Trey Gowdy, Republican Chairman on the House Select Committee looking into events surrounding the Benghazi attacks in Libya, was on Face the Nation today. When asked he took the opportunity to politely dress down Republican colleagues. Breitbart posted the quotes:
“I have told my own Republican colleagues and friends, shut up talking about things that you don’t know anything about, and unless you’re on the committee, you have no idea what we’ve done.”
“If you look at the facts, we have done 50 witnesses, one of whom you could argue was exclusively related to her email, that was shortest interview we have done,” he continued. “We have 50,000 new documents that don’t have anything to do with Secretary Clinton. She’s an important witness, she is one witness and by the time we’re through, we will have interviewed 70 witnesses. She’s one out of 70. I get that she gets more attention than the other 69. But frankly if you ask me the eye witnesses on the ground that night in Benghazi are more important to me as former prosecutor than the form of secretary of state.”
He added, “There are three people who don’t have any idea what they’re talking about. Two of my colleagues, the two Republican members of the conference have never asked for update on our committee. They couldn’t name three witnesses we’ve talked to. They couldn’t tell you a single document production that we have received. And the former staffer left in June, He has no idea what we’ve done since June and allegation about Secretary Clinton, he never said until he sat down with somebody in your profession last Friday. These three wouldn’t even be called as a witness in my former job because they have no first-hand knowledge.”
Trey Gowdy is an upstanding man who’s committee is doing a thorough job. He is the best shot the American people have at getting to the bottom of what went wrong on the 911 anniversary terror attack that ended the lives of Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen A. Doherty and Tyrone S. Woods.
As I read these quotes I remembered the people who were rescued and the fact that they have not been allowed to speak to the press. I imagine some are among the 70 witnesses that Trey Gowdy’s committee will have interviewed when the work is complete.

In addition to $hrilLIARy’s famous repeated “I don’t recall” answers heard so often during previous testimonies, betcha what we’ll hear from $hrilLIARy when she testifies this time (now that her emails have popped up – which was unknown during all of the previous “investigations”) before the Benghazi Committee will be “I refuse to testify on the grounds that this committee is politically motivated . . . . . .”

At the very least Hillary’s responses will be evasive. I’m sure she has rehearsed pat answers. It could get interesting if she loses it, as she did when she said, “With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night decided to go kill some Americans? What difference, at this point, does it make?”
Hillary doesn’t like her imperial position to be challenged. She gets very angry when it is…shoes have been known to fly! I doubt it will come to that but I also know Gowdy will come armed with a basket full of shrewd, pointed questions. Yep, she just might lose it.
The lefties on the committee will praise her “service” and try to deflect.
DC is a boiling cauldron of corruption. I applaud those who take these matters seriously on behalf of the people. It must be incredibly frustrating when so many others attempt to swee things under the rug and pretend that our laws don’t apply to them.
Tina Give it up. if Hilliary has done something wrong they can not find it. Do you honestly think she would not be arrested yet? I would even advocate for that!

Elijah Cummings has released a report on the hearings as well. Ill-conceived since they are incomplete. But then he’s been a thorn in these precedings since the start doing all he can to try to undermine the work. His report is posted here. It was widely distributed among Democrats priotr to Hillarys testimony as a defense tool.
