Children’s Exodus to USA

by Jack

A reader of PS suggested the best way to handle this sudden influx of illegal alien children coming across our Southern border from Mexico might be best handled by busing them all to Washington DC and let them surround the White House and demand assistance. Let them camp out and demand action from Obama.

  1. Harriet says:

Similiar to a caller to Rush about 15 minutes ago, she said all those who think the influx is just fine should take the kids into their homes and care for them.

  2. Libby says:

Why would anyone want to do that? They don’t want to make trouble. They want to find their parents, aunties, cousins, whomever, and get a job … and then maybe enroll in an English class … and then get an AA in auto technology.

Anybody with the guts to travel from and through a thousand miles of drug fiefdoms to get here, and work, is going to make a splendid citizen.

    What is your problem?

  3. Tina says:

Libby: “Anybody with the guts to travel from and through a thousand miles of drug fiefdoms to get here, and work, is going to make a splendid citizen.”

And anyone who does that and actually wants to be an AMERICAN citizen, rather than a fundamental transformer of America, should have a LEGAL way to get here. They should be encouraged to arrive here LEGALLY!

It is wrong to irresponsibly encourage people to come when we don’t have the ability and aren’t prepared to absorb, employ, and educate the vast numbers.

Obama’s policy is irresponsible and political. He doesn’t give a damn about the people or the result in the states, cities and towns that have to do the actual work or absorb the cost.

    What is YOUR problem?

  4. Chris says:

Tina: “And anyone who does that and actually wants to be an AMERICAN citizen, rather than a fundamental transformer of America, should have a LEGAL way to get here. They should be encouraged to arrive here LEGALLY!”

Yeah, why don’t the starving, poor children crossing the border by themselves just travel with an attorney? I don’t get these people!

  5. Peggy says:

Libby: “and then maybe enroll in an English class … and then get an AA in auto technology.”

Ok Libby, one more time. Do you not understand what it will cost to teach them English to get that AA degree?

It will cost schools and states millions. It will mean that teacher from grade schools to community colleges will be hired and it means classrooms will be reassigned to house them. This means those classrooms, teachers and the funds will not be available for our already failing education system.

This will be a repeat of the Asian refugees that flooded the US after Vietnam fell. The community college I worked at was mandated by Ed. Code to meet the needs of those refugees, but it meant we couldn’t offer the same number of English, history and other degree required courses for students who spoke English as a first language.

Hey, we get to now say, “It’s Obama’s fault,” instead of hearing it’s Bush’s fault.

Officials fault lax Obama immigration policies for ‘calamity’ in border states:

“Some of those warnings are coming from inside the administration.

According to portions of a memo obtained by Fox News, an official with Customs and Border Protection wrote late last month that current policies are serving as an incentive for more to cross.

“If the U.S. government fails to deliver adequate consequences to deter aliens from attempting to illegally enter the U.S., the result will be an even greater increase in the rate of recidivism and first-time illicit entries,” Border Patrol Deputy Chief Ronald D. Vitiello wrote in the May 30 memo.

Among the policies that allegedly are creating a magnet for illegal immigrants is what’s known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. The unilateral policy in 2012 allowed some illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children to defer deportation — among other criteria, they must have come to the U.S. before they were 16 years old, be younger than 31 on June 15, 2012, and have been in the country since at least June 15, 2007, and have no criminal history.

The administration extended that program earlier this month, allowing the immigrants to apply for protection from deportation for another two years.”

  6. Libby says:

“Ok Libby, one more time. Do you not understand what it will cost to teach them English to get that AA degree?”

Of course I do. We’ve got it. We can raise it. If we want to. Do you want to?

  7. Peggy says:

Of course I do, if we could afford it. If we had an unemployment rate like Qatar and the demand for jobs would support those seeking jobs from the south without taking jobs away from US citizens I’d be all for it.

But, we’re $17,000 trillion in debt with a real unemployment in the 10% to 25% depending on ones age and race.

So, at this point I’d love to help pay for everyone of them, but since our nation is broke and so many individuals are broke I don’t see how we can.

People are having a hard time caring for their own families without being taxed to pay for hundreds of thousands who came because someone said they’d have a better life just by showing up.

We are a nation of laws just like Mexico. How about Mexico keep half of those crossing their borders? Why is the US the only country expected to take care of them all?

  8. Tina says:

Chris: “Yeah, why don’t the starving, poor children crossing the border by themselves just travel with an attorney? I don’t get these people!”

    Chris you are truly ignorant.

  9. Tina says:

Libby: “Of course I do. We’ve got it. We can raise it. If we want to”

Libby loves to toss the word “we” about liberally. Of course it isn’t her time, her crowded classroom with kids that don’t speak English, her grandchildren that will be saddled with public debt, her children or grandchildren that won’t find work due to the failing economy…Libby does “we” with other people’s money, time and energy.

What about the word legal escapes?

  10. Tina says:

Peggy: “How about Mexico keep half of those crossing their borders?”

Because Mexico hasn’t promised them the moon when it can’t really deliver.

Because Mexico isn’t led by a narcissistic opportunist bent on the fundamental transformation of our free nation to a communal nightmare with a single ruling party!

Because instead of supporting leaders that would run the Central American countries in a manner that creates a thriving economy he supports the dictators!

Because citizens like Libby empower him to ruin our nation and our economy…gleefully, you will notice.

  11. Libby says:

“Of course I do, if we could afford it.”

But we can afford it. So I’ll take that as a yes, and we’ll be getting on with it. We get Gitmo shut down, and we can set up the first 15,000 young refugees.

There is now no reason for you to do any more of that resentful moaning about it.

  12. Peggy says:

Libby you’re wrong, we can’t afford it and Tina you’re right the only reasons they’re all coming here is because Obama put out the invitation to come live in the land of milk and honey.

I’m taking back my above recommendation to have Mexico keep half of those coming north and instead say their country of origin should be the ones to provide for them. No excuse of, “yeah, but they won’t.”

The question is why not them instead of us? You may not feel $17 trillion is any big deal, but it is a huge burden on those who will be paying for it.

The stock market is going to hit 17,000 soon if it didn’t today. Projections say it will have anywhere from a major correction to dropping down to the 10,000 range. If it’s the worst case we’ll be in a major depression with people jumping out of windows again.

How will people who can’t take care of themselves care for hundreds of thousands of additional needy?

Think Libby, if you can’t afford to pay for your own food, clothes and shelter how are you going to pay for others?

You say we can afford it, explain how and where the money is going to come.

  13. Tina says:

Libby: “we can set up the first 15,000 young refugees.”

Boy are you behind the curve. they’ve been coming for some time now…officials expect up to 90 thousand this year…we’ve already absorbed 60 thousand:

The latest government estimates anticipate 60,000 unaccompanied minors will arrive in the country this year, up from 6,560 in fiscal year 2011. Among the latest influx are growing numbers of girls and children under 12.

More than 90 percent of those sheltered by the government are from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador, many driven north by pervasive violence and poverty in their home countries, the Associated Press reported. Many are escaping abuse or persecution, others are fleeing criminal gangs and violence, some are victims of trafficking or abandonment, and others seek to reunite with their families in the United States, AP reported.

And you thought we were talking about a few kids here and there?

  14. Pie Guevara says:

I made note of this before, but I’ll try again …

Can you imagine a government that so hates its own citizens that parents would abandon their children, the promise of their own nation, and dump them unaccompanied in the United States?

Can you imagine a government so wrong headed as to encourage it?

    No imagination necessary.

Notice how Mexico does not have this problem. They are a willing conduit.

  15. Pie Guevara says:

    Interesting …

Libby thinks that the release of Islamic terrorists will provide the funds to pay for the care of children being dumped by central and south American countries in the US by the tens of thousands, and which is being encouraged by the president and the Democratic party.

  16. Pie Guevara says:

“There’s nothing complicated about what is happening here. Barack Obama invited these people to send their children to the United States as refugees. He’s already made illegal use of executive orders to gut the immigration system; he’s talking about doing it again, and the people of South and Central America can hear him just fine.”

  17. Libby says:

“Boy are you behind the curve ….”

Don’t be dense. I said the “first 15,000”. This ain’t gonna be cheap, but we’re going to do it anyway … because we are not savages.

What is it about the conservative that cannot extrapolate … cannot use it’s imagination?

Sweetie … our border authorities knew they were up Shit Creek when the first 10,000 showed. They’ve been keeping secrets … trying to figure out how to stop the onslaught … but they couldn’t (I can’t, can you?). We’re up to 100,000 and there will be more.

This will probably be THE GREAT UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCE of the the O-Man’s administration … and a great test of this nation’s human decency.

You … are not giving the rest of us hope for a decent outcome.
