Governor Jumps the Gun, Proclaims Cop Guilty

by Jack

The Governor of Minnesota said shortly after an armed black male by the name of Philando Castile was shot during a traffic stop, “Would this have happened if those passengers, the driver and the passengers, were white?” Dayton said. “I don’t think it would have. … I think all of us in Minnesota are forced to confront that this kind of racism exists.”

The false narrative went out first, it was claimed to be a traffic stop for a broken tail light. Not true. The victim’s girlfriend claimed he told the police he had a gun, but that he has a permit to carry it. Not true. The girlfriend further claimed that while reaching for his wallet to produce the CCW and driver’s license the police officer shot him for no reason. The governor of Minnesota claimed he was shot because he was black. Neither claim was true.

We now know from police records the officer radioed in that he was stopping the vehicle, not for a tail light, but because he believed at least one occupant was an armed robbery suspect that was using a handgun.

The officer approached the vehicle attempting to determine who the occupants were. They were using due caution because they may have been dealing with an armed felon. In actual fact, they were. Philando Castile was an ex-con in possession of a loaded weapon. The Sheriff’s Dept., said they had no record of issuing a permit to Castile. So the CCW issue appears to be completely bogus. There is no State that issues ex-felons a CCW permit.

The officer shot Castile, not because he was black, but because this was a high risk stop. Castile allegedly told the officer he was in fact armed. He was ordered to keep his hands where he could see them and he did not comply. It was necessary for the officer to order him to comply twice and when he didn’t and he continued to reach behind his back that was a furtive movement that could have been an effort to reach for his handgun, Castile was shot.

Was Castile the robber that was seen on the security video at the robbery victim’s store?  If he has ID’d, the information has not been made public.  However, we know now that his physical description does closely match the main suspect. Castile’s girlfriend also matches the second suspect.

Now we know why the stop was made and we know why the officer used forced.  He did not shoot the suspect because was an armed black man.  Rather, Castile was shot because he would not comply with the officer’s orders.  He was in fact armed and under such circumstances that the officer had a reasonable fear for his safety and that of his partners, if Castile continued to reach behind his back for a weapon.

It was Castile’s own actions that forced the officer to shoot.  The officer was reacting to the threat of a handgun, by a possible armed robbery suspect, not because the suspect was black.  And certainly not because he claimed to have in his possession a legal, but concealed handgun.

No matter what you may think about this incident, it is complicated and far from the outrageously wrong narrative that first came out.

The case is now under intense investigation and prudence would indicate that all the facts should be allowed to come out before anyone else jumps to conclusions, like the governor did.

Thank You for looking into this for us, the more facts revealed that better we can access the cause of action.

Most all legal CCW carriers understand the reasons of keeping your hands in plain view while disclosing gun carry info to a officer who stopped you for whatever, if fact that’s good advise for anyone stopped by the police. hang onto the steering wheel until the office can determine your status.

As to the Taillight reason, it was a excellent excuse to offer the driver why he was stopped, if only to deescalate the situation with the drive, and relax the driver, especially if he was involved in a crime.

Jack, This will be interesting to read more information about in the future, thank you for keeping informed, even if it goes against the police officer, either way I know you will.

And yes the Governor wrong, extremely wrong and could have caused further problems by running his mouth.
He was just a typical politician putting on a photo op show for a voting base, had he kept his mouth shut, he would have appeared more capable of leadership.

Again, you can tell yourselves all the stories you like. Changes nothing. White guy with girlfriend and kid, let is not forget the kid in the back seat, would have had his fix-it ticket and been on his not-so-merry way in ten minutes.

Until you face this, we can make no progress.

Libby your commonly held belief does not hold water. In every instance, save one I believe, the officers charged have been exonerated and later we find that the information that caused all of the hoopla, protest, mayhem and burning turned out to be false…it was all hyped up belief and attitude.

In the USSR the operating rule was, tell a lie long enough and it becomes reality. Our media might as well be Pravda.

I’d like to know where this narrative began. It seems to have sprung from personal stories and heads nodding in agreement. That amounts to opinion and attitude blown out of proportion, not facts.

White people also complain about being stopped by cops and how they are treated but because they are not part of a grievance group it doesn’t rise to the level of “ism.”

Police officers come from all racial groups. Some of those charged in shooting recently have been other than white. The cops in Dallas were targeted because they were white…that is racist…but the left focus remains with black grievance. The Dallas Chief of Police is a black man. Asked recently what he would tell young black men who distrust the police because of these incidents he said:

“Become a part of the solution,” he said. “Serve your communities. Don’t be a part of the problem. We’re hiring. Get off that protest line and put an application in, and we’ll put you in your neighborhood and we will help you resolve some of the problems you’re protesting about.”

Best response I’ve heard yet! You think this is easy, you think its something you can solve, you think your protest is making a difference? No, put your own butt on the line…join the force and see what it’s like to be on the blue side of the issue. Quit the complaining and challenge yourself to actually do something. I LOVE this man!

He also urged officers to speak up if they saw fellow officers doing the job other than per their training. Good man!

“Until you face this, we can make no progress.” What are your facts Libby? Let’s see, oh yeah, he was stopped for broken tail light, right? NO, NO, NO, a thousand times NO! I’ve said it here, others have said it, quoting the news and the news has repeatedly said it, it was not a traffic stop over a tail light! ONLY the suspect’s girlfriend, has said this.

Don’t you read or hear anything except the lame and lying far left rags? The cop’s lawyer has been in the news and said, “This has nothing to do with race, and everything to do with the presence of a gun,” Attorney Kelly said. “Deadly force would not have been used if not for the presence of a gun.”

FACT: HE WAS NEVER STOPPED FOR A TAIL LIGHT!

Libby, this one fact that lays the foundation for everything else that followed!!!! WHY can’t you handle this elemental truth Libby, why the blatant denial? I think I know why. Is it because by acknowledging this 100% provable fact will weaken everything bad you have to say about this cop? Good Lord Libby, loosen up, get a clue… the cop stopped this ex-felon with a gun because he matched the description of an “armed” robber in the area. An ARMED robbery suspect, get it? Hellooooo, key word here ARMED…. as in armed with a pistol!

The cop was walking up on a guy he believed was possibly an armed robber! That was his state of mind, that is what he declared on the radio, that is what his partner said, that is what a tape recording in the police dept. showed, what more do you need to be convinced this was a potentially life threaten confrontation between a cop and an armed robber? I’ve plenty more to say about it, but not until you stop spreading the FALSE NARRATIVE and acknowledge the truth.

Libby, I am not saying the cops were right or wrong, I am only saying if you are going to try them in the court of public opinion, get the facts right first, okay?

  3. J. Soden says:

Whatever happened to waiting until all the facts are in?????? Oh, wait. We can’t do that ’cause that might interfere with some kind of agenda – like gun control, playing the race card, or somehow blaming the GOP – to push that’s more important.

It’s not just governors, da prez himself is a great example of jumping to conclusions before the facts are in – multiple times. And those that do so are displaying themselves as total and complete FOOLS!

  4. Pie Guevara says:

Libby holds fast to lies, a specious narrative, and bigoted presumptions. Jack and Tina prefer facts. There could be no clearer demarcation between the rabid left and the rest of us.

Evidence shows no bias in police shootings
