More than one high ranking military man has expressed his admiration for the young men and womenthat served under George Bush. I have to hope that training and dedication has continued through the last six to seven years. This young man certainly offers up evidence that we can still count on these highly trained individuals to have our backs:
The US airman who was stabbed in the neck and hand while tackling a Kalashnikov-wielding terrorist to the ground in a packed Paris-bound train has emerged from hospital with a humble wave.
He became a hero while traveling on a high speed train from Amsterdam to France with his two friends – Oregon National Guard member Alek Skarlatos, 22, who was on leave after a tour of Afghanistan, and Anthony Sadler of California – when they ambushed a terrorist and averted a tragedy.
Having already been suspicious of Ayoub el-Qahzzani’s behavior, Stone leaped into action when he heard him load up a Kalashnikov in the toilet. When he came out to open fire, Stone, Skarlatos and Sadler charged and tackled him to the ground.
Stone was stabbed in the hand during the scuffle with a Klashnikov and Stanley knife on Friday – almost severing his thumb – but was hailed a hero as he disarmed the suspect then administered first aid to others before caring for .
Now…if we could just properly arm and lead them maybe we could put down the radical Islamist threat.
Taking care of our military when they return home broken would be a great idea too. We could make a start with the five+ million dollars we give annually to Planned Parenthood!
Off topic but related —

I heard the trio did a combination of ripping away the gunman’s AK and pistol, then beating him on the way down and then they continued to punch and pound their fists into his skull and whatever else they could, as hard as they could until, he was knocked unconscious…not exactly what they teach at the police academy, but it worked! Good for them, just too bad they didn’t have some heavy iron clubs.
Afghanistan veteran Skarlatos told British television: “I saw a guy enter the train with an AK and a handgun. At that time, I ducked down, and my friend Spencer [United States Air Force] ducked down. I looked to him and said to Spencer, let’s go.
“Spencer got to the guy first, grabbed the guy by the neck, and I grabbed the handgun and got the handgun away from the guy… then I grabbed the AK by his feet and started muzzle-bumping him in the head with it. And then everyone just started beating on the guy while Spencer held the choke-hold until he went unconscious”.
He then took the AK47 and started clearing the other carriages, believing there could be a second gunman. Upon inspecting the weapons he found it was the shooters own incompetence, as well as their quick thinking that prevented more from being injured – or even killed. He said:
“I noticed when I removed the round in the chamber of the AK that the primer had been stuck. That meant he had pulled the trigger on the AK but the primer was faulty, so the gun didn’t go off and he didn’t know how to fix it… when I cleared the handgun I noticed there was no magazine in it, so he either dropped it accidentally or didn’t load it properly so he was only able to get one shot off”.
Hats off to our American heroes!!!!
Next, we’ll hear that somehow Obumble will take credit for this military victory . . .
What undoubtedly was an act of heroism by those three Americans is being portrayed as overkill and misinterpreting the poor defendants intentions, mostly by the defendants lawyer and NBC reporting the storyline.
PARIS — “The gunman who was disarmed by passengers on a train in France two days ago looked weak and malnourished and said he had only meant to rob people, a lawyer who interviewed him after the attack said on Sunday.”
“(I saw) somebody who was very sick, somebody very weakened physically, as if he suffered from malnutrition, very, very thin and very haggard,” the lawyer, Sophie David, told BFMTV (Awwww)
David said the 26 year-old Moroccan expressed surprise when he was told that European authorities suspected him of being an Islamist militant. (who me?)
“He is dumbfounded by the terrorist motives attributed to his action,” said David, who described him as her client. She said he was barefoot and wearing only a white hospital shirt and a boxer shorts for the interview at a police station in Arras, northern France, where the train stopped after the incident.
The man, named by French and Spanish sources close to the case as Ayoub el Khazzani, told David he found (I once found a cool rock)the Kalashnikov he was carrying in a park near the Gare du Midi rail station in Brussels where he was in the habit of sleeping.
(Funny!,no mention of the hand gun or the extra AK magazines he was carrying)
“A few days later (maybe it took that long to find the handgun and the multiple AK magazines, you know like a Easter egg hunt) he decided to get on a train that some other homeless people told him would be full of wealthy people traveling from Amsterdam to Paris and he hoped to feed himself by armed robbery,” David said.
(Seems fair and reasonable, especially in Socialistic France these days,)
My heavens, where is Eric Holder, and his 6 pack pal, this guy needs a sit down
I’m surprised that a lawyer would resort to such an obvious lie, then again he may be doing it to be sure his client gets the max! lol
Here in the USA our lawyers would be more creative, they would be showing it was… his terrible childhood caused by an unfair system and/or diminished capacity due to brain damage during his Mums pregnancy…he was a victim of unavoidable circumstances!!!! Yeah, unavoidable circumstances, that’s the ticket.
Let’s recap the facts:
1. Profile: Muslim male, between the ages of 18-35, from a red flag country, recent travels to foreign Islamic contact.
2. Under watch by at least two governments for suspicious (radical contacts) activity.
3. Known links to terrorists in France. Two of his associates recently killed in gun battle during anti-terrorist police raid.
4. Armed with illegal AK47, the single most popular terrorist weapon, which he fired.
5. Armed with illegal backup weapon, pistol.
6. Armed with backup weapon, knife, which he used violently.
7. Armed with multiple loaded magazines…also illegal.
8. Sneaked illegal weapons onto the train, passed security guards.
9. Removed clothing above his waistline in bathroom and emerged with his illegal weapons drawn.
10. He had plans to travel to Syria to join ISIS and had established ISIS connection.
11. If he was only trying to rob people why did he shoot a passenger in the back and another in the neck?
12. Why attack passengers with a box cutter?
The only thing he didn’t do was to issue a signed proclamation declaring, I am a Muslim terrorist and I am here to kill all you infidels because Allah commands it! Yours truly, Abu
I’m surprised the news in North Korean didn’t report this as, “3 American gangsters beat and rob innocent Muslim of his worldly possession while he was on a holy pilgrimage.”
This is a proud day for American service members and citizens alike. It could have ended so badly but they saw the danger and reacted with great bravery to prevent disaster.
It’s quite a contrast from the liberal spin that tells us we Americans aren’t liked very much overseas. I’ll bet they like us a little bit more now….
They are sure getting a lot of press and that’s good, but it also makes them targets too. I heard they have been warned. You may recall that ISIS has been trying to scare service personnel by publishing their names and addresses whenever they can and promising to get them, so these 3 guys better be careful.
I’m glad these soldiers saved the lives of all of those on board the train. But, I’m appalled that the military is forcibly discharging a Green Beret for hitting a man who raped a boy and beat up the boys mother.
They all are heroes in my book and should all be treated the same. The boy and his mother’s lives matter too.
Army kicking out decorated Green Beret who stood up for Afghan rape victim:
“EXCLUSIVE: The U.S. Army is kicking out a decorated Green Beret after an 11-year Special Forces career, after he got in trouble for shoving an Afghan police commander accused of raping a boy and beating up his mother when she reported the incident.
The case of Sgt. 1st Class Charles Martland now has the attention of Congress, with Rep. Duncan Hunter writing to Defense Secretary Ash Carter challenging the decision.
“I am once again dismayed by the Army’s actions in this case,” Hunter, R-Calif., wrote in a letter to Carter.
Martland is described by many of his teammates as the finest soldier they have ever served alongside.
But his Army career changed course during his second deployment to Afghanistan in 2011. After learning an Afghan boy was raped and his mother beaten, Martland and his team leader confronted a local police commander they had trained, armed and paid with U.S. taxpayer dollars. When the man laughed off the incident, they physically confronted him.
They were punished by the Army at the time — but why exactly Martland is now being discharged is a matter of dispute. Army sources cited his accolades, including being named runner-up for 2014 Special Warfare Training Group Instructor of the Year from a pool of 400 senior leaders in Special Forces, in questioning the decision.
As for the incident in 2011, Hunter told Carter: “To intervene was a moral decision, and SFC Martland and his Special Forces team felt they had no choice but to respond.”
Casey, a former Green Beret teammate who would only use his first name since he is now a member of a federal counterterrorism team, told Fox News, “If I was a commander, I would have given him an award. They saved that kid’s life.”

Re Peggy “Army kicking out decorated Green Beret who stood up for Afghan rape victim”
This is absolutely outrageous. Shame on the U.S. Army. It IS appalling, Peggy.

The Most Pathetic Headline to Come Out of the Terrorist Attack on French Train

Thanks so much too to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, a bastion of the rabidly progressive left wing! A brilliant bit of editorial work.
I can’t explain this reasoning anymore than I can explain why they have tossed some of our best generals out. Something is very wrong in Washington.
