This morning four Marines were murdered and others injured in an act being called “domestic terrorism.” The shooter, Muhammad Abdulazeez, fired on two separate facilities. He’s now dead.
Abdulazeez was a naturalized citizen from Kuwait. Law enforcement investigating at what was believed to be his home cuffed two women and took them away. According to The Daily Mail, this 24 year old had been living the American dream (see pictures at link). He was arrested on a drunk driving charge in April and wrote in his yearbook, “‘My name causes national security alerts. What does yours do?'”
Steps taken by authorities:
At an afternoon press conference, officials confirmed that there was no longer any risk to the community because the shooter had died.
They refused to reveal whether he committed suicide or was shot dead by law enforcement.
The FBI and ATF dispatched agents to the scene and Homeland Security and the Pentagon said they were aware of the situation.
President Obama was briefed on the incident and opened an investigation to be led by the FBI.
He also urged the Department of Defense officials at bases around the country to remain ‘vigilant’ in the wake of the attack.
In a short statement, he said: ‘It is a heartbreaking circumstance for these individuals that served our country with great valor to be killed in this fashion.’
Why were these Marines not armed so they could defend themselves?
My heart goes out to the families.
Another Muslim immigrant preys on the unarmed. Thank you Obama.
Gun free zones, especially at military facilities, are insane.
“Why were these Marines not armed so they could defend themselves?”
Well, here’s part of the problem—

Morale!
Morale among American Uniformed Services, by any measure, is at its lowest point since records have been kept!
This fact is worrisome!
Troops’ confidence in the BHO Administration, and the gaggle of upper-level boot-lickers he has appointed over them, is currently less than zero! Most BHO-era appointees have long forgotten what it feels like to wear a field uniform, carry a real weapon, and audaciously lead highly-motivated troops. Most are grandiloquent “veterans” only of university faculty lounges!
Genuine, fighting generals and senior NCOs have all retired in disgust, or have been forced out.
Most often cited reasons for low morale:
No leadership that anyone can respect. Star-wearers don’t care about troopers. They care about politics and currying favor with the Administration. BHO has no understanding of our military culture, nor any regard for the people in it who are still trying to make it work. Nothing he says, and no “promise” he makes, can be believed. Troops think they are considered by upper “management” to be little more than cannon-fodder!
Our entire military, under the current Administration, has been cut to the bone, with scant protest from senior officials who should be the ones who care. Equipment is worn-out/obsolete. Staffing is inadequate. Supplies are inadequate. Fewer ships. Fewer planes. Inadequate facilities. Inadequate support structure. Most observers now seriously doubt our current ability to sustain any kind of major conflict.
“Our efforts are in-vain,” is heard over and over. Foolish and naive strategic decisions render irrelevant poignant sacrifices made by our brave troops. We win battles, only to have to fight again, over the exact same real estate. Expensive equipment made for us is now being used by the enemy!
.
“There is no clear goal,” is also heard repeatedly. Confusion is everywhere. Troopers are asked to risk their lives for reasons no one can apparently articulate in any kind of understandable way. Is there a “plan,” or isn’t there?
“We’re not trusted,” is another endemic complaint. Our “armed forces” and perpetually unarmed, even in combat zones, even officers and senior NCOs. Guns are loathed and morbidly feared by paranoid senior commanders. Troopers almost never get to even touch them! Defenseless troopers have thus been massacred, on post, multiple times, and nothing is being done about it. Again, individual troopers have a hard time believing anyone up the food-chain really cares about them!
In good conscience, I can’t recommend to young people that they join-up right now!
Worrisome indeed!
“My fathers were Warriors. Their son is a Warrior. From them, I take my only existence.

While in uniform, in various capacities and starting well before 2001, I have been involved with counter-terrorism training and implementation. So have some others who post here, but I will leave it to them whether or not they wish to relate their own experience.
As for myself, we seem to have come full cycle. At the time I was serving, it seemed that past a certain command/political level, no one wanted to take our warnings seriously. The result was 9/11.
And now it has happened again. Our enemy has changed tactics. Yet despite repeated warnings, uniformed military personnel, on duty, on U.S. soil, have been sacrificed on the alter of P.C. I do not have the words to express my anger, frustration, and sadness.
Thank you RHT447. As you know most who post here are as angry and frustrated as you are. Our military is the finest in the world when we let them do their jobs. They deserve our full support and the best equipment we can give them…they also need and deserve good leaders.
I fear that this is much worse than even the Carter years. At least back then we still had men who were men; men who honored the warrior spirit and willingly chose to defend our country. The narcissists running the country/military now seem to believe they have magical powers to bring peace to the world with their words and winning smiles.
Tank you for your service, it is appreciated greatly.
Re #2 RHT447 : All these problems can be laid squarely at the feet of the idiot-in-chief and his sick and twisted progressive ideology.
Great post, Thank you RHT447
Here is the real legacy of Obama the MSM isn’t reporting. Since 2009 he has failed to keep Americans safe from terrorist attacks because he refuses to take the necessary actions necessary.
The first attack on a military recruiting station occurred in 2009 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He could have then approved the arming of our home based soldiers. And he could have done it after the Naval yard shooting, but he didn’t, which opened the door to the events that led to the shooting yesterday.
His job is to protect us, not terrorist whether they’re domestic or foreign. He’s failed once again.
SEVEN ISLAMIC TERRORIST ATTACKS IN USA IN SEVEN YEARS For Obama Administration:
“The terrorist attack by Abdulazeez marks the seventh terrorist attack on U.S. soil by Muslims during Barack Obama’s presidency.
Two dozen people have been killed in the attacks. Scores more have been seriously injured.”

Islam is at war with us and civilization.
I’ve never believed in extermination until ISIS arrived.
Re: #3 Tina
Thanks for the kind words. It was my honor to serve.
“I fear that this is much worse than even the Carter years.”
You are not wrong. I first enlisted in 1974 (how’s that for dating myself?) serving through the transition from Ford to Carter. Or, from a well intentioned president who should have worn his helmet more often, to one for whom a helmet would not have made any difference.
Yes, there were issues. It was at the end of the Vietnam War and the beginning of the all volunteer army. Recruiting standards had been lowered to scrape up enough bodies off the bottom of the barrel (present company excepted, of course) and there were severe cuts to the defense budget.
On the upside, the military was full of Vietnam War vets. ( I can still hear one of our Puerto Rican drill sergeants in basic training, who on laundry day, delighted in roaring at us “CHU PEOPLES GET CHORE CHEETS TOGEDER!”). You did not want to mess with these vets. They would chew you up and spit you out. However, if you were square with them, they had your back.
I spent my enlisted tour in (the former) West Germany. I was a wrench bender in a maintenance company working in my chosen MOS Small Arms Repair. Occasionally a repair job would come in that was beyond the capabilities of our Small Arms Shop, and would require transport to the next higher maintenance level. This task fell to me. Even as a lowly PFC (and later, SP4) I was issued a 1911A1 .45 caliber pistol along with (gasp!) live ammo. I loaded up the weapons in our section vehicle—

—and off I went all by my lonesome.
The following I cannot personally confirm of even say ever came to pass, and you will not find it in any published regs. I’ll just say I have it on good authority.
One of the facilities in our area was the stockade. The cadre there did not lack for something to do. Remember, bottom of the barrel. If a guard had to shoot an escaping prisoner, they were subject to immediate Court Martial. Court would be convened, the individual involved would be charged with destruction of government property, found guilty, and sentenced with a fine of one dollar to cover the ammunition expended. (The fine was usually reimbursed under the table with a carton of cigarettes or a six pack). Having been so convicted, the individual could never be charged or sued for that incident in any court, military or civil.
They had our backs.
RHT its interesting that we had armed guards at our headquarters in Sacramento 24/7, but that’s where the brass hung their hats. No such luck down the road at the army reserves or the recruiters offices. I can only hope they get some level of protection, these are not safe times for soft military targets.

That is disturbing and awful, and I hope it isn’t true.

I suppose packing him a lunch and seeing him off so he could go on to harm others might be a better approach.

As I said, I just do not have the words.
Tina: “RHY447 wrote: “…if a guard had to shoot an escaping prisoner…””
And that justifies breaking clear and necessary military regulations for what to do after such an event?
Ref: RHT 447, even if there were “words”,
when they come from the WH or liberal media they most likely would be spun in the same fashion as Benghazi
Chris: “And that justifies breaking clear and necessary military regulations for what to do after such an event?”
This was an anecdotal story. None of us knows the facts, if there are any.
The story does express, albeit in crude terms, the frustration and anger that many Vietnam vets rightly feel/felt after being targeted by left radicals (Alisky #12) and betrayed by the leadership of their own country!
Can that righteous tone, Chris, unless you are willing to take the party you support, defend and excuse to task by the same yardstick!

Tina: “This was an anecdotal story. None of us knows the facts, if there are any.”
Right, which is why I clearly said “I hope it isn’t true.”
“The story does express, albeit in crude terms, the frustration and anger that many Vietnam vets rightly feel/felt after being targeted by left radicals (Alisky #12) and betrayed by the leadership of their own country!”
They were betrayed by the leadership of their own country when they were sent to an fight in an illegal war of aggression for no good reason, and encouraged to use tactics that violated all standards of moral warfare. Agreed?
“Can that righteous tone, Chris, unless you are willing to take the party you support, defend and excuse to task by the same yardstick!”
I have criticized the Obama administration for their treatment of prisoners as well, many times. The legalization of indefinite detention, the treatment of Bradley Manning, the criminalization of whistleblowers, etc. has been disgusting and anti-American, and in a saner universe, Obama’s biggest critics would go after him for these issues, not for getting more people covered by health insurance. You cannot honestly say I don’t hold Democrats to the same standards as Republicans when it comes to this issue. I am nothing if not fair.
The above should read Chelsea Manning, not Bradley Manning.
Yes Chris you are very good at calling people out, if you think it puts a little shine on that halo you wear.
But on the big things you are nothing if not naive and narrow minded. You are nothing if not arrogant, going so far as to explain to us how we should bend to your will, adopt your narrow perspective, and criticize the President as you would.
You are so full of yourself!
Tina: “Yes Chris you are very good at calling people out, if you think it puts a little shine on that halo you wear.”
Have you considered the possibility that I’m legitimately a more ethical person than you are? Or does your chronic need to project your worst qualities onto others cause you to automatically reject that possibility?
This young Muslim seemed to have an ideal kind of background. He was not raised in a ghetto by abusive parents. He was well educated and had a promising career ahead. In had all the advantages his middle class parents living in America could offer him. But, once again we see none of the mattered when it came to Islamic extremism. His fundamentalist religious beliefs nullified all of the good America offered. Once again we see how his religious understanding allowed him to commit murder. This was cold blooded premeditated murder…the worst kind. He murder innocent, unarmed Americans, for no other reason than they were wearing a US military uniform, that was how deep his hate ran.
In a sense he was acting just like Army doctor, Major Nidal Hassan. He wanted to kill as many soldiers as he could for Allah. He was willing to die for his perverted Muslim extremist beliefs just like this jihadist in Oklahoma.
To the horror of liberals everywhere, a “gun free zone” did not deter him or for that matter, any of the terrorists.
Remember the case of Pfc. Naser Jason Abdo. He was just found guilty of attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction, attempted murder of US officers or employees, and four counts of possessing a weapon. His Army oath meant nothing, and he was willing to die for Islam.
Muslim convert Sgt. Asan Akbar of the 101st Airborne Division’s 326th Engineer Battalion, killed two and wounded 14 in a rifle and grenade attack while deployed in Kuwait. This traitor caused a lot of harm and he’s now allowed to live out the rest of his life in a jail cell instead of getting a firing squad.
Since 9/11 there have been a total of 69 home grown Muslim terrorist attacks or Muslim terrorist plots thwarted. The home grown attacks caused a lot of harm, making them extremely dangerous, as 9/11 proved when a mere dozen terrorists killed 3000 people.
So, I would like to ask an honest question to everyone reading this. At what point, if any, would you say it’s too risky to allow Muslims to serve in the military?
1. When more than 10 cases involved Muslims turning on their fellow soldiers, either through violence, sabotage or other traitorous acts?
2. When the count gets over 50?
3. When it goes over 150?
4. When it goes over 1000?
5. Doesn’t matter how many, we should never do it.
Last question: What was level of tolerance for members of the Communist party, the KKK, avowed anarchists or the Nazi Party, before we banned them from U.S. military service?
January 2015 – CINCINNATI — We are far from knowing the outcome of the case against Christopher Cornell, the young local man accused of plotting an attack on the U.S. Capitol, but if he is convicted, he would be added to a growing list of homegrown jihadist terrorists.
From Sept. 11, 2001, to January 2014, there were 74 known terrorist plots perpetrated by Americans, lawful U.S. residents or visitors largely radicalized here in the United States, according to the most recent data reported by the Congressional Research Service.
Five of those plots were carried out before law enforcement was able to intervene.
Fifty-three of the cases – almost 72 percent – happened after April 2009.
That’s a 152 percent increase over that time period – and constitutes a spike, according to the report by the service, an agency that works exclusively for the U.S. Congress, providing policy and legal analysis to committees and members of the House and Senate.
Several more terrorist incidents have happened since this article came out.
Jack I don’t think banning members of a huge world religion is the answer. In most of the cases you mention there were red flags that should have been seen prior to the attack. There are other measures we can take first, including lifting this silly ban on guns in certain locations–I don’t understand the rationale for that at all. We also shouldn’t ignore the many Muslim soldiers who serve honorably.
Chris I have no idea whether you are a “more ethical” person than I, but I doubt it. Your understanding is limited by your PC world view and a socialist political understanding. You react to what I say through a distorted, biased lens.
You have bullied and judged me and others based on left wing ideology bogus “facts” and you continue to support and defend a party whose leadership is the most radical that has ever served the republic. You continue to support and defend a party whose leadership has no respect for the Constitution, has no respect for the three branches of government, has no respect for the legal system, and has no respect for the Congressional process that is supposed to reflect the will of the people. This is a party that fronted and voted, twice, to act as dictator. Sure, you cherry pick a few issues that give you cover, but your continued support of a party that is against American values and process in it’s socialist tyrannical ambitions demonstrates a person of questionable ethics and morals.
My so-called “worst qualities” are an opinion you hold for two reasons in my opinion, 1. You don’t get what I or others like me are saying, and 2. You cannot tolerate speech or opinion that differs from yours.
Jack your last question pretty much nullifies the others. The banning of those groups followed activities that endangered the lives of Americans and/or sought to tyrannically rule the nation/world through intimidation and force. This group should be no different. We should at least be able to profile and scrutinize those Muslims who serve. Enemies are not up front about what they intend, they hide their intentions. Hassan was like an infiltrator once he was radicalized and even though he did signal his radicalization the PC environment blocked any action a competent leader might take.
Americans have not tolerated radicals and tyrants, to my knowledge, until now.
Americans have not tolerated tyrants but we have liberated their victims and we didn’t do it through a policy of tolerance, sympathy, consideration, or excuses.
My question is, when will the so-called peaceful Muslims step up and eliminate this toxic element from their ranks? It’s very difficult to be tolerant of peaceful Muslims after decades of their tolerance for the radical elements in their religion.
Chris, Tina, both really good comments. I don’t think an outright ban is practical, but I think we need to do some extra steps before we just allow any young Muslim male into the service to be sure they don’t have a hidden agenda. Its a shame that it should come to that, but do we really have a choice? We can’t ignore the world around us. Fundamentalist Muslims feel they are at war with us. This is a very bad situation and we sure don’t want to do anything to punish innocent people who are good Americans. But, we have to know we can trust them. It’s a tough call.
As for the other groups I mention, we had zero tolerance for their affiliation even though none of them had ever committed terrorism on the scale of the Muslims. Not one of them would be knowing allowed to serve in the military.
