mid-1970s their business of changing minds got more formal when Charles cofounded what became the Cato Institute, the first major libertarian think tank. Based in Washington, it has 120 employees devoted to promoting property rights, educational choice and economic freedom.

Pretty damning alright. Two American men, acting on their Constitutional right to participate in the elections process, delivering a message of freedom like the founders did, and creating goals they’re willing to talk about.

    oooo…big conspiracy!

    #2 Pie

Ted Cruz just moved up on my president’s wish list. Great video. Sharing it on FB and to every contact in my email. Thanks!!

  5. Peggy says:

Hey Jack, have you and the others involved heard about this guy? He’s proposing to separate Calif. in to six states. What do you think?

Here’s another interesting link from the one above originally posted by Dewey.

  7. Dewey says:

The Koch brothers aim to destroy Democracy, are the countries biggest polluters, and have a written agenda.

The articles are sources. I do not need to read them either, they are only there to prove the facts exist.

Now where is all the noise about Chris Christie the Koch Presidential Candidate?

Where is Issa’s investigation? Oh yea Christie was a Koch boy, Radio Silence.

The last Bush Admin destroyed our economy using the groundwork laid out by all previous presidents.

Ever read the Powell memo in the 70’s? It is all laid out.

The last time we heard any truth was by Eisenhower and Kennedy.

People take jobs to eat. America was crashed by the banks and now about 50% of America works for $11 hr or less.

Americans want our flag and Eagle Back and will take out all corrupt Politicians regardless of party.

Americans also know about the Koch Brothers Agenda. No amount of Pro Koch Propaganda can change the long long history of the Koch’s and the Bush’s, their connections to the John Birch Society, Nazi’s and Communist Russia, nor the harm they have done.

A true American tows no political party line blindly

  8. Peggy says:

Check out how many states have people Googling to “secede, split, join Canada.”

Wonder why and what has so many not wanting to live in America any more. Could it be the policies and failed economy by this administration?
