Republican Debate: Rubio and Cruz Mock Trump

Posted by Tina

Trump supporters have been asked, and they fiercely defend, their support of Donald Trump for one reason…he is not part of the political establishment. They back that up with the fact that his experience is in the financial arena. The mantra…anyone but a politician!

Well, the big bully on the block was finally and creatively mocked last night by his two main opponents and once again he demonstrated that he can dish it out but he can’t take it. His face was a kaleidoscope of frustration and effrontery. The exchange with Rubio was particularly entertaining. Trump accused Marco of repeating himself and then proceeded to repeat himself, twice, which a relaxed Marco played off of like a professional funnyman. Cruz took him on from a more serious position calling his reliability into question.

Enter Chris Christie this morning and his announcement that he will endorse Trump. Echo Kasich saying nobody will win next week but Trump

Polls show Cruz ahead of Trump in Texas. Trump just praised Cruz as a tough guy and Rubio as a joker. The race could be tumbled a bit after this week-end…sure hope so.

  1. Chris says:

“Enter Chris Christie this morning and his announcement that he will endorse Trump.”

    WHAT.

Seriously, I expected better of Christie.

  2. J. Soden says:

“Make America Great Again” is a good slogan for TheDonald, but he needs to back it up with some explanations as to HOW he’s going to do that.
We’ve already had 8 years of a slogan-spouting prez unable to nothing except have photo-ops, golf, vacation and spend taxpayer $$ like there’s no tomorrow.
Should TheDonald be the nominee, he still has to garner votes from Demwits in order to move into the white house.
Time for the acting like kindergarteners on the playground with the name-calling to stop from ALL the candidates!

  3. Dewster says:

I found the whole thing childish. I guess attacking each other and speaking to the donors is all one needs to be elected.

There was no discussion about an actual policy.

    Entertainment at best. Sad.
    It is all an act.

Why don’t we just make all of them wear sponsor patches including Hilliary.

  4. Peggy says:

If those tRump supporters don’t wake up by Super Tuesday tRump will be the GOP candidate, unless the RNC pulls off a brokered convention.

Rubio repeatedly called tRump a conman all day long today, which in my opinion he is along with being a shill for Hillary. If you haven’t looked into the Trump University class action lawsuits it’s worth checking out.

Rubio and Cruz did do a good job of pointing out many of tRumps recent contradictory statements and they need to keep it up in their stump speeches and during the next debate, even if tRump doesn’t show up again.

  5. Peggy says:

Do not understand how tRump would get one person with a brain to vote for him.

“One of the things I’m going to do if I win, and I hope we do and we’re certainly leading. I’m going to open up our libel laws so when they write purposely negative and horrible and false articles, we can sue them and win lots of money. We’re going to open up those libel laws. So when The New York Times writes a hit piece which is a total disgrace or when The Washington Post, which is there for other reasons, writes a hit piece, we can sue them and win money instead of having no chance of winning because they’re totally protected,” Trump said.

    […]

“You see, with me, they’re not protected, because I’m not like other people but I’m not taking money. I’m not taking their money,” Trump said on Friday. “We’re going to open up libel laws, and we’re going to have people sue you like you’ve never got sued before.”

  6. Pie Guevara says:

I didn’t expect any better from Christie and he delivered on those expectations. I cheered when he folded up his tent, now if he will just go away. Don;t go away mad, just go away.

Hopefully his endorsement of Trump will be the kiss of death.

  7. Libby says:

Aaron Barlow on Salon today. Getting past the title and photo will be difficult. (They irritated me, and I’m supposed to be on the team.) But it’s interesting. Tell me if it’s true.

  8. Tina says:

Libby you need to give us more information of you expect a response.

  9. Libby says:

If I can type granuloma, you can type salon, right … or wrong?

  10. Peggy says:

He really liked him before he ran against him, right Peggy?

Politics is a crazy ugly business. I’ll be glad when Thanksgiving has arrived. Just hope we have something to be thankful for.

  11. dewster says:

Trump has gathered the voters by pandering.

Also thinking of America as a business that needs to negotiate deals for corporations is fascist. Look Trump and his father have both redlined in RE transactions. The gathering of racists and the ignorant voters has him on top.

Trump is an authoritarian dictator type. it amazes me how Americans are following the Hitler type of election. There are amazing parallels to Hitlers election.

We need to fix the system or we will not be a free country. We are not a free country now. We are ran by the hedgefund managers and corporations. They write the laws for profit. Any honest person in congress will tell you that.

The Wall? Drugs come in by tunnel. What will these walls do? Lock us in.
