MLK Birthday Celebrated?

Posted by Tina

Government and school employees and students, banks and possibly a few in business have a day off today in remembrance of Martin Luther King whose birthday was January 15th. This year the nation doesn’t seem to be as enthused about this holiday as it has in the past. The movie, “Selma,” is also apparently opening to near empty theaters. See also here. The number of stories in print media seem to be much fewer than in past years as are leading TV news stories. It may improve as the day unfolds but at this near midday hour I have to ask, “What’s up?”

Could it be that Americans are not enthused or impressed, and might even be put-off, by the “America is racist” portrait being advanced by the radical left? Trumped up accusations brought against police officers, in particular and across the board, is part of it but it really began with specious accusations against the Tea Party a few years back.

I think this could explain what’s happening; what do you think?
