Republican David Jolly Wins for the GOP in Florida

Posted by Tina

Despite being outspent by Democrats and a third party libertarian challenger David Jolly won his bid for a vacated seat in the House of Representatives in a swing district that voted for Obama in the last two Presidential races. The race was a squeaker with Jolly winning 48.5% of the votes and his Democrat opponent, Alex Sink, winning 47%.

The win leaves Democrats still needing 17 seats to take back the house.

Score one for the GOP.
