The crisis phone at the White House has been ringing off the hook, but the president is either off fundraising or he simply doesn’t want to pick up. Ignoring a crisis has never been an effective U.S. policy, however given the long list of Obama blunders we might be inclined to make an exception in his case.
Obama has semi-retired from his official duties, knowing that he’s a lame duck and he really doesn’t care what the people think – polls be damned. He’s going to do whatever he wants until his term runs out. The fundraising trail he’s been on lately is mostly self-serving in the sense this money will help insure the continuation of his policies. He initiated them to “fundamentally transform America.” This is one promise he made good on, but we didn’t know at the time exactly what this meant. Now we know it meant undermining and obstructing of the free enterprise system and destructive wealth shifting.
Obama’s transformation has created more welfare, more frustration, more anger and more people going nowhere and if that was his objective then mission accomplished. We have fewer good paying jobs and less opportunity than ever. Overall, the last 6 years under Obama has been a disaster for America – some legacy.
Obama’s poll numbers are sinking faster than the Lusitania and he could care less. He’s on his way out and Obama never did like pressing the flesh and holding himself out before the public. He did it because it was necessary to win, but beyond that false front he’s really an introvert. Come to think of it, he shares a lot of Nixon’s personal warmth, albeit absent Nixon’s accomplishments. Nixon opened up a good relationship with China, helped craft the best arms treaty in history and ended the Vietnam war – what’s Obama done? Name a foreign policy victory or domestic win – you can’t, there are none. Heck, he’s never even submitted a budget to Congress in 6 years! Some leadership.
In less than two years Obama’s ride is finally over – so this is his “me time” to do what he wants and to disengage himself from the annoyances of his office. Lucky us.
PS In this leadership vacuum, why isn’t the GOP making an effort to take up the slack? Seems like this would be a perfect opportunity for the House to step up and introduce some life saving polices of their own, forget partisanship, just do it for the country.
Rumor has it he’s buying a posh property in California. Oh goody!
Another reason to create the new state of Jefferson and leave the commies of Hollywood, Silicon Valley, and Sacto to play golf with the ex-president.
If they do move to Calif. it will put them closer to all of the liberal friends in Hollywood. Check out the little cabin they’re rumored to have in escrow.

I disagree with the “lame duck” bit. This duck is not lame and is going down in flames by his own political calculations. (Which happen to be lame, but I am splitting hairs.) Hard work even for a golf bum.
