Battle for Tikrit, ISIS, Boko Haram, Iran and the Badr Organization – What a Mess!

by Jack

ISIS fighters number about 2000, yet they still hold Tikrit against 30,000 Iranian lead Iraqi forces.

The heavy fighting is being done by the Iraqi Shia militia, a paramilitary force with links to Iran and some Sunni tribesmen.  The rest appears as just window dressing.  The most powerful military leader to emerge in Iraq doesn’t wear a uniform, he’s a militia commander by the name of Hadi al Ameri, leader of the Badr Organization.  With him are a host of top Iranian military advisors .   Ameri was interviewed by CNN a few days ago and he said the coalition that Obama is forming to oust ISIS from Iraq is an illusion.   Ameri said his forces will put an end to ISIS in Iraq, not the so-called coalition.

The troubling part of the Badr Organization is it was up in Iran in 1982 as the military wing of the Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq.  It was based in Iran for two decades during the rule of Saddam Hussein and led by Iranian officers. It consisted of several thousand Iraqi exiles, refugees, and defectors who fought alongside Iranian troops in the Iran-Iraq War. The group was armed and directed by Iran.al-baghdadi2333

Iran’s growing influence on the battlefield has always been a c0ncern for us and Sunni’s in Saudi Arabia and other Middle East countries because they are forming a corridor of influence all the way to Lebanon and have close ties to the terrorist organization Hezbollah.

Prior to his ousting, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki, was taking his orders from Tehran and that lead to a lot of internal friction, mostly over the mistreatment of Iraq’s Sunnis.

While the US was in Iraq these two foes (Sunni v Shiite) were forced to stand down, but with Iran gaining more control over Iraq’s military and government it’s highly probable it will lead to a full on war between Sunni and Shiites.   If that happens there will only peace when one side or the other wins it all…and it will be a blood bath.

This internal fighting helped create ISIS and it radicalized Muslims on both sides, Sunni and Shia.  Radicalized Muslims operating under the banner of ISIS is a direct threat to our national security.  Look at what just a few radicals have done in the UK and Europe recently.   We are in their crosshairs, make no mistake.

Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi show at right is leading ISIS.  He is believed to have been born near Samarra, Iraq in 1971.   Baghdadi was a shy, unimpressive, religious scholar and man who eschewed violence, to an infamously dangerous extremist on Obama’s watch.   For more than a decade, until 2004, he lived in a room attached to a small local mosque in Tobchi, a poor and ramshackle neighbourhood on the western fringes of Baghdad, inhabited by both Shia and Sunni Muslim residents.   When al Qaeda came along Baghdadi rose through the ranks to be the head of AQ in Iraq and shortly thereafter he was captured by US forces.   3 years ago Obama released him.

Yesterday ISIS acknowledged it’s newest franchise, Jama’atu Ahl as-Sunnah il-Da’awati wal-Jihad more commonly known as Boko Haram.   They operate mainly in north-east Nigeria, but also in Niger, Cameroon and Chad.

shekauBoko Haram is every bit as blood thirsty as ISIS and the face of their terror is the “unkillable” Abubakar Shekau (see picture on left).   Boko Haram operates at will across vast areas, terrorizing, looting and kidnapping, despite the best efforts of the Nigerian government.  US advisors were sent by President Obama to help recover 300 girls kidnapped from a private school 11 months ago.   Shekau gloats in a recent press release, “Forget the girls, they have all converted to Islam and have taken husbands.  Or there’s a good chance many of them have been sold into slavery, not an uncommon practice among Muslims in the region.

Boko Haram is a growing force and they have just signed on with ISIS.   Chaos is spreading from Iraq  to half dozen countries in central Africa.  President Obama’s lack of leadership and bungling has created fertile ground for crackpot radicals to exploit like Shekau and Baghdadi.

This is going to sound very harsh and callous. Even despicable…

I have had it with Islam. Mainstream and extremist. If they wish to slaughter one another, more power to them. While they are focused on killing one another they will be less focused on killing innocent non-Muslims and spreading their disease to the rest of humanity.

Yet it still grieves me to see such hatred, abject brutality and violence. But that is Islam — a culture hate filled, bloody, and brutal. They have brought it upon themselves. Ultimately only they can resolve these issues. Perhaps they may beat it out of themselves yet.

There is an old saying, its not size of the dog in the fight, its the size of the fight in the dog. this is what we got with those terrorists. those people believe in what they are doing what can i say? religious wars are always the worst, you cant reason with them. its all about faith in there cause. that is hard to beat even with big numbers.

when i put something in it alway says duplicate? think you have something broke.

  4. J. Soden says:

The Iraquis have let the fox into the henhouse by allowing Iran to “help.”

  5. Toby says:

Iran has been “helping” in Iraq from the beginning. I have been asking for years why the UN hasn’t stepped up and done anything? Isn’t funneling arms and terrorists into another Country against some kind of international law? These are rhetorical questions.
As usual I am in full agreement with Pie.

    Do tell.

Headline: Bombshell report alleges Argentina, Iran, and Venezuela were once all bound together by sex, drugs, and nuclear secrets

RHT447 is always a valuable resource. What ever happened to the “good ol’ days” of sex, drugs and rock n’ roll?

(Rhetorical question, they were never any good.)

Clapper removes both Iran and Hezbollah from terrorist list on annual report. Question is did he do this under the direction of Obama or Iranian born Valerie Jarrett?

According to John Bolton, the excuse that they were omitted because of a format change is not true since this years format is exactly the same as last year. Bolton also said this looks like a backdoor negotiations give for Iran.

Obama Administration Omits Hezbollah And Iran From Terror List In Further Appeasement Of The Real Islamic State:

“An annual security assessment presented to the U.S. Senate by James Clapper, the director of National Intelligence, has excluded Iran and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah from its list of terror threats to U.S. interests, despite both being consistently included as threats in previous years.

The unclassified report, issued by Clapper on February 26 and entitled the Worldwide Threat Assessment of the U.S. Intelligence Communities, was published by the Times of Israel amid Israeli concerns that Iran was omitted simply because of Tehran’s efforts to combat ISIS.

In a previous report from January 2014, Clapper included Iran and Hezbollah in the ‘Terrorism’ section, writing that both “continue to directly threaten the interests of U.S. allies. Hizballah [sic] has increased its global terrorist activity in recent years to a level that we have not seen since the 1990s”. Iran was also given its own sub-heading in the ‘Terrorism’ section of such assessments in 2011, 2012 and 2013.”
