Well, here it is again, another deadly terrorist attack against unarmed, innocent civilians, many of them children. This time 85 people in France were killed and scores were injured after being mowed down by a truck! My thought – As long as there is a Caliphate in Syria and Iraq and we let in Muslims who devoutly embrace Sharia law, these kind of things are bound to happen and with ever increasing frequency. Do you see where we are headed folks? If this isn’t a global war on Western civilization now, it’s bound to be in our near future.
These horrific, yet still pin-prick type attacks as France now suffers, can be traced back to some degree with our policies in the Middle East and this connects right to President Obama. He has been very soft on dealing with the radical problem, with the exception of drone strikes. But, the latter amounts to pin prinks coming from our side and it gets us nowhere. On the whole, he’s made a long list of really bad decisions that regressed our fight on terror. There was a time when we had Al Qaeda (the father of ISIS) on the ropes. They were nearly defeated and humiliated because we were hunting them where they lived and trained. The surge worked better than anything else that we’ve done and we should have learned from the victory, but Obama ignored it. That surge virtually stopped the foreign terrorist attacks, although the door was still open for the random rogue terrorist who was self-radicalized. As you will recall, Obama couldn’t wait to bail out of Iraq and scale back in Afghanistan, again giving up major concession to the radicals. He has blundered in Egypt, Libya, Qatar and Syria. That has all led to the spread of radical Islam. ISIS guided and motivated terrorism is growing thanks to Obama’s blunders and the lack of leadership in the world to take on these radicals.
Obama isn’t serious about fighting, that much is obvious to all except the most oblivious camp followers. He’s not looking into our future and seeing the threat from Muslims who believe in Sharia law, something that is completely incompatible with our notions of liberty and democracy. He is not estimating the seriousness of what is happening around the global with radical Islam. We are in a declared war, but he thinks this is just a minor annoyance, like it’s something we can just work around. In a recent speech he said, “Last year there were more people killed in bathtub accidents than by terrorist.” Well, if he feels that way, why doesn’t he apply the same statistical logic to cop or school shootings? But, now he’s outraged, now he wants action and he’s on his bully pulpit demanding more gun control. His mantra is, “if it will save one child’s life, isn’t it worth it?” What a phony. I’ve had enough of Obama and I sure don’t want to see another 4 years of Obama’s proxy in the White House.
Obama isn’t stupid; he knows what’s going on. He’s just looking at this problem completely different than his military and security advisors, and most of America. He has placed way too much trust in ALL Muslims, when there is little or no justification for such trust.
Excellent take Jack. The longer we are into the presidency of BHO, the more evident it is that GWB and his military advisors were on the right track…in fact, given the very different nature of this enemy it may be that history will record the Bush strategy as brilliant by comparison. Destroying them over there, creating a theater in which to kill them over there, so we won’t have to fight them here was a smart workable strategy. And you’re right we had them on the cusp of destruction.
“In a recent speech he said, ‘Last year there were more people killed in bathtub accidents than by terrorist.’”
This is the thinking of a child. Bathtubs have not declared war on us, they are not plotting evil attacks on innocents, they have no subversive, barbaric ideology.
The political and social ideology of radical Islam must be brought to an end. It’s fighters must be killed and reforms must be made to the “religion” that inspires such political and social barbarism. The entire free world must stand together behind this three pronged goal and mission.
I will not post the contents of this link because it is graphic and demonstrates the brutality and barbarism of this enemy. It’s a report that information had been withheld regarding a former attack where it was discovered victims had been tortured:
Those who have the PC belief that our nations use of waterboarding under strict limitations and controlled procedures is torture should grow up and take a lesson. Vile “intent” to do grave bodily harm and emotional and physical stress and harm and a level of sick brutality contrasts with scaring someone for a short time to extract information. Don’t bother to argue…it’s my opinion and I would defend it to the ground!”
PC is insanity!
When writing PC, it should always be accompanied by BS . . . . .
Good advice! I will attempt to comply in future. Old brain exceptions acknowledged in advance 😉
This morning we found out that an American man and his son were among the dead in Nice. The death toll has climbed higher and many are in very serious condition. Our hearts go out to those effected but I notice the more immediate focus now always goes to the enemy and their vile barbaric (cowardly) means. Does this signal a world finally determined to unify and fight this enemy? I certainly hope so, many on the left still think this is something we must accept as the new normal…our leader included.
We are at war! BHO just cannot accept this fact, and his meaningless foreign policies toward jihadist terrorist within the Islamic faith (that’s where their cells are hiding folks!) are just as feckless as BHO himself.
Along with his personial goals here in the USA of disarming people when we may need self protection the most these days, this will prove to be the BHO legacy, sadly it may become Americas downfall as well.
Harold there’s a lot of people who feel dismayed by this transformation president…I pray there’s enough of us left to get back to some semblance of reality and sanity. I know you do as well…hang in there.
Thoughts on Post Scripts —
You folks, Jack, Tina, et. al. have no idea how much I enjoy your blog. I think it thoughtful and thought provoking. I have no objection to alternate views being expressed in the comments section and would not want to see this become blog become monolithic.
Nevertheless, I am sick and tired of the anal-retentive, nit-picking, constant barrage of specious personal attack tactics from progressives who comment here. If this blog degenerates back into a Chris (now “Nate”) discourse, I will have to let it go.
I appreciate a civil discourse, but a constant barrage of the specious progressive tactics of personal attack, false charges of racism, bigotry, xenophobia, misogyny … you name it … send me over the edge. As you well should know by now.
Jack, Tina, J. Soden, Peggy, RHT, bob, Harold, and so many others, I wish I had your cool, calm, and collected heads, but I don’t. I am a firebrand. I get far too passionate about evil and the vile left, especially when they abuse the good people who created and frequent this blog.
To err is human, to be “perfect” takes a ***damn progressive.
Of course, I do not presume in anyway whatsoever to instruct Jack or Tina on how to run their blog. These are just some personal thoughts I probably should not post.
I’m right there with you Pie. You may have noticed I haven’t been commenting as much lately. It’s because I got tired of being attacked almost every time for what I said and the sources I provided. Instead of having a civil conversation I’d end up defending myself for what I presented.
I’m not an aggressive fighter, so to deal with the attacks I choose to ignore them, in most cases. But, knew they’d be there in my next post. It got tiring because his tactics were so obvious to everyone but him. It didn’t matter how many times he was told to knock it off he’d continue and even ramp it up. He was always right, his sources were always correct and I/we were a bunch of dumb shi$% because we didn’t agree with him about everything.
I have to admit it’s been nice having him gone. I’ve thought several times about sharing, but not knowing if/when he’ll return I’ve held back. I enjoy sharing ideas and learning from each other. But, it’s a waste of my time to defend myself and to read about others doing the same through a 20-30 comment string, looking for information about the subject matter.
He’s mastered Saul Alinsky’s whatever rule to silence the opposition. I just hope either by ignoring him or other options he’ll move on and not be able to hijack this conservative blog again.
That’s my 2 cents worth, for now.
Attacking the messenger and not the message is a typical tactic of the left. If the messenger can be in some way discredited, then what they report or opine about is so also, no matter how accurate or fair or honest.
Hang in there, Pie.
Thanx for the kudos. You must remember that you’re responding to the ignorant unwashed, and treat their comments accordingly. If you leave, they succeed.
That’s why I try use humor, since many of their comments deserve only laughter.

Thanx for the kudos. Attacks and name-calling by the ignorant unwashed is a long-used tactic by the Left. If you withdraw – they win.
Consider the source. That’s why I try to use humor since many of the Leftie posts deserve nothing other than laughter.
Sorry, folks. Twern’t me!
Don’t know why this comment posted 3 times – unless the idea was just too good not to repeat . . . .
We all need to vent now and then Pie. I appreciate your passion and welcome your thoughtful commentary. All I can tell you is the matter is being looked into.
I would miss you should you decided to leave us but I will understand if that is your choice. If you go I wish you all the best and hope you land somewhere more favorable to your sensibi…no dang it. Hang in there, man!
As you can see I am conflicted. Life is not a bowl of cherries. It’s messy. I’ve been a bit unsettled lately myself. So much is going on that runs against my values, my sense of what America is and should be…and there’s so much horror, pain, sorrow, deception, ignorance and hate. It may be inappropriate to say so but the only thing left to me is my faith and the love I have for people. What is it that makes contention and strife so attractive. People can’t seem to just live their lives anymore, leaving others to do the same. The drive to manage how people think and what they can say and do is so offensive to me as a person who loves and values freedom. The need to agitate and disrupt is offensive to me, especially since we live in a free country. We’ve become a nation in which personal dysfunction and personal emotional challenges are politicized…is there anything people take on for themselves anymore?
As I said, we all need to vent now and then…I get to feeling deflated…you feel like an overly inflated balloon about to pop….we’ll get over it (smile)
Thoughts about the attack in France are, ISIS is ramping up since their strongholds in Iraq are being squeezed. This is the second one in France and don’t expect it to be the last, along with many more throughout Europe and the US.
A gun from Fast and Furious, sent by Eric Holder to the Mexican drug cartels was amongst those used during the first attack at the night club. I wonder how many were in the back of the truck that was loaded with ammo, guns and grenades that was used to mow down those hundreds of innocent people.
Final thought on the military coup’s failed attempt in Turkey. Obama came out in support of the president and against the military. Turkey has had a military coup every 10 years or so to keep their gov’t secular and from becoming too Islamic. Turkey has been a unique country that managed to have both religions coexist and even share the same worship facilities. That’s an amazing accomplishment when compared to what is going on in the ME.
For Obama to side with the president of Turkey was a tell all moment for me. He declared his alignment with the Islamic faith over a long history of peach and harmony, for the most part, amongst the people of Turkey. Advancing the Islamic faith through the Turkey gateway border into Europe will be as free flowing as the EU is to Europe. The president of the US, as our nation’s leader, just announced our country’s support for the Caliphate.
