File this story under, “Be careful what you ask for!” The military has accepted women in combat roles, without exclusions. Therefore, women being equal to their male counterparts (so says the gov) then they must also be eligible for the draft, this is equality and its only fair. You liberals wanted equality – here it is.
Effective immediately, President Obama ought to demand legislation for drafting females into the military as well as males; to do any less would wreak of hypocrisy.
Lets see what happens when lil Bunkie gets her notice from Uncle Sam to register for the draft or lose her college funding! Do you think Mommy and Daddy will soon be burning up the phone lines to their liberal democrat representative, demanding young ladies be excluded from combat and taken off the draft rolls? I do….hehehe. (Morons)
There hasn’t been a draft for a long time, and there should be no selective service, but if we must have either than they should apply to men and women equally.
I’m not sure this is quite the gotcha you intend it to be–this issue doesn’t come up a lot in feminist circles, but those I’ve talked to about this issue mostly agree with me.
No problem with drafting women. In fact, I’d like to see a voluntary 2-year commitment to either a branch of the military or peace corps as a requirement to vote or hold public office.
I would agree, but who could stand being cooped up with Barbara Boxer or Debbie Wasserman Schultz for two years? Cruel and unusual punishment.
Hey…I’d have to do it even If the policy wasn’t changed.
Serving in the military and participating in all types of combat missions are two different things.
Heck, all it took was a quick Google search of “feminist draft” to show that feminists have been discussing these issues for decades, that groups like NOW and the ACLU’s Women’s Rights project have fought against selective service for being discriminatory, that some feminists have attempted to sign up for selective service and that this was a hotly contested issue even in 1982:
“It is clear that with or without the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment Congress has the legal capacity to call for the conscription of women and to dictate their place in the armed forces. The conscription of women is certainly not a new idea. Both Houses of Congress seriously considered drafting women during the Second World War. The Women’s Committee to Oppose Conscription, the subject of this paper, was organized early in 1943 to combat legislative action first surrounding the conscription of women, and then, peacetime conscription for all young people. The organizers of the Committee clearly supported the equal rights of women, but were opposed to any extension of registration or conscription to the female portion of the population.”

Your attempted gotcha is outdated and ignorant.
Since when is Jack ignorant?
I didn’t call Jack ignorant. I said his argument was ignorant.
But who made his argument or did it just make itself up?
If the draft ever returns, it will be a Democrat who does it.
Chris I’d say you’re probably right about NOW, the only problem is that they don’t speak for a majority of women anymore (if ever), and there’s probably a lot of women who would not wish to be drafted or even have to deal with selective service. My hats off to those who do.
Mine too Steve.
I know there are a lot of men who would never want to be drafted or deal with selective service. There are a lot of men who would also never want to do that. Neither of us should have to (the threat of forcing citizens to fight and die is a pretty big violation of rifts, and about as big government as can be), but if it is going to exist, it should apply to both genders.
Equality! What a concept!
Just make sure Hillary doesn’t get in the White House again and Slick Willy, either.
Here’s is the truth of what disgusting creatures they both are. They are truly criminals. This is a must view and needs to go viral.

If I am forced to vote for Trump versus Hillary in the general election I will not be a happy camper.
Nor I.
Ditto…but I’d do it in a heartbeat. Both the democrats and the republican elites need a wake up call.
A draft in general is wrong. No person should be forced to fight these corporate wars. if it comes to all out WW3 we will have no choice and people will join.
Not all men or Women have the will to kill. You are not free when forced into a war.
