Trump was speaking to the folks in North Carolina about how devistating Hillary’s choices for the Supreme Court would be in terms of the Constitution. He said the following:

“By the way if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know.”

Twitter feeds lit up and news writers immediately began the assumption campaign. Speculation as to whether Trump was issuing a threat or assuming that someone in the gun community would actually harm (assassinate) Hillary.

This is third grade stuff. The Hillary people must all have worn their ‘I’m a Little Devil” shirts to work today.

The Trump campaign’s response was that he was speaking about the spirited commitment gun owners have regarding the Second Ammendment and founding documents:

The leaders of our government have tested the patience of the American people. Donald Trump expressed a cautionary point that applies not only in terms of Supreme Court appointees but in terms of a compromised Justice Department a president that flouts the law and the processes of our government, leaders that engage in corporatism and more.

The media was likewise flummoxed with statements made by Ronald Reagan. They were seriously worried he couldn’t be trusted with the suitcase.

    I too do not believe Trump was issuing a threat. He was simply being the blowhard jack*** AGAIN and feeding his political enemies yet another way to attack him.

    Time to wise up? Too late for that. Not gonna happen as I see it. I am completely disgusted. It isn’t over yet, but if Trump continues this way it will be soon. He probably will continue down the same self-destructive path and the Horrid Hillary will have enough margin to win.

    Today I intended to not read any news media or go online, but I am such a news junkie I did anyway. I wish I had not. Another day, another way for Trump to make an *** of himself.

    Reagan’s statement was hilarious — never intended to be broadcast. Trump’s statement was part of a major speech and just plain idiotic. Can Trump stop being a self destructive idiot? I think not.

      The Washington Post reported last week that the tax-exempt foundation run by Bill and Hillary Clinton accepted money from seven foreign governments while Hillary served as U.S. Secretary of State (it’s unclear how much foreign money the organization accepted while Hillary was a U.S. Senator). Super shady, right? It’s worse than that, though, because Article I, Section 9 of the U.S. Constitution actually bans foreign payola for U.S. officials.

      The constitutional ban on foreign cash payments to U.S. officials is known as the Emoluments Clause and originated from Article VI of the Articles of Confederation. The purpose of the clause was to prevent foreign governments from buying influence in the U.S. by paying off U.S. government officials. Here’s the text of the clause:

      No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.

      Various statutes and rules have been promulgated to effect the constitutional ban on foreign cash. The U.S. House of Representatives bans cash payments from foreign governments. The U.S. Senate, of which Hillary was a member from 2001 to 2009, bans cash payments from foreign governments. And the U.S. State Department bans cash payments from foreign governments. Let’s take a look at the specific language from the State Dept.:

      Executive branch employees are subject to restrictions on the gifts that they may accept from sources outside the Government. Unless an exception applies, executive branch employees may not accept gifts that are given because of their official positions or that come from certain interested sources (“prohibited sources”).

      A prohibited source is a person (or an organization made up of such persons) who: is seeking official action by, is doing business or seeking to do business with, or is regulated by the employee’s agency, or has interests that may be substantially affected by performance or nonperformance of the employee’s official duties.

      Does a foreign government have business with the U.S. State Department? Is a foreign government generally seeking official action by the U.S. State Department? You better believe it.

      National Review, “Hillary Says We Should Rewrite the First Amendment, If That’s What It Takes to Reverse Citizens United”

      CNS News, “Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” today that “the unborn person doesn’t have constitutional rights.” — Clinton made the statement in response to a question from “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd. Clinton also said that an unborn child’s constitutional rights are “not something that exists.” (Person? Wow, some admission and yet she’s sure she can find a right to abortion in the Constitution)

      Progressives believe the Constitution is a living document. Since the feminists attempt to amend it failed, the courts have been used to undermine the Constitution, using such tactics as changing definitions of words.

      Everyone knows the next president will have several opportunities to name new SC judges…the divide in America is between those who believe we live in a nation of laws and those who believe we live in a nation of men, elites who can bend and twist the Constitution to fit their latest whims, crazes, desires, belief systems, or prejudices. Hillary is the latter. Her election would be devastating in terms of the Constitution and the rights of individuals. And remember, shes one of the pigs that’s more equal than others.

      I don’t hate you Pie. You are absolutely within your rights to offer whatever you think is significant and of interest to our readers.

      I doubt there are many people who are unaware that Trump’s off the cuff remarks are at times offensive. If there are, the media will do everything it can to make sure they are made aware. I wonder if in they will take the time to consider and balance the times in his life when he’s shown that he can be refined and graceful, humble and generous. Since people love drama I doubt it, which is how the politics of personal destruction has become a winning tool of the left.

      Trump has never been called to performed in the arena of dirty politics. His “public’ experience is predominantly in meetings in city offices, with union officials, contractors and building inspectors in New York or in social situations, parties, fund raisers, and pop culture media. An arena where language and opinion is accepted. You could say until he decided to run for President he was considered “one of them.”

      Trumps opponent is a politician with decades of experience who has only been challenged once, semi-seriously, when she ran against a very popular, first black candidate, Barrack Obama. It isn’t at all surprising, and in fact is quite evident, that she is more practiced in this realm and given wide leeway. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t have an equally filthy mouth and it certainly doesn’t mean she isn’t filled with contempt and vitriol.

      I don’t have the time or the will to illustrate why, word by word, this video compilation is meaningless in the election. I will say that on issues both candidates have changed their minds and praised their competitors as well as disparaged them. So in terms of who I would vote for, given these are the two choices capable of winning, I have to look at the things that make one or the other attractive. In that arena the choice is clear. Hillary will double down on economy and job killing policies in an already miserable condition. Hillary will do all she can to eliminate gun ownership. Hillary will put progressive judges on the court and that means our Constitution will be transformed to the point of meaninglessness.

      The MSM works for Hillary and against Trump.

      A media watching group found a statement made by Hillary Clinton in 2008 that was much more suggestive of violence and even then, when she was running against the first black man to seek the presidency, they did not assume and condemn as they have with Trump’s comments:

      Late in the 2008 primary season, Hillary Clinton justified her refusal to drop out when it appeared impossible for her to win the nomination by saying “we all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California” during the 1968 primary.

      On today’s With All Due Respect, host Mark Halperin asked Hillary surrogate Neera Tanden whether there was a parallel between Hillary’s remark and that of Donald Trump today, who said “Second Amendment people” maybe could do something about a President Hillary trying to abolish the Second Amendment. Predictably, Tanden said there was “absolutely no parallel.” Why? Because Hillary was “talking about a person she had deep respect for.” Right, but on whose possible assassination she was hanging her nomination hopes.

      Bob Beckel, prominent Democrat spokesman said the following:

      Speaking on the Fox Business show “Follow The Money” on Monday, Bob Beckel excoriated Assange for leaking the State Department cables that have roiled the world in the past week, and said that American special forces should kill him.

      A movie, depicting the imagined assassination of GWB received wide acclaim in 2006. A “reviewer” at the site wrote the following among his remarks: “This film can be regarded as both as a straight ahead thriller but also as a device to explore your own attitudes and those of others to certain key political issues. Its rather like the BBC1 TV series ‘Spooks’ which uses some very current-affairs-rich plot lines with potential to alarm some sensitive groupings and manages to craft mass entertainment with the power to stimulate and provoke.

      Dog whistles are a practiced, designed and implemented tactic of the progressive left.

      I won’t vote for Trump thinking he’s led the perfect life and is squeaky clean. I won’t vote for Trump thinking he will always perform well and do everything I like. Those are unrealistic expectations. I will vote Trump because his ideas to turn our economy around, fight the terrorist enemy, protect and preserve our Constitution are 100% better than those espoused by Hillary Clinton whose record of malfeasance and failure is extraordinarily ugly and evil. The people have spoken. I respect the process and will choose the candidate that is more likely to perform as I’d hope. I hope he surprises us all.

    Words of caution from Professor Robert Oscar Lopez about the positions of the Never Trumpers:

    Many of my close friends in the conservative movement are NeverTrumpers. As a result, I find myself in an awkward position. The NeverTrumpers are appealing to their conservative friends based on emotional claims that I recognize as false, deluded, and selfish. One friend said, “Who wins the election does not matter as much as the need to vote one’s conscience.” This statement is stunningly prideful and childish. The voting booth is not a ride at Six Flags, and elections are not part of a consumer experiences. The White House is not Burger King, where you get things your way.

    Of course who wins the election is more important than your precious conscience or how you feel about voting. Your country matters more than you do. Has America become so weak and self-absorbed that people no longer understand what it means to say, “It’s not all about you, honey”?

    I guess that’s why I could never be a libertarian.

    Part of the impasse between me and NeverTrumper friends is that they have never actually sat down and listened to the full horrors that I endured firsthand, which make it undeniable to me that this election is about stopping Hillary Clinton and saving America. Some games are won by offense, and others are won by defense; elections follow that pattern. We have to vote against things sometimes.

    I know that the dark side of a Clinton presidency would be not merely difficult, but also intolerable, and that Clinton as president would be incomparably more damaging than the likely flaws of a Trump presidency. Clinton must be stopped at all costs. We often say “at all costs” without understanding what the term means. In this case, it means voting for Trump despite whatever shortfalls one sees in him, to save America.

    After having served for eight years under a dean who headed the Clinton Global Initiative on my campus (see here and here and here), and after having been essentially driven out of that job, I know on a visceral and personal level what a Clinton presidency will mean. I know that conservatives, especially those who are NeverTrumpers, will be completely powerless to protect social conservatives such as myself from the crushing machine of corruption that will operate under a Clinton presidency.

    I know because of the reality of the last eight years I experienced under Obama. While Obama has had his share of corruption, the primary threat he posed to America was his ideology. Clinton is in a class by herself, for she has all the ideological problems of Obama plus a deceitful ruthlessness several times worse than his. Her cronies are even more ghastly.

    You don’t know how bad things can be unless you have been a powerless pawn under a Clintonista regime. Hillary Clinton did not run the California campus where I worked, but the leadership of the dean who supervised me for eight years bore all the hallmarks of the Clinton style, which thrives wherever Clinton money flows.

    Clintonworld throws up the thinnest façades of helping little downtrodden groups: Latinos, blacks, gays, women who’ve been raped, Muslims, and even veterans (particularly veterans who were harmed by the war). All these groups are used and spit out. If they don’t toe the Clinton line, they go from being special snowflake groups to targets of unshackled and gloating bigotry. Homophobia, racism, anti-veteran bigotry, and religious hostility were as powerfully wielded against me, as was any direct antipathy based on my Republican conservative politics.

    Under a Clintonista regime, investigations are phony, mind games become incredibly complicated, you cannot trust anybody, all conversations border on blackmail, and everybody’s two-faced. The people in business attire are typically working in tandem with thugs. “We found no evidence” is the surefire response if someone who’s unfavored files a complaint. When someone who is unfavored is the respondent to a complaint, suddenly no stone is left unturned, deadlines are extended for months and years, and any possible chance to inflict discipline without getting sued is taken. Clintonistas not only make the rules as they go along; they also break the rules they make up as they go along.

    After several years of working in this environment, I would wake up shaking, not knowing what was going to happen today. Would I suddenly be accused of a new crime made up out of whole cloth? Would I be shamed and slandered on the internet again? Would a student have an outburst in class, carefully timed to look random but bearing the marks of my enemies’ behind-the-scenes choreography? Would I come to campus to find vandalism? Would I open my email to see yet another Orwellian trap, a reprimand based on my dean’s fantasy, a fake email sent from a friend’s hacked account, a threatening message from some nom de plume who might be halfway around the world or down the hall?

    The conservative movement cannot combat Clintonista corruption. I know, because the same NeverTrumpers who now claim he is too undignified to support were once people who drafted me into their battles. (continues)

    The only area of disagreement for me is that this isn’t an election that isn’t about a “selfish” vote. Saving America means that our ability to support ourselves and our family is also at stake. Preserving individual rights is at stake.

    I read where 50 Republican current and former national security types have issued a public letter condemning Trump. The grown-ups think the man’s appalling instability is a big deal.

      The gun lobby is a huge block of people with a lot of political clout.

      Media hype, sour grapes and fears that the elites might find themselves kicked to the curb have all kinds of people in a freak out grip.

      A few more examples of Democrats making similar statements have surfaced. Joe Biden, running against Obama in 2008, said, “If Obama “tries to fool with my Beretta, he’s got a problem”

      It’s not hard to make such lists. Some of them may have gone on to serve under Obama and are to some degree responsible for the mess this nation faces.

      Some of them may be center left (RINO) republicans who won’t get hired if Trump wins but might if Hillary does.

      This doesn’t make them grown-ups; it makes them opportunists and cover-yer-butt butts.

    It’s gotten so when I wake up in the morning, one of my first thoughts is “What is today’s story about TheDonald that the moron media presstitutes are upset about?” Second thought is – “Is it real, or just another made-up pile of bilge?”

    And, since that same bunch of presstitutes are ignoring stories regarding $hrilLIARy’s health, newly released emails showing her pay-for-play, her denial of inviting Orlando shooter Mateen’s father to stand behind her at a rally in FL, and others too many to list here, I’m of the opinion that those same presstitutes deserve nothing but laughter at their pretended angst.

      Talking is how human beings communicate with each other. You seem to be proposing that we make some sort of social pact to the effect that Trump does not say what he says … he says what you say he said.

    My mornings are similar but I wake up itemizing the things Hillary must overcome. The list can be used as a clue for whatever anti-Trump story of the day that gets fabricated and promulgated in the media. Saul Alinsky #12 is in full throttle. Here’s my list so far:

    Hillary lies. (Therefore Trump must be seen as a liar)

    Hillary can’t be trusted.

    Hillary is not qualified.

    Hillary has a record of failure.

    Hillary has no experience.

    Hillary’s past is scandal filled

    Hillary is a B-word…has a foul way of dealing with people

    Hillary isn’t likable

    Hillary waged a war on women.

    What do you suppose the Trump tower climber is up to?

    Changing the Constitution seems to be what they do. By injecting partisan politics we fail their purpose. The Constitution is neither Liberal or Conservative.

    But somehow SCOTUS has destroyed our Democracy. Money is Speech. Corporations are People. Foreign money in our elections can hide in superpacs.

    Democracy is gone.

    They can be killed, detained without warrants on our soil. If detained they do not have to disclose they have said citizen or where they are.

    And Both Democrats and Republicans have allowed this. GW started it and Obama continues it. (Actually Pappy Bush laid groundwork)

    The Constitution was written by men grounded in conservative values. The Constitution guarantees our rights: individual freedom, freedom of speech and religion,the right to keep and bear arms, the right to own and hold property and be .

    Progressive feminists found the right to abortion in the Constitution (its not there) and argued the right to abortion in court based on 9th and 14th amendments. At the time the states each determined laws on abortion. This case created a federal mandate on abortion. it was imposed on the people without using the appropriate, legislative, branch of either the various state legislatures or the federal legislature.

    Conservatives would turn the matter back to the individual states and we would also honor the legislative process.

    Regarding NSA program for information gathering. The original law was written to gather information to protect American citizens. The law limited use to calls originating outside of the US to persons inside the US and between persons outside the US even if the call was routed through the US. It had court oversight.

    But the law has been abused.

    In June 2015 Congress passed a law, The USA Freedom Act which:

    Resume the NSA data collection program, but only for a transition period of six months. After that, the legislation would no longer allow the NSA to sweep up Americans’ records in bulk. Instead, it would leave the records with phone companies and give the government the ability to seek access with a warrant.

    Continue other post-9/11 surveillance provisions that also lapsed Sunday night. These include the FBI’s authority to gather business records in terrorism and espionage investigations and to more easily eavesdrop on suspects who are discarding cellphones to avoid surveillance.

    Create a panel to provide the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court with guidance on privacy and civil liberties matters.

    Increase transparency for the surveillance court’s decisions. (see video)

    The bottom line is we need to be able to fight terrorists and we need to be able to trust our government officials.

    I trusted George Bush and Cheney. I think their motives were to protect the American people and defeat the enemy.

    I’m not certain about the current bunch.
