Below is a partial transcript of a speech given by a hateful Muslim cleric, who is quite popular in Turkey. I wouldn’t bother posting it, except his opinions resonate among Middle East Muslims and reflect what other clerics are saying. Turkey’s President just gave Imam Gormez a new Mercedes and soon he will have new jet to help him spread his hate speech. (It pays to be a radical Imam)
In 2013 this clown ruffled Catholic feathers when he basically called their Pope a liar. Pope Francis noted in a speech that “the first genocide of the 20th century” had struck the Armenians (and the strikers were Turks). This mild and true statement led Turkey to recall its ambassador to the Vatican and also summon Vatican’s envoy in Ankara. The Pope made the remarks during Mass in the Armenian Catholic rite at the St. Peter’s Basilica, which Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan also attended. Imam and college professor, Mehmet Görmez, described the Pope’s words as a, “baseless claims” and worse. At the time the Armenians were preparing to memorialize the 100th anniversary of the 1915 slaughter by Turks. Its estimated that 1.5 million Armenians were murdered by the Turkish government.
Here’s his latest provocation and I repeat, I publish it only for the sake of showing why so many rank and file Muslims hate so many things, including us and its why some are driven to murder in the name of Allah. In a sermon delivered at the Al-Aqsa Mosque on May 15 and posted on the Internet, “Mehmet Gormez, President of the Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs, said: “We should not accept that Jerusalem be the capital of anyone else. It is the capital city of the Muslims. We ask Allah to protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the filth of the aggressors.”
Mehmet Görmez: Preserve in your struggle and your Jihad in defending the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, until Allah grants you victory. […]
There will be no security for those who do not safeguard Jerusalem’s security. One is safe and secure as long as Jerusalem is safe and secure. Those who attack it will not be safe and secure. Only those who attack Jerusalem should be attacked. They should be attacked to the same extent that they themselves attacked.
[…]
The military occupation of Jerusalem will not change its true nature, because Jerusalem will remain part of the creed of the Islamic nation, of its countries, and of its peoples. It will remain in our religious creed. No [Muslim] president or king has the right to relinquish even a single inch of it, just as Sultan Abdulhamid II did not relinquish an inch of it. […]
The Al-Aqsa Mosque has been an Islamic mosque since its establishment, and it will remain so until Judgment Day. We should not accept that Jerusalem be the capital of anyone else. It is the capital city of the Muslims. We ask Allah to protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the filth of the aggressors.”
He’s got to keep those flames of hate alive, otherwise Mehmet might be out of a job!

Jack I have no comment. I have a question. Why is all the focus on Muslims?
There are good and bad Christians. There are are good and bad in every religion. We are not going to join a religious war without a civil war first defending the constitution and separation of church and state.
Sorry but it just seems like you are following the lobby that controls Congress with the Koch;s AIPAC propaganda for war on our dime for Israel once again.
Just asking not accusing.
Dewey, the liberal narrative is that Christians were just as bad as Muslims during the crusades. They (Christians)conquered lands, tortured and chopped off heads too. So to be critical of Muslims now is hypocritical and then the liberal will cite some ancient examples to establish a moral equivalency between violent Christians and violent Muslim fundamentalists. Somewhere in there will be Timothy McVey or the shooting of an abortion doctor.
However, there was a time when the world was barbaric place and the actions of the Christians during the crusades was nothing exceptional. The very few, but more modern examples of Christian violence is so overwhelmed by the superior numbers of Muslim terrorists that it has virtually no relevancy, no moral equivalency…none.
However, I would like to think that human beings have progressed since the year 1100 and our collective sense of morality and understanding has taken us to a better place as more peaceful citizens.
Christians long ago established a moral code centered around love, honesty and compassion. Then the early power brokers abused their congregations and took them somewhere that Jesus would never have tread. The lessons of their violence were learned and the church has continued to reform itself over the next 900 years, growing ever more peaceful and loving. However, such reform came a bit slower for the Muslims, possibly because unlike the books of the New Testament, their religion was founded on waging war, for conquest, slaves, souls as well as property.
Blind obedience, vengeance, retribution, self-sacrifice, including martyrdom, and of course brutal punishment for Kafirs and infidels was part of the early religion and it remains quite visible even today. Death by beheading, dismemberment, stoning, and flogging are still common in Muslim controlled countries and this brutality, this cruel and unusual punishment, is accepted and practiced for relatively trivial breeches of their teachings in far too many places.
This sets the Islamic religion apart by quite a distance from today’s Christian religion. The incidents of genocide, suicide bombing, murderous hate crimes and such, often waged against an innocent, unarmed, citizens for political/religious purposes is almost exclusively the evil domain of modern day fundamentalist Muslims. Their inhumanity to men, women, children, jews and gays has no bounds and for that alone, they are rightly the enemy of civilized people.
Regarding Israel, they are the only true democracy in the Middle East and our only true friends. They have made their share of mistakes, but they do not, as a matter of practice, teach their children in school to hate Arabs/Muslims, they don’t make cartoon shows showing how bad Muslims are, they do not endorse suicide bombings of Muslim buses, they don’t send their children off to kill any Arab they can, and they sure don’t preach that some day they will drive the Arabs into the sea by any means necessary. Can’t say the opposite is true for Middle East Muslims.
Any more questions about this or will this cover it?
““We should not accept that Jerusalem be the capital of anyone else. It is the capital city of the Muslims. We ask Allah to protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the filth of the aggressors.”
The parable of the judgment of King Solomon comes to mind. It’s sad that so much war and bloodshed has come about simply because grown men can’t learn to share their toys. And not to listen to their imaginary friend when it tells them to burn things.
