BIG BROTHER: EPA Backed System to Monitor Workplace Water and Energy Usage

Posted by Tina

They label the political right “fascist” and yet, when given the opportunity to govern uninhibited, the left shows it’s true authoritarian colors. The EPA under Obama has been given such an opportunity. This need to control every aspect of our lives is straight out of the fiction novels, “1984”, “Fahrenheit 451”, and “Brave New World”.

Get this:

The Environmental Protection Agency is spending nearly $300,000 to develop technology that will track the energy and water use of office buildings, with a colored light bulb system that will send “visual messages” to employees when they are using too much.

Lucid Design Group, a California-based software company, received the funding from the agency with the goal to “change the habits” of Americans at work.

This is part of an EPA program that awards companies who design new technologies to save the planet.

All they want to do is “change our habits,” they say. And in twenty years, if they follow the leftist pattern, companies will be fined for using more than their “fair share.”

These lefty radicals aren’t conservationists. They don’t think like Americans think. They are power hungry, authoritarian, control freaks…otherwise known as fascists.

Fascism: 1.”Everything in the state”. The Government is supreme and the country is all-encompasing, and all within it must conform to the ruling body, often a dictator.

2.”Nothing outside the state”. The country must grow and the implied goal of any fascist nation is to rule the world, and have every human submit to the government.

3.”Nothing against the state”. Any type of questioning the government is not to be tolerated. If you do not see things our way, you are wrong. If you do not agree with the government, you cannot be allowed to live and taint the minds of the rest of the good citizens.

The ultimate goal of these radicals is a one world government with open borders and a ruling elite in which every human must submit to the “higher intellect” of the governing elite. ABSOLUTELY UN-AMERICAN!

You’re right. Except for the fact that no business is required to use this program, this is government overreach at its most totalitarian! It’s just like that poem, “First they came for our high energy usage, and I said nothing, because it was completely voluntary and there were no consequences for using too much energy!” And we all know that that poem was about how much socialists suck! (1984, too! George Orwell hated socialism so much he became one just to blend in with the enemy!)

    Your paranoia is hilarious.

  2. Dewster says:

Instead of complaining look for the corporation behind it. Fascist? Like privatizing everything?

How about Take the gov back. That is the solution.

Follow the Money it has no party.

  3. Tina says:

Dewey in America we the people are the government.

Unfortunately we seem to have forgotten who we are.

We have given those who govern at the federal level too much power in our lives. That has enticed and elevated big money and special interest groups to positions of control. We have corrupted the representative government system.

Your “solution” amounts to the formation of a tyrannical overlord in the form of a body that grabs all profits from our labors and chooses how much and in what form we will be provided. That is a recipe straight out of Marx. There is no power for the individual in that. There is no “we the people” in that.

Your thought may be that it’s okay because you think the rich have too much and they can afford high taxation. But you’re falling into a big trap. People with money will stop producing if the fruits of their investment and work is going to be taken away from them. What money is taken, will be used by government to provide services for everyone but the economy will continue to falter and die, jobs and opportunity will dry up, and eventually everyone will share in the misery. (See Venezuela)

The right to strive (pursue happiness) and profit from our labors (property rights) are basic tenets of freedom for individuals. Private property (profit) is what makes it possible for the people to remain free and to determine their own lives. Your ability to own land, material goods, and to make profits is what separates you from authoritarian control.

We agree that big money from corporations or big special interest organizations have too much influence but the problem is not the money. The problem is a federal government with too much power and too willing to compromise for power and personal gain.

As we all know, power corrupts. It’s clear our leaders no longer serve the people and the states, providing those limited obligations established in the constitution. Our leaders at the federal level serve whomever holds out a vote, a bribe, or makes a threat.

The founders established a limited federal government because they knew that too much power concentrated at the top would rot the system. The federal government was formed by the states for protection and a sense of unity not as a body of control over the people. The federal government has certain limited powers under the Constitution, the most important being the defense of the “united” states. We need to break up the power structures of the federal government and send those responsibilities back to the states and the people.

I admit I don’t read all of Dewey’s comments, but I have never seen him propose anything like this. This seems like another strawman argument.

Of course you don’t Chris. Your understanding of socialism is shallow and naive. You are enamored with it, enticed by what looks like a more compassionate system. You refuse to learn from history or even from what is directly under your nose. You don’t understand the value of freedom, the rule of law, capitalism, profits, or property rights. You’ve been too wrapped up with race and social issues to bother learning that without these nothing else has a prayer.

I’ve explained til I’m blue in the face, often with great patience, and you just don’t (won’t) get it.

Socialists would never suggest a tyrannical overlord…the gladly (unconsciously) embrace a pathway to tyranny.

Bernie Sanders tax policy and big government power grab will destroy what’s left of our economy…and that will trickle down in the form of lost jobs, lost opportunity, and greater dependency. His ideas create the perfect environment for overlord thinkers to step in and take over promising to make things better.

Americans used to understand that. What the he77 has our educations system wrought!

Does this inexperienced fool actually think people with a lot of money will bother to engage in activities that can be taxed at 90%? Even rich liberals will quietly change how they handle put their wealth to protect their principle! YOU WOULD TOO!

      Tina,

Absolutely no part of what you wrote above justifies your assertion that Dewey supports the formation of a body that “grabs all profits of our labors.”

The reason you did not support that assertion is because you cannot support that assertion. Because you made it up.

Just like you made up this:

“Does this inexperienced fool actually think people with a lot of money will bother to engage in activities that can be taxed at 90%?”

No one has suggested taxing anything at 90%. Not Dewey, and not Bernie. You are creating strawman arguments, because you lack confidence in your ability to address the real arguments of those who disagree with you.

      Stop misrepresenting people.
