Just saw the first performance of the movie Fury about a WWII tank crew in 1945 Germany just before the end of the war. They used real Sharman tanks and a real German Tiger tank. This is the only time a real Tiger was used in the filming of a war movie.
The critics gave it 69 out of a 100, but I think the movie deserved better. The directors made a real effort to have authentic details and as a WWII buff I appreciated that. I hate it when I’m watching a WWII movie and the German tanks are really Italian Army M48 Bulldogs with swastikas painting on them.
The acting in Fury was good, the scenes were very realistic, the plot believable and fairly historically accurate, especially about the brutality of the SS. The movie won’t disappoint. I gave it an 78, and just so you know how I grade, Saving Private Ryan was a 90.
