    Must’ve been overdosed with Obumble/Oblameo photo-ops . . .

    You been hoaxed again?

  3. Chris says:

I can’t find info on this anywhere. Can I ask where you heard this information?

Source of story: AT&T Internet Service Representative, 12/07/2014, told directly to Jack Lee who reported it directly to you.

The above graph displays service status activity for Att.com over the last 10 automatic checks. The blue bar displays the response time, which is better when smaller. If no bar is displayed for a specific time it means that the service was down and the site was offline.

We have tried pinging AT&T website using our server and the website returned the above results. If att.com is down for us too there is nothing you can do except waiting. Probably the server is overloaded, down or unreachable because of a network problem, outage or a website maintenance is in progress…

I had to give up ATT internet about a month ago because of the constant dropping of service, slow or impossible connection and constantly having to reboot my modem.

My constant calls of complaints led no where and inquiry to upgrades not available. I was forced to switch to Comcast, which I didn’t want, but now have
a modem that is 10 times more powerful, new lines in my home and from my home to the street line.

Two friends who have ATT have or had the same problems.

I’m not an expert on the internet, but it would seem to me today’s computers can’t operate efficiently on equipment and line dating back to the 1980s.

You never know what will pop up when you do a search. This probably has nothing to do with our att troubles but it is interesting. The headline: “Shock! $307 Billion paid to Africa while America goes over cliff”

The “Alliance For An Affordable Internet” is a public-private partnership which intends to build a huge, expensive African Internet. Its headquarters are in Nairobi, Kenya, now dubbed “Africa’s Silicon Valley”.

Hillary Clinton alluded to this monstrous State Department project when she stepped down from her Secretary job on February 1, 2013. She said, “One billion more persons will have access to the Internet”. She did not expand her sentence to include… “and Americans will pay for most of it”.

Here is the scheme: Bloomberg News reported on Feb 14, 2011 that President Obama’s budget for FYE2012 will include $307 billion in grants to Silicon Valley. Specifically, the individual grant amounts in Obama’s budget are: $148 billion for research and development, $80 billion for federal information systems and $77.4 billion for computer education. Much (most?) of the grant money will be spent for Africa’s Internet.

The partners of “Alliance For An Affordable Internet” include the U.S Department of State, the World Wide Web Foundation and five Silicon Valley computer giants (Google, Microsoft, Yahoo!, Intel and Cisco Systems). (continues)

$307 Billion. Chicken feed to high rolling democrats and their business buds; a slap in the face to middle class Americans.

Tina: “You never know what will pop up when you do a search.”

Heh, you got that right. You’ve once again stumbled upon a goldmine of insanity, bigotry, and conspiracy theorist, and cited it as if it were a reliable source.

The blogger you cite goes on to elaborate in the comments:

“Yes, the African Internet is an indirect military expenditure. Look at the YouTube pictures about the Internet and you’ll notice that the rats of Silicon Valley are connecting the Nairobi Internet to India on the east side of Africa and London with Nairobi on the west side of Africa. The Internet is an Inter”NET” that will eventually enable the antichrists to catch every one of us “fish” and try to compel us to do its bidding every step of our existence. Jesus Christ said such a thing is coming in Revelations and other places in the Scriptures as well as in the other faiths that were in touch with God.”

    And:

“Pessimist: Your name is Realist in my book., Thanks for your right-on comment. If someone asked me to name my enemy I would quickly respond, “The criminal government of the United States of America”.
Second would be the criminal government of the Ultraconservative Rothschild Zionist Jews of not only Tel Aviv, Israel, but also the three city states in London’s “City”, Washington DC and Vatican City.
I believe Israel is more equal than the others and they now call the shots in Syria, Afghanistan and well, I guess everywhere.
I’m part Jewish, so no anti-Semitism is intended in my comment. However, certain leaders of the Rothschild family seem to have an almost supernatural presence. I often wonder if they have a direct link to the great liar and hater named Satan.”

In conclusion, your sources are terrible and you have way too much ideological overlap with crazy people.

  8. Chris says:

(OK, it’s one thing to skip the comments, but is it really so hard to look slightly to your right while reading the article to notice the “New World Order,” “Illuminati” and “Jews” tags and think to yourself, “Hm, this particular corner of the Internet may not be entirely on the up and up?”

It would be embarrassing, if you were capable of that emotion.)

  9. Libby says:

    Yup … hoaxed again.

    • Post Scripts says:

Okay Libby, so you’re saying the AT&T rep was lying about the outage, that my outage was a figment of my imagination and the internet geeks were lying about the pings and their record of outage b-e-cause…. (? )

  10. Tina says:

Chris: “In conclusion, your sources are terrible and you have way too much ideological overlap with crazy people.”

So if a source has what you consider nutty opinions the hard information from it is also automatically wrong?

Is it so hard to believe that Obama would spend money to help Africans have faster internet service? Forbes reports on the $7 Billion pledged to bring power to the country. That deal included soccer balls kids could kick around all day to bring power home to the family at night.

More to the point, Elizabeth Dwoskin, Businessweek, “Hillary Clinton Helps Silicon Valley on Her Way Out the Door”:

One of those new programs, the Alliance for an Affordable Internet, barely got a mention in Clinton’s speech. But it merits attention. The public-private partnership among the State Department, the World Wide Web Foundation, and tech companies including Google (GOOG), Microsoft (MSFT), Yahoo! (YHOO), Intel (INTC), and Cisco Systems (CSCO), aims to give more people in developing countries access to the Web. It could also open new markets for Silicon Valley. “We’re going to help the next billion people come online,” Clinton said, before moving on to talk about clean cook stoves for women in poor nations.

I actually think its an excellent idea.

What I hate is that the President seems to think he has to bring America down while raising Africa and other emerging nations up. His policies are hurting the middle class while he acts like Santa to the emerging nations. Flawed thinking is the thing that bugs me.

  11. Tina says:

Desperation, Jack. Progressive utopians are looking pretty stupid (And morally bankrupt) about now.

  12. Chris says:

Tina: “So if a source has what you consider nutty opinions the hard information from it is also automatically wrong?”

No, I did not say that.

But I find the phrase “what you consider nutty opinions” interesting. Do you not agree with me that believing that the Internet is a trap set by the literal devil and that Jewish bankers control the world are “nutty opinions?”

“Is it so hard to believe that Obama would spend money to help Africans have faster internet service?”

No, and I never said I didn’t believe that.

“I actually think its an excellent idea.”

But Obama did it, so you are contractually obligated to bitch about it.

“What I hate is that the President seems to think he has to bring America down while raising Africa and other emerging nations up.”

No rational person would believe he thinks that.
