Gasoline and Diesel Prices Going Up in CA

San Jose Mercury News –

After months of seeing gas prices sink ever lower, Californians will ring in 2015 by paying more at the pump as a result of the state’s landmark greenhouse-gas emissions law.

But how much more we’ll pay, and whether it’s worth it, remains bitterly debated among oil companies, some state lawmakers and environmentalists.

Starting Thursday, gasoline and diesel producers will be subject to the state’s cap-and-trade system, forcing them either to supply lower-carbon fuels — which are more expensive to produce — or to buy pollution permits for the greenhouse gases created when the fuel is burned. In the short term, at least, that will mean higher prices at the pump.

Down here in Phoenix, Costco gas is $1.94 and Diesel is $2.74. You folks in Taxifornia are paying through the nose for Moonbeam & the Lunkhead Legislature.
No longer visit Taxifornia unless absolutely necessary (family).

This is just the beginning. The tax will increase every year to 43 cents a gallon in 2030.

“… increase the price at the pump by 15 cents a gallon starting in 2015. That number would increase to 43 cents a gallon in 2030.”

Dag nab it. I was going to fill my tank when the price was low. Now I MISSED IT.

I hope Post Scripts appreciates Peggy. She should be given a status as blog poster.

You can thank Ahnode Schezwhatever and the DemoNcrats for this. By the way, Ahnode drives around in autos that get about 8 miles a gallon and flies the world in private jets and lives in mansions why he lectures us peons on reducing are “carbon footprint.”

You can also thank the idiotic sheeple voters. They had a chance in 2010 to pass Dan Logue’s initiative to postpone AB 32 but they voted it down.

Steinberg proposed that the state increase the price at the pump by 15 cents a gallon starting in 2015. That number would increase to 43 cents a gallon in 2030.

“Higher prices discourage demand. if carbon pricing doesn’t sting, at least a little bit, we won’t change our habits,” Steinberg said.

If that doesn’t prove Stinkbug and the DemoNcrats are the enemy of every working person I don’t know what does.

Well, thanks to Ahnode Schwartenwhatever and the DemoNcrats Colliefornia (as Ahnode calls it) will never see gas under $2 a gallon.

Thanks Pie. Reading current event articles and learning our real US history has become a hobby of which I am now a borderline addict.

I love sharing what I’ve learned with my 10 and 12 year old grandkids to offset the progressive lives they’re learning in public schools. Both of them are in the GATE program, so their minds are eager to learn and are developing the ability to ask questions and challenge information that isn’t based on facts.

Sharing on PS and with my FB friends is fun. And when I see a FB friend share what I posted it’s good to know the info. is reaching even more, many who are low informed voters who lean left/progressive.

Occasionally, someone on FB will comment or challenge my post, which will lead to a discussion. Even if they don’t comment I know they got it and will hopefully cause them to question their left-leaning beliefs.
