We’re all about working smarter, not harder, right? So, try these tips to save time and trouble, while impressing your friends and family!
Most of us have cell phones with a camera built in, try this trick next time you need groceries. Open up your fridge, even the freezer side, and take a picture of the whole thing so you’ll remember what you need to buy at the store.
Spreading those key rings can be tough on the fingernails, so save the nails and use a staple puller to spread ring apart.
How do you secure those open rolls of Christmas wrapping paper? If you used tape you will ruin some of it needlessly, so try this: Save a few empty toilet paper centers, then cut them once lengthwise so they will open like a “C” and slip them over the rolls of birthday or Christmas paper. They have just enough tension to hold the roll closed.
How do you keep kids or elderly from falling out of bed? You can’t tie them down, and rails aren’t practical either. Here’s a trick that will help: Go the your pool store and buy a “pool noodle” (kids use them as floaties) place it on the mattress under the fitted sheet and it forms a soft barrier on both sides.
Its tough to open these blister packs! They are hard, clear plastic shrunk around the item. Try this, use a hand held can open to cut around the edge safely.
Use nail polish to color code similar looking keys.
Clean up hard water and calcium from show head: Use a plastic baggie partially filled with vinegar secured around the shower head, secure the baggie with rubber band and let the solution stand overnight…like magic, all the nasty gunk is gone by morning.
Use a muffin tin to serve condiments at a bar-b-que.
Did you know that placing a wooden spoon across a pot can keep it from boiling over?
Many handy ideas! Thanx!
You are welcome…it’s our way of saying thanks for being a PS reader!
Empty TP cardboards are also handy for corralling and labeling that spaghetti heap of spare computer cables.
RHT, and that’s another good idea and to think we’ve been tossing these things away for years.
Speaking of tips …
I have a modest collection of antique straight and safety razors. I have always hated shaving, can no longer tolerate mustaches and beards, and so several years back I decided to make a game of it and began collecting various and sundry razors.
Granted, these antiques and the blades may not give a smooth a shave like a brand spanking new Treat DE in a Gillette adjustable, but they work really quite well if given a proper sharpening.
One of the razors in my collection is a Rhodes (Kriss Kross) single edge

These blades are rare as hen’s teeth. The Kriss Kross stropper itself handles all kinds of blades, but finding the original Rhodes razor blades themselves is a bit problematic.
I have searched and keep on searching eBay and elsewhere, but as yet have not come across the real deal. Some sellers think they have the real thing but so far they have been mistaken.
Any suggestions where to look or will I have to modify or make my own blades for this razor?
Any suggestions on other shaving equipment that might satisfy my hobby?
Re #3: Now there is a dang good idea I’ll be trying out myself.
