Who says private gun ownership shouldn’t have a place in civil society?
Certainly not the women and mothers in two small Nigerian villages last year that were under a threat from Boko Haram:
AFRICA – Several Nigerian media outlets have been reporting on local women in the villages of Attagara and Kawuri in Borno State who recently disarmed nearly a dozen Boko Haram terrorists. The notorious pseudo-Islamic terror groups tried to attack the Attagara and Kawuri communities over the weekend but the insurgents were instantly repelled by a group of armed women.
Who can blame them! In early January of this year an attack by these merciless murderers resulted in death for 2500 people in another area. National and international authorities have not been effective in stopping this menace.
It should come as no surprise that those captured in last years attack were arrested and immediately “executed.”
Does that sound uncivilized or harsh? Not to me! These poor people are plagued by a ruthless enemy that captures and kills their children, terrorizes people in their villages, and mercilessly murders whole swaths of people at a time. They will continue to savage whole villages until it becomes too risky for them to continue, or, until they are all wiped from the face of the earth by armed citizens protecting their liberties and rights.
I ask you, why should they pussy-foot around? The enemy doesn’t. At what point does civil society give way to barbarism, before or after civil authorities fail to take a serious action?
Ultimately, one is responsible for one’s own survival. Can’t depend on goofernment for that.
Way to go,ladies!
These women are indisputably awesome. I absolutely support their right to self defense, as I support the right to self defense of all Americans.
Still doesn’t change my position on universal background checks in America.
No one gives a **** about magnificent one’s position on universal background checks, least of all Nigerian women.
Why was my comment #4 deleted? Because I used the F word in retaliation against Pie, who cusses me out in nearly every comment? I assumed his comments were starred out by the mods–I didn’t know I was expected to do that myself. I don’t see the substantive difference in hitting submit on one comment with one swear word once, and hitting submit on dozens of comments with bleeped out words dozens of times, all targeted at the same poster. The intent and the effect is the same regardless of whether or not the word is starred out instead of spelled out.
Starred out profanity isn’t encouraged, but its better than writing out what we could get in trouble for. The editor does read our comments and if we are going to keep this a free speech area we must practice a certain amount of restraint or self-censorship. We really need to focus on what would be interesting to read by others and not so much personal jabs.
