The Washington Examiner takes the lead in exposing another corruption charge:
A comprehensive new report released Wednesday by the Republican staff of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee makes clear that the answer to that question is yes. The report is entitled “The chain of environmental command.”
Major mainstream media which generally parrot the perspectives and analyses of the environmental movement have utterly ignored the report.
The article lists four of the charges:
• Former far-left environmentalists working at EPA funnel government money through grants to their former employers and colleagues, often contributing to the bottom line of environmental activist groups.
• Under President Obama, EPA has given more than $27 million in taxpayer-funded grants to major environmental groups. Notably, the Natural Resources Defense Council and Environmental Defense Fund – two key activists groups with significant ties to senior EPA officials – have collected more than $1 million in funding each.
• EPA Region 2 Administrator Judith Enck appears to be inappropriately and personally involved in the allocation of EPA grants to favored groups. Enck is also the subject of an inquiry led by the EPA Office of Inspector General.
• EPA also gives grants to lesser-known extreme groups. For example, the Louisiana Bucket Brigade received hundreds of thousands of grants under former Administrator Lisa Jackson despite challenges by state regulators over the use of such grants.
Crony activism is just as bad as crony capitalism…big government gives our leaders too much power to pick winners and losers. Votes for smaller government guys is our only hope, even then it’s not guaranteed. But turn this big government trend we must or drown in the loss of freedom and economic opportunity.
This is what happens when character doesn’t count.
You also are going to have to hold your nose over what it is going to cost Tax payers to solve the resent “illegal migration” using children as well.
Those dollars are needed by legal Americans, be they homeless, or what ever needs they may have, those funds should be used to solve problems of Americans first, period!.
Just another epic fail of a WH Administration governing solely by dividing this country populous against one another, and wasting todays limited resources on problems they artificially created, and for what, to further try and populate a mindless and sound bite voter to preserve their political power base.
About the only thing positive to come from this administration, is the hopeful awaking of the undeclared voter to the corrupt and obvious mismanagement of political power and waste coming from the left.
A closer to home “micro” in play is the situation of the problems caused by several back to back inept liberal city councils that during the time of their majority control and wasteful mindless spending has driven Chico into a financial hole!
Coal Miners Union In Full Revolt After Supporting Obama In 2008:
“It’s unlikely that United Mine Workers of America president Cecil Roberts thought he would be arrested protesting the energy policies of the very politician his union supported in 2008. But things have come full circle for coal miners, who now see President Obama’s climate agenda threatening their livelihoods.
Roberts and other UMWA members were arrested Thursday marching through Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, towards the federal building where the Environmental Protection Agency was holding field hearings for a new rule that could very well force more coal mines and plants to shut down.
Roberts was leading about 5,000 coal miners, their families and supporters to show the EPA that coal miners, boilermakers, electric workers and other unions did not support the Obama administration’s new regulations limiting carbon dioxide emissions from coal-fired power plants.
“This was an expression by the leadership of the union and the solidarity for our members when our jobs are on the line … it’s what it’s all about,” Roberts said while being arrested.
UMWA District 31 vice president Mike Caputo said the Pittsburgh rally was only “the first shot of the battle” against the Obama’s administration’s regulatory agenda.”
