Climate Summit Underway – Obama Yammers On

global warming toonPosted by Tina

Our President, like 146 other world leaders, was given 3 minutes to speak at the climate change conference (COP21) but even after three beeps to remind him of the time limit he yammered on for “more than eight and a half minutes.” Excerpts from NBC News:

“I’ve come here personally, as the leader of the world’s largest economy and the second-largest emitter, to say that the United States of America not only recognizes our responsibility in creating this problem, we embrace our responsibility to do something about it,” Obama told the summit.

The beeps continued every 30 seconds, but the president plowed on.

“One of the enemies that we’ll be fighting at this conference is cynicism, the notion we can’t do anything about climate change,” he continued, seemingly undeterred by the regular interruptions over his speech.

His prepared remarks took fourteen minutes to deliver, an astounding indication that he had no intention of limiting his remarks to the three minutes time allotment.

The President, like most lefties, are perpetual spenders of other peoples money. He’s spent a bundle over the last seven years and is promising to spend more at this conference for little return. Our economy has been scrapping bottom for seven years, our debt is over the moon, but that didn’t stop the Prez, John Kerry, Susan Rice and others from dining at L’Ambroisie in Paris at 200 smackers a meal. Maybe, as host, French President Hollande picked up the tab.

The President has launched Mission Innovation

…an initiative to dramatically accelerate public and private global clean energy innovation to address global climate change, provide affordable clean energy to consumers, including in the developing world, and create additional commercial opportunities in clean energy.

Through the initiative, 20 countries are committing to double their respective clean energy research and development (R&D) investment over five years. These countries include the top five most populous nations – China, India, the United States, Indonesia, and Brazil. They stretch across five continents. And when you add all partner countries together, they represent 75 percent of the world’s CO2 emissions from electricity, and more than 80 percent of the world’s clean energy R&D investment.

They also represent the myriad ways we create and use energy. The Mission Innovation members include some of the largest oil and gas producers – the United States, Canada, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Norway and Indonesia – as well as many with high penetration of renewables in their power sectors, such as Canada, Norway, Denmark, Brazil and Chile.

I applaud the private sector investment, unless it has been coerced, but you can look forward to rising prices for fuel, as the President promised when he first ran for president.

Articles for your consideration on the climate change subject:

Climate Depot informs that “George Soros, Tom Steyer are ‘investors’ in Obama’s new ‘clean’ energy research plan”

Not so coincidentally, Breitbart informs us of, “The New King Coal: George Soros”:

U.S. Securities and Exchange Act filings indicate that Soros has purchased an initial 1 million shares of Peabody Energy and 553,200 shares of Arch Coal, the two largest publicly traded U.S. coal companies. As pointed out last week, both companies have been driven perilously close to bankruptcy by the combination of President Obama’s “war on coal” and inexpensive natural gas brought on by the hydrofracturing revolution.

Under the hypothesis that not even socialists would leave trillions of dollars worth of a perfectly safe and clean energy source in the ground for the sake of the imaginary “climate crisis,” I posited that once the existing coal industry ownership was wiped out by President Obama’s regulatory onslaught, a new politically correct ownership would rehabilitate the fuel by contributing to Democrats.

Fred Singer at The American Thinker writes, ” The Burden of Proof on Climate Change” is on the alarmists.

Alarmism about climate change has been ongoing for decades. It’s based on faulty computer models, scams, corrupt voices in it for money, and politics and power. The gist of the message at the Climate conference today is that global warming is a bigger threat than terrorism. I guess that’s why Putin and Obama are spending time together discussing that “little situation” in Syria.

Stay tuned, the particulars from the conference aren’t out yet…the yammering hasn’t quite played out.

  1. Chris says:

Wow, those 146 world leaders must all be really stupid to believe in climate change.

  2. Tina says:

Stupid, opportunistic, duped, pick your poison. Anyone who thinks he can “save the planet” by controlling something that is mostly influenced by volcanic activity, sun cycles, and other powerful natural sources has to be a little stupid. Anyone who will spend trillions in taxpayer dollars to affect the global temperature by a fraction has to be a little nutty too, unless he is an opportunist.

This wealth transfer scheme will have negligent affect on climate and harm our economy to a much greater degree, and quite possibly compromise our freedom and sovereignty, if Congress and the American people fail to act.

This opinion sums it up quite well.

  3. Dewey says:

All the world leaders and all the Reputable scientists are just dummies I guess. The Republicans on the science committee in Congress say no scientists allowed!

The world is correct. The Republicans are wrong. Funny how a small group of republicans know more than everybody even after the Big Oil companies are busted for hiding what they found out years ago!

Thanks Obama you are the whole problem in the world. No worries Congress denied you the money to dedicate to climate change. The Koch Brothers run this congress do not get in the way Mr Obama.

Who cares about life when there is money to be made?

    • Tina says:

Sorry pal but it isn’t just a “small group of republicans in Congress” who don’t buy into this incredible scam. Most of the people in the world who have fallen for it can be forgiven since it’s the #1 propaganda story of two centuries so far. Good Lord it’s been preached to children in books and movies and schools for several decades…we have all those millenials who were raised on the hype. Scientists, award winning world renowned scientist who disagree are labeled “deniers” by so-called real scientists who ignore the first tenet of science…nothing is ever “settled,” and if one scientist challenges the theory it is definitely not settled.

“Who cares about life when there is money to be made?”

Oh yes? Why not ask Al Gore who has profited wildly off this hoax. His net worth, about $1.7 million has grown to more than $200 million.

Or how about George Soros and Barrack Obama? If you think they haven’t found ways to profit from this scam you’re nuts.

Cathy Zoi, Assistant Secretary of Energy, is positioned to make millions from Obama’s green policies:

Zoi, who left her position as CEO of the Alliance for Climate Protection — founded by Al Gore — to serve as assistant secretary for energy efficiency and renewable energy, now manages billions in “green jobs” funding. But the disclosure documents show that Zoi not only is in a position to affect the fortunes of her previous employer, ex-Vice President Al Gore, but that she herself has large holdings in two firms that could directly profit from policies proposed by the Department of Energy.

Among Zoi’s holdings are shares in Serious Materials, Inc., the previously sleepy, now bustling, friend of the Obama White House whose public policy operation is headed by her husband. Between them, Zoi and her husband hold 120,000 shares in Serious Materials, as well as stock options. Reporter John Stossel has already explored what he sees as the “crony capitalism” implied by Zoi being so able to influence the fortunes of a company to which she is so closely associated.

The bane of your existence, big corporations, have positioned themselves to profit from Obama’s green policies, GE; PG&E; Monsanto; chemical company BASF; Nephila Capital, a Bermuda hedge fund that trades weather derivatives; Water Asset Management which buys water rights and invests in water treatment plants; Land Commodities; Morgan Stanley created the Environment and Social Finance Group; Merrill Lynch, Barclays Capital, and JPMorgan Chase have also established environmental finance and carbon trading desks. Even the Kochs, through some of their subsidiaries, are profiting from the renewable energy game.

WALL STREET, Dewey, the hated WALL STREET is making profits from this scam.and a lot of them are lefties that helped push the hoax. Regulations for profit! Regulations established not by Congress as they should but by an unaccountable EPA czar!

      You are a pathetic phony!

  4. Dewey says:

And while we are at it American Companies do not need that pesky EPA! Look at how well they did for China with no regulations! let’s get rid of clean air regulations cause we can look like this too!

    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-30826128

I want my LA smog back!

    • Tina says:

Dewey it has been the progressive left green movement that has, year after year, allowed China and other polluting nations to continue without regulations!

Meanwhile they are attempting to transfer trillions in wealth from the US to “save the planet” when our nation has led the world already in cleaning our air and water.

NO PERSON HAS ASKED TO END ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS THAT ARE REASONABLE.

Regulations that kill the coal industry so that billionaire friend to Barrack Obama, George Soros, can buy up a controlling interest in the two biggest coal companies is not about cleaning the air. It is about power and control. It is fascist! It is the kind of thing you pretend is so disturbing to you. What a phony!

You are also such a horrendous liar…and you are ill-informed, which is no excuse for your lies!

THIS SCAM IS ABOUT POWER AND A TRANSFER OF WEALTH.

If I were you I’d start worrying more about a job and having something to eat. This bunch of power hungry socialist is bent on making America a third world country.

  5. Tina says:

I’d like to shove it down your throat. You don’t pay attention. You make things up in our head. Regulations are important for safety. Regulations that create opportunities for crony capitalism are bogus abuses of power! Regulations that pick winners and losers for money and power are abuses of power.

You aren’t a serious concerned citizen; you’re a left wing tool.

Am awarding Obumble 4 Pinocchios, 6 Harwoods and 12 Politicos for his climate change hoax remarks in Paris.

“Wow, those 146 world leaders must all be really stupid to believe in climate change.”

  8. Pie Guevara says:

    146. Hmmmm. Is that more or less than the world leaders who believed in eugennics?

  9. Pie Guevara says:

Ooops, my bad, that should have read …

    146. Hmmmm. Is that more or less than the world leaders who believed in eugenics?

    • Chris says:

Bad analogy; eugenics is prescriptive, whereas the theory of anthropogenic climate change is descriptive. Eugenics is of course scientifically possible, and no one disputes that; the only disputes are over the ethics of eugenics. The disputes over AGW we are discussing are over its very existence, though of course whether or not it exists does have ethical implications.

A lesson for climate consensus lovers: 10 Reasons Why We Shouldn’t Worry About man Made Global Warming.

Just in case there are people out there who would like to read something real.

  11. Pie Guevara says:

Seriously, Chris uses the terms “climate change.” Get that? He is trying to control the debate by misusing specific language. Nope, that is not what the conference was about.

That conference was about CAGW, not “climate change.”

  12. Tina says:

    Paths to Knowledge:

Science does not deal in absolute proofs. The scientific method depends upon falsification of alternative hypotheses until only one remains.

But “falsification” in science is not absolute. Instead, it is a matter of relative probabilities. Such “proof” by falsification of all alternatives is never final: All scientific laws, theories and hypotheses forever remain subject to falsification at any time–at least in principle, even if the odds of that ever happening are infinitesimally small.

All that is required to falsify an hypothesis, or to falsify the currently-accepted theory, is for an alternative hypothesis to be shown–by empirical evidence and quantitative analysis of the relative probabilities–to have a statistically-significant higher probability of being correct.

The CAGW hypothesis is that a) The Earth’s climate is warming, b) The warming is substantially a result of human emissions of CO2 and, c) The magnitude of the warming will be enough to have significant effects, and d) The net effects of the warming will be harmful, and e) The harm caused by the warming will be great enough to be worth the net costs of politically-coerced mitigation.

The alternative hypothesis–which is also the null hypothesis (<= click the link for more info)–is that a) The warming is substantially due to natural causes for which humans are not substantially responsible, and/or b) The magnitude of any human-caused warming will not be not be great enough to have significant effects by itself (regardless of the effects of any warming not caused by man,) and/or c) The net effects of warming will not be harmfull–or if they are, then not by enough to be worth the cost of politically-coerced mitigation.

The null hypothesis has never been falsified. There have been no peer-reviewed studies published that quantitatively analyze both p(CAGW | Historical-Temperature-Data) [the probability that CAGW hypothesis is true, given the historical temperature data] and p(NullHypothesis | Historical-Temperature-Data) [the probability that the Null Hypothesis is true, given the historical temperature data], showing that the former (CAGW) has a statistically significant higher probability of being true than the latter (the null hypothesis–that warming is substantially natural.) Not one. (continues)

Tina nails it, but she will never be able to persuade a an English major. His mind is shut.
