Terrorist Threat Level Increased for U.S. Military Bases

by Jack

At this time threat level BRAVO is now in force at all US military bases abroad and with the USA.   This has not been in place since the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

NSA and other intelligence organizations have detected a higher than normal communication level among ISIS terrorists and one of ISIS leaders has openly called upon individual sympathizers and terrorists cells to attack American facilities.   As of late, ISIS has shown a high interest in attacking Americans closer to home.

FPCON BRAVO describes a situation with a somewhat predictable terrorist threat. Security measures taken by agency personnel may affect the activities of local law enforcement and the general public. (Must show two military base IDs at gates.) Force Protection Level I Antiterrorism Training defines FPCON Bravo as: FPCON Bravo applies when an increased and more predictable terrorist threat activity exists. Specific information suggests probable violence, but nothing indicates that this installation is targeted. Extra precaution is appropriate to deter terrorist planning. Additional measures may affect operational capability and relations with local authorities. You can expect stricter inspections of vehicles, deliveries, and ID checks. You will see a greater presence of guards on your installation.

The Ft. Hood debacle brought to light the Army’s politically correct idea for the troops NOT to go armed on the base.
Haven’t heard anything that corrects that misguided policy – even in the face of jihadi threats.
